A church - any church - represents a state of mind or mental atittude that pertains to spiritual thinking. Sitting in the church would imply resting at ease with a mental attitude that pertains to spiritual thinking. Within this mental attitude there is an aspect of yourself (the preacher) that appears to be ministering to your spiritual needs (as the preacher is preaching). You can rest at ease about this also - and listen. (sitting in a church listening) The scene would also suggest that where you are doing or could be doing some spiritual thinking that the kind of spiritual thinking you can listen to would be the kind that reflects the church's teachings (as a preacher usually preaches according to the teachings of the church he represents).
