I dreamt I was marrying myself!

In this dream I am getting married in a forest for some reason, and everyone is gathering to take some wedding pictures. Since it's my wedding, I feel surprised when I look down at what I'm wearing and see that I don't have a weding dress on, but regular casual clothes that I wear in my daily life. Another aspect which makes me wonder, is... I'm getting married, but I realize there's no groom. I am standing there alone, only with family members around, about to have a wedding, but there's no one to marry! The stranger thing is, it didn't feel that odd in the dream, it felt like the wedding was supposed to take place without a groom. So, then comes time for the wedding pictures, and I position myself in the middle of my guests. Then, I look around and see a woman in a wedding dress with her groom. At that point I get confused and start to wonder who they are and what are they doing at my wedding. Then I hear my dad say that the bride and groom should stand next to me for the picture, so that we will all be in the middle of the photo. I couldn't uderstand the main theme of this wedding.... it felt like I was getting married to myself! Then after the strange ceremony, everyone present gathered around to eat.... however, since this was taking place in a forrest, there was nowhere to sit, and everyone sat on the ground. Then I notice there is a table, so we all relocate to it. I heard my aunt complaining that I didn't take them to the table sooner and they all had to eat on the ground. I have no idea what this dream could represent, and what relationship I had with the bride and groom that were at my wedding. Also, why did I not have a groom at my own wedding, and why was I not in a wedding dress? I would really like to find out what this dream could be trying to tell me, so if anyone could fill me in, I would highly appreciate it.

Hey, thank you so much for that post. It cleared up a lot of things for me. Last night before I had this dream I was telling my friend that I don't want to search for my "other half" until I'm fully whole myself. I forgot all about that, but after reading your interpretation I see that it was the dream telling me that I may be ready...

I was thinking that you lack commitment & structure, but becoming whole before courting makes sense too.

I think it means you mastrubate to much

Not really (or is it.?!). Maybe it means you have to eighter look less or more into yourself. Like the you-otherppl stuff. Don't try to make other people happy at your own expence (of happyness).

Or maybe the otherway around: Think about other people too =)

But really I have no clue ^______________________________^

I agree with dropout14, marriage to yourself in the forest could mean that you are whole (or need to become) with yourself and surrounding. That you may be ready to take the next step towards the next stage of your life.

Anyway, I have the occasional dream that I'm being persued by a person, the same person but in different guises. I always run. He/she always persues and tries to seduce me. And usually suceeds at seducing me, in an attempt to meld the two of us together permanently.
I've been told the pursuer is another part of myself that I've denied or supressed, just trying to reconnect and help make me whole. I was told that when I finally stop running from that part of myself, I'll finally feel complete.

Not quite the same as your dream but yeah...I think yours is a dream of wanting to or finally becoming whole. Your dream makes me wonder if I'll surrender and get hitched to my other half?

But If my 'other half' catches me with you...she'll flip out.
I'll end up having to kick my own ass.

perhaps (just a crazy idea) the dream is being used as affirmation that you are meant to be alone... not in the sense that you shall not have friends and all that jazz but that you don't need anyone else. you're sufficient on your own. not everyone is meant to have a marriage partner. perhaps it's a way of inadvertedly pointing this out to you.
