      Stupid Harpy's

I've had recurring dreams that have harpy's in them. The last one (a couple years ago) I had was really interesting. I had almost complete control over everything except for my opponent. I was fighting a harpy that had a neck and head like a flamingo but black with a longer and sharper beak. The rest was a winged, feathered female with legs like a bird.

I had it by its neck and was trying to keep it from snapping my head off and strangling it at the same time, all while it was clawing me. I could feel its pulse in its neck getting stronger as it was suffocating and it was matching my heartbeat beat by beat and in intensity. After 20 seconds or so i gave up and wanted to run away but it started snapping at me again so i had to start choking it again. Well as it started dying, i could feel its pulse and mine synchronise and maintain the same intensity, growing slower and stronger until it felt like my heart was going to burst, until the thing died. When that happened, its head went limp and it felt like my heart actually did burst. I can't really explain the feeling but it went from an extreme intensity to nothing. I woke up a couple seconds after and wasn't exhausted or anything but was at complete peace and was breathing unusually slow.

It was almost as i died as the harpy did. Any ideas or comments on that?

      Jake,

Okay, it is my understanding that you had a series of recurring dreams but that they culminated in this one final dream in which you finally killed the harpy.

Yes it does seem to me that you were able to kill some horrible aspect of yourself.

What has recently changed in your life since these recurring dreams came to a stop? I would anticipate your answer to the extent of supposing that you must have been relieved of some ongoing source of stress -- something that you used to obsess about but which you hardly have noticed doesn't really seem to concern you anymore.

Whats funny is i never thought that was the final dream. It was though and it was the only one where i actually killed the harpy. Interesting... I'll have to ponder that.
