My Moms Dream

I tried to get my mom to Register here so she could ask, but she doesn't like posting messages... She keeps having dreams where she is talking to her dead father (my grandfather), and she is perfectly aware that he is dead each time, but she never quite realizes that she's dreaming. She has normal conversations with him alot in her dreams, and tells him that hes dead, but she keeps having these dreams and is wondering what it could mean. Since she probably won't register here, she probably won't check this topic, so if someone could either post here or send an E-mail to her with your thoughts on it, please do. Your mom's going to kill you when she starts receiving emails from weird strangers! Anyway, when did her father die? If it was recently, maybe the dreams are just part of her grieving process. The death of a loved one effects people in many different ways. Maybe she wants to move on, and so she tells her father in her dreams that he's dead. But she may have some unresolved issues with him and so he keeps reappearing. And you may not believe in this stuff, but maybe his soul/spirit is visiting her in her dreams because he's trying to communicate something. I'm sorry I'm not an expert at interpreting dreams, but it sounds like either your mother or her father has some unresolved issues that facilitates their meeting in her dreams. She could try meditating and see if he comes to her then. Since she isn't lucid during dreaming, she may be able to find out more during meditation when she's awake and conscious. It's not an uncommon type of dream. I don't think anyone knows why. To dream about deceased ones as if they're still alive and all in normal, or as if they are dead but somehow back and alive again, I have read many others like it. It's really not surprising when you think about it. She lived with him all her life (I assume) then suddenly he's gone. She's still going through long term shock. She is INcompletely used to the loss of him and probably still occasionally feels like he will come back any moment. We humans just don't comprehend death very well and this is part of the result.

He's been dead for about2 or 3 Years or so I think, so I don't think its the fact that she expects him to come back, especially since in her dreams even, she knows he's dead..
