I had a dream last night that I was spending the night in a school. Whilst staying there I was shown a painting of an evergreen tree with branches that grew upwards against a background of a midnight blue sky. In the sky was lightning and this lightning had been painted as touching the ends of the branches of the tree. I felt a strong connection to this painting.

In the dream I was told by the headmistress of the school that a day pupil of the school had won the right for the minister of her pagan religion to visit her. I dismissed her beliefs as 'hocus pocus' in my dream. I watched as the minister entered and held up paintings. I remember him holding up one painting which depicted people standing up, but without their feet touching the ground. A line of light was painted travelling up from their stomach region to just under their chins. The people's faces were expressionless and behind the people was a violet/ grey sky.

The pagan minister enthusiastically told all who were listening that this painting was important and meaningful - but his reasoning to me didn't make sense- it felt as though he didn't know its meaning - just that it was 'important' in some way to his beliefs. I explained to him that I thought the painting was trying to convey that despite the fact that the sky was dark and it seemed to be approaching night-time, the people still carried a form of light. This to me meant the obvious - that they could still 'see' despite the oncoming darkness. I didn't really connect with this painting, but I felt I understood part of what its message was.

What do other people think that this dream could mean? Insight would be appreciated!
