      sex with a friend

hello everyone! i'm new to the forum and i've had the same dream a few times now. The guy in the dream is a friend of mine that I've known for a couple of years and is a year older than me (I'm 17 if it matters). In the dream, I'm at home with my friend and let me say now, that I have absolutely no feelings whatsoever for this guy. In my dream we are watching some movies and it gets late so he decides to spend the night and goes into my room, takes off his shirt and throws it onto a chair in my room and does the same with his jeans. At this point I can only see what's going on in my room but no other parts of the house. I come in my room and change into my pajamas (short shorts and a tank top) and get into bed. We just look at each other for a bit and then for whatever reason I freak out (I think at this point I was making a conscious decision) and run out of the room. While I'm gone he's just sitting there confused and when I come back in he says something along the lines of "what was that?" and i respond with "oh i thought my parents were home but it was the neighbors' car." after which i get back in bed. Then we start kissing and touching each other and he pulls my top off. After some more making out I get up from the bed (and I think this part I also kind of decided to do) and go to the closet, rummage around, and pull out a condom (there aren't any condoms in my closet) and when he sees it, he says something like "whoa, don't you think we should wait? i don't think you're ready for that." so then i seem miffed about it and sit down on the bed and look at him and he says "c'mon don't be like that" and then i start freaking out and saying stuff like "don't you love me? why don't you want me? blah blah blah" and run into my bathroom and lock myself in it. i can't see in my bathroom so i can see him sit up and rub his head. i can hear crying from the bathroom and then later i come back out and he tosses my top to me and i pull it on. then i sit next to him and apologize and he says something like "i do love you, but you're not ready to do this and i know you'll regret it later, trust me." i distinctly remember him saying "trust me". then we laid down and he put his arms around me and we fell asleep and then i remember there being a long period of time (although i guess i can't judge length of time since it was a dream) where i was just watching but nothing was actually happening. we were just sleeping and thats always when i wake up. If it helps I haven't had sex before, nor am i in any type of relationship right now. sorry this is so long but I tried to give as much detail as possible so it'd be easier for any of you to interpret! anything will help because this is making me feel awkward. Thanks!

Wow! That's quite a profound dream, a lot of detail I bet you could not have made up. You were out of character, and seeing yourself in third person. It almost seems like it's about the future, but I doubt that.
It does raise into question, what really is the meaning of sex in dreams? because everything's symbolic. Your friend could represent himself, but more likely it's your feelings for him OR his character qualities. And the sex might be self compromise for such qualities.

For dream interpretation, I don't agree that everything has symbolic meaning. At least keep in mind the possibility, catherine, that this dream is just different parts of your mind being given free rein, and has no symbolic meaning whatsoever. Just consider it.

If indeed you have no feelings for this guy in real life, that's probably the truth. Don't start pursuing anything just from this dream, incase it doesn't have any meaning. Don't let it make you feel awkward, since in some dreams you will be a completely different person than in real life.

This dream is not about sex, it's about TRUST, you trust your friend more than you trust yourself and would like to be more like him.

This is your subconscious saying to you, 'Don't get involved with some guy right now. Wait, so you can be with sloth!'
