You are supposed to deal with this situation. You are used to just waking up and avoiding these situations, but this one is different. I would suggest you stay in the Dream long enough to tell your friends "This is crazy! I'm moving!" and just walk out the front door and keep going. You need to leave that house while still in the dream. That may provide the resolution that the Dream seems to require before it will allow you to move on.

Also, the idea of the House being haunted assumes that things that had died carry on a residual life. What this means psychologically is that we find ourselves having to deal with inhereted tendencies. We all know right from wrong, good from bad, and we all have a sense for quality and what we would desire as beneficial and noble. But along with these acquired tastes, we carry with us the tendencies of our instincts and breeding. It is difficult to be a saint if our father was a drunken horsethief and our mother was a dancing girl, no matter how good our present intentions happen to be. At a certain level we are forced to confront our very natures.

If this is the case with your dream, then perhaps you would have to try something even more radical than simply leaving the place. My first inclination would be to burn the place down and rebuild.

Within the Spiritual Community it has long been recognized that the Spiritual Path is often obstructed with natural karma from past lives -- not spiritual past lives, but the actual past lives of our horsethieving and dancing ancestors. Ceremonies are conducted in which all means of symbols are summoned up to destroy these tendencies -- one visualizes swords cutting them off and fires burning them up. We may suppose there may be good things that have come to us from our Heredity. But what a great Historian had once charitably extended to the Great Men of the Past, that "what was Good in them was all their own, but what was bad was only the fashion of their Time". What is Good in us will stay, but in destroying all our connections to our Karmic Past, we will only destroy what could only hold us back.

Now there are some details that make me ponder a bit. You own this house with your friends. This may indicate that your friends may be carrying Karmic baggage with them that does not really make them the best of friends. The quality of one's life is greatly affected by the quality of one's friends.
