At the pet shop...

I keep having recurring sequences in dreams where I am at a pet shop (not the same one every time), looking at pets. Once it was a shop full of exotic pets like nightjars and dog-sized bats (I picked up the bat--it was soft and fuzzy), and in several others I was looking at guppies (I used to raise them, I have always wanted to start up the hobby again). I never buy any pets... I just look at them and am utterly fascinated. Sort of like window shopping. Any ideas to what these sequences might mean? I have a feeling it might have something to do with wanting things I can't get--I have self-esteem issues and am always comparing myself to others in terms of artwork and grades. But I'm not sure, because in the dreams I'm not pining for the pets, I'm just looking at them. What are your guys' interpretations?

Do you have any pets? Perhaps youre looking for the companionship of an animal?

Now, consider, one has recurrent dreams only because something is being left undone. And, in this regards I have an intuition as to what that something is... A very common mistake, in the dream realms, is to 'window shop', or when purchases are made, to make them while considering a budget. Silly, huh? When in a Dream and if one finds one's self in a Dream Store or Shop, then ALWAYS consider making a purchase. and then treat one's self like a King or Queen. Don't decide upon budgetting and scrimping and saving until one opens one's Dream Wallet and see whether or not you are flush or not. More often then not you may have skads of money. ITS A DREAM! Or you may have a Dream Platinum Card. So, whatever it is, BUY IT! In your particular Dream, with the Pet Shop, you are perhaps being asked by your Higher Self just what "Familiars" you wish to acquire for yourself. Or perhaps you are being given an opportunity to acquire new Qualities of Character. You would like the cunning of a Fox, the Loyalty of a Dog, the dignity of a cat, the Mysticism of a Bat.... then BUY the things. Finalize OWNERSHIP of these qualities. Now, you don't have to become Lucid in your dreams to be able to remember your suggested resolution to purchase the next time you dream of being in a Pet Shop. You only need to set up a program of Suggestion. You might set your digital watch to BEEP every 20 minutes or so during the day, and each time it beeps you can say to yourself, when in DreamStores BUY BUY BUY. Now, at achool or work people might ask what all the beeping is. I always say that it is a reminder to think of my French Phrase of the Day... and thank God that nobody is curious enough to ask me exactly what the French Phrase of the Day is, or I would have to think of something. Thank you for your reply, Leo! I think I will definitely consider that in the future. The pets in my dreams are always ones that I want but that I can't really get in real life, so perhaps it is personifying characteristics that I wish I had. Thank you for your great suggestions. But I wonder what characteristic a guppy would personify...

Hi Mew kitty SHOPS : the things you want and do not have PETS: playfulness .. wanting to have fun ... simple unthreatening enjoyments Well many dreams will reveal your inner thoughts. It maybe is not easy. Shops can be symbols of your wishes.. yet if you stay outside the shop its maybe refering to something that you do not want.. if you really wanted it then you would go in When you get a shop dream next time then think of the day before and then think of the following quotes - "what I want from a friendship is..." - "I want to ..." - "everything is possible right now" - "what I would really like is " - "what I want and what he wants from a relationship are maybe very different" - "I really want to find some time to do this" Think how those phrases linked withn in your own thinking the previous day. Sirbob, your interpretation actually makes a huge amount of sense! I've recently been fretting more than usual about college, and what I should do for a career, and what all my options are in life. It makes a lot of sense that I would start having these sorts of dreams that symbolize looking through all the wishes that I have.
