      drowning

i keep dreaming about drowning or sinking. Two days ago i had the dream again and i can remember all of it. It started with me taking the bus to somewhere, when i got of the bus i remembered that i forgot my wallet on the bus. I ran after the buss to get it and the bus was no on a boat going over the ocean. i told the man in charge that i forgot my wallet and that i need it. The boat started driving and i wasn't supposed to be on it, the man couldt give the wallet to me before they came back, for some reason. Suddenly i was in the water, it was big and dark blue, and a bit wavy, but still calm in some way. I tried to keep my head above water but i couldn't. When i tried to swim up i just kept going further down and i was almost paralyzed, not able to move the way i wanted to. I could still see the man on the boat when i was under water, he was screaming at me and i tried to communicate with me but it was hard since i was struggling. I remember kind of being irritated that he didn't just leave because i tried to make him believe that i had everything under control and that i didn't need any help at all. Suddenly i was home again, and the man later came to my house giving me the wallet (he also gave me a mini frozen pizza and something to drink) , he said something and it made my sister wonder whats wrong, so i said well its because i almost drowned. And again i was irritated that she made a big deal about it, because i was fine and it didnt matter and i didn't want her to know that i struggled.

i aaalways have this dream about being in the big darkblue ocean and im unable to get out. i stay calm the whole time, even though i wonder whats going on and i want to get out, but there is no panic. what can this mean you think?

im a 20 year old female if that means anything.

To drown is be be overwhelmed, it could either be something outside of you, or something inside of you. You could reflect upon that, in what way do I have feelings of being overwhelmed or "drowned" in or by something?

In the dreams there are almost an acceptance to this situation, "no panic". Perhaps there is a situation in yourself that makes you almost lose yourself, but you don't want people to know that, see that, so you act as if it was okay?

These eventual circumstances may have something to do with you "collective" self in contrast to your individual self; you go by bus, which is a collective means of transportation, where you lose your wallet, which is where we store our ID. So perhaps you run the risk of losing your individuality in the expectations of the others, the society or family?

If you want further input, you could tell us a little more about yourself, your life situation, perhaps some associations to the contents of the dream, and so forth. It is almost impossible to interpret an isolated dream someone you know nothing about had, but in either case I hope this has been helpful.

I recently had a dream about a flood, and for me it was definitely about being overwhelmed, however as a secondary meaning I am also having sinus issues. I don't know whether this applies to you as well.

What struck me about your dream is how you kept claiming that you were in control, that you did not need others help, and were bothered by their making a big deal out of it. Are you in a situation where you are overwhelmed but do not want to admit it to others and maybe not even to yourself? Are you a kind of person who wants to solve your issues without others help, even though you may need help?

I wonder whether the forgetting your wallet is because your issue is financial in nature, or is the wallet symbolic as well. Being able to pay for things yourself because you have your wallet on you could be about independence, and not necessarily financial independence.
You may say I'm a dreamer.
