      very weird/scary dream!

Ok, first off I better explain myself. I'm Mark, 20 from England, but I'm living and studying in Austria at the moment. I'm interested in things like Lord of the Rings, and all sorts of UFO/alien stuff (such as Taken, and War of the Worlds) if that helps?

Right, onto the dream! I was walking over the largest bridge in my home town (the Itchen bridge in Southampton if anyone knows it, coincidently offering a great view of my first house, though I don't think this is relevant as I didn't see it in my dream). There were really large crowds walking across the bridge (strange as although people walk over it, it's mainly for traffic, and there was none, only a crowd of people). I saw someone eho looked similar to someone I went to school with, but he was someone that I rarely spke to and had very little to do with. He grabbed hold of my arm as we walked over the bridge. Everyone was walking in the same direction. We passed through some scaffolding that was covered, so we couldn't see outside. Then the bridge began to shake, and we ran back the other way, towards the city centre. A plane had flown into the bridge (think similar to 9/11). We got off the bridge and it collapsed.

The next moment I was in another crowd (without the friend from school). I was on a coast road (a road that ran along the coast), yet no road like this exists in my home town. The crowds were fleeing from the city. I looked back towards town, and saw another plane crash into the centre. Everybody started to run. I then saw some of my friends from Austria, who asked where I was, and I said that I was on the bridge. Then the music from the War of the Worlds (jeff Waynes version) starts up.

I woke up really disturbed. Just to say that Jeff Waynes version of wotw scared me as a child, and although it longer scares me any more, I listened to it again last week, and it reminded me of how scared I was. It was pretty dark when I woke up, and I soon went back to sleep. But I also had another cream. All I can remember was that I was scared of something, and was running from it in a rowing boat towards an island. These may not be connected, but I rarerly have dreams like these, and very very rarely more than one dream in a night.

I would be very very grateful if anyone could help!! Cheers!

I'll go ahead and take a stab at it...

For the most part, to interperet dreams, you have to think in tearms of symbols. A bridge is simply a passageway over an obsticle. So in crossing the bridge, you may be seeing yourself overcoming an obsticle soon. You will not be alone though, you will be helped along the way by an old friend, maybe not the same one, but one in the same position with you. The crowd could mean that this is a common obstacle to cross, something most people have to do.

The scaffolding... construction. This bridge is either not yet finished or in need of repair. The real-life obstacle may have no set path, so you might have to figure your own way thruogh it. Since you couldn't see outside, the blazing of your own trail will probably take all of your attention.

When the bridge shakes and you run back, that probably means you will know that danger lies ahead and give up passing this obstacle. The fact that it is your hometown is to give you moral support, make you feel safer. The bridge collapses, leaving no way left to pass this obstacle.

I have to go now, I'll try and add on tomorrow.
      Live for the day.

      Continued

I have thought more thuroughly about your dream, and I think a few things I said were wrong. The scaffolding mixed with the plane is more likely to mean that the bridge has been destroyed and rebuilt in the past so if you wait , you can cross.

Now for the rest... You saw yourself fleeing the town, right? The plane that crashes into the town is saying that its not safe to stand idly by and wait for something to happen. The crowd is once again meant that you aren't alone, that there are many paople on the move. Everyone's panic from the crash means that they still think there is more danger, there might be, keep moving; doing what you are doing in real life.

Your new friends are there, wondering about you. They sound concerned for your safety, those are good friends. I don't know why you would tell them you are on the bridge though, maybe you are confused or don't want them to know your buisiness. One way or another, the symbols hint that it might not be a good idea to lie to your friends.

The music simply serves to add mood to your dream and make it that much more of a nightmare.

I think your dreams ARE connected, in the second dream, there is a sense of fear and the presense of water. I think it means you will find another way across the water (your obstacle in life).

Keep an eye out for similar events or signs in your dreams, water seems to be one of your personal signs.

Also, I know this sounds more like a horoscope than an interperetation, but most of the time these deal with big events in your life. All-in-all, I'd say be honest with your friends, all of them and don't catch yourself being lazy. At least not for long periods of time. :banned:

If this helps you at all, let me know, K?

Thanks for your reply! It seems pretty good, although you say water is one of my personal signs. I can see why this may be (as it features in both dreams), yet it could just be that I come from the coast, and I'm now living miles away from the sea (yet right next to a lake), and it's just that large bodies of water or the sea remind me of home?

You also say about not being lazy. Well, that could be a sort of warning as I am one of those people that can be quite laid back and that can be defined/misinterpreted as laziness. The dream could be a way of saying that this needs to change as there is an obsticle or challenge in the near future that needs me to concentrate or work hard on it.

      Again, thanks for your reply.
