      Help interpretate my dream?

Hello! Recently, I've had problems with dream recall the last month, which is highly unusual for me- I have incredible natural recall abilities and dream vividly. Anyways, my dream is short but I'm glad I remembered it! So my dream starts out with me just getting a new haircut. And I got it dyed dark purple with some magenta. And decide to go outside, because I was wondering if my flowers were growing yet, although winter. I'm walking around, and I see all sorts of flowers. I saw flowers of all colors, I was peaceful and content. Not happy or excited but neutral. Then I walk up my driveway. Near the road, laying horizontally, I see a large, dead python. It looked like someone sliced it. The ski n around its head was gone but it had a small human skull instead of a snake skull. And that's it. It was an odd dream. I was intrigued by the snake.

As we see in this dream, most of our dreams should not be taken literally.
I believe that many – perhaps most -- of our dreams are meant to be feedback to the dreamer to let the dreamer know how he/she is progressing spiritually and psychologically. Thus, we should not be too surprised when we see spiritual and religious symbols in our dreams.

Another thing that I notice in many dreams, including this one, is that the sequence of events is often important. Although the actual events can be important, their sequence can be important because of their cause and effect. This means that we can usually tell if an event is good or bad by looking at the events that immediately preceded and followed an event. This can be a powerful tool for interpreting dreams.

And now for the dream –
      1. The haircut suggests a new way of thinking.
      2. The “dark purple with some magenta” is probably related to the 7th chakra.
      3. It is winter. In other dreams with winter, the cold air seems to have something to do with purity or spirituality. If there is snow, it may represent power from above.
      4. There are flowers of all colors. Plants are common symbols of the developing personality. If there are many flowers, this implies that there are numerous aspects to this growth.
      5. The dead snake with the human skull may represent some sort of religious or mythological entity.
      a. The number and types of serpent or half-human half-serpent deities and mythological beings is daunting. Some are male and some are female. Some have arms, feathers or wings. Although there may be several candidates, here some serpent-like contenders:
      Hatuibwari of Melanesia
      Jörmungandr Norse
      Kukulcan Mayan
      Medusa Greek
Naga Hinduism – This is a good candidate.
      Quetzalcoatl Aztecs
Serpents of the Bible (some of these serpents are also associated with Gnosticism and Islam)
Shakti Kundalini – This is a very good candidate.
      Zhulong (mythology) China
      Serpent Priestess Crete
      b. It looks like the serpent had been sliced open. My gut feeling is that there was something in the snake that was “born” with the snake’s death. The two most likely possibilities are: (1) a new serpent (Shakti?) came from the old or (2) there were several serpents.
In some of the dreams that I have seen, there would be many (typically smaller) snakes that enter the person’s body through the skin. They would symbolize the energy that flows through the nadis.
However, there may only be three snakes. These would be associated with the best known of the nadis – the Sushumna, the Ida and the Pingala.

All of this is probably very confusing. But the essence of this dream is that it is very positive and that it is a sign of spiritual growth and development. If a reader has any questions, feel free to post or PM me.

      Hope this helps.

      Hello,
Lugus gave some interesting ideas about your dream. I have come questions about your dream. If you kindly answer them as best you can recall, I will then happily give you an interpretation of your dream as if it was mine.

      Scenes:
There are two scenes – in the place where you got a haircut and outside…correct? If not, then please let me know.

      Scene 1: Haircut

      Location:
I want you to go back to your dream and then play the role of an observer.
      1. If you looked to your right, what could you see?
      2. If you looked to your left, what could you see?
      3. If you looked ahead what could you see?
      4. If you looked behind, what could you see?
Things I am fishing for include what were the walls made of, colour, size of the room, what the floor you were standing on was made of, colour and age, etc.
      5. Were there any windows, doors or stairs in this scene?
      a. If so then tell me where they were relative to you the dreamer, i.e. left, right, in front, behind, above or below.
