Hi everyone.
Just sharing some possible interpretations that I came up with of some of my dreams. Please feel free to agree, disagree or comment. But please don't flame (me or others). Please feel free to comment on the dream or/and its possible interpretation.
I had originally put this is another forum (not a dream forum):
Note: Milarepa (Tibetan guru, one of the greatest) did say dreams are unreal and to be regarded as illusions. However, dreams are not entirely worthless, as he went on to interpret Gampoba's (Milarepa's heart disciple) dream. I think it was Naropa (or was it Tilopa) who said that one should meditate on the profound significance of dreams.
Note: For this dream, I did not get the sense that it was a spiritual dream. So one need not regard it too seriously.
Had this dream recently:
(brief summary, only main details included)
My friend Wayne (nick here is "Buddho") and I got off an MRT station. Then we are supposed to head our separate ways as we live in different areas of Singapore.
However, we still travelled in the same direction. I flew first and he was on the ground. Later, he flew and I was on the ground, running along with him and keeping to his pace. As he was flying fast, in order not to fall behind, I was running fast too, like the comic superhero Flash.
At that time in the dream, I thought to myself: "Isn't he supposed to be travelling in another direction?"
Interpretation (Brief):
1) Though we (Wayne and I) may have seemingly different spiritual destinations, we still travel along the same path to our own individual goals. Just as there are many streams that lead to the vast ocean, so too do all the Buddhist traditions, seemingly different, will lead to the same goal of Enlightenment.
2) Wayne and I will both reach certain heights in our spiritual progress in this life and beyond, symbolized by the "flying" in the dream. The "flying" denotes a sense of liberation, just as Nirvana is liberation from Samsara.
Originally I had put this up in another forum (not a dream discussion forum).
Glossary.
Mrt: Mass Rapid Transit (like an electric train I suppose)
Here goes:
Note: I also did not get the sense that this was a spiritual dream, so there's no need to take it too seriously either.
Another dream I had recently (briefly):
I was with some friends. Then I heard or somehow know there was an accident involving the MRT train. It had gone off the rail track. I went to take a look.
But when I went to take a look, it (the mrt train) was back on track.
This part I am not so sure: I thought I saw people lifting up the mrt train to put it back on track.
What I am sure is: I took a photo of the mrt train.
Then dark clouds were coming, and somehow I knew some terrible calamity or danger was coming. My friends and I then took our belongings and what looks like food and stuff from a party from the table back into a private estate kind of house (semi-detached or bunglow).
Interpretation:
1) The Mrt train represents that I might go off track in my spiritual path every now and then.
2) The people who help carry the train and put it back on track represents my brothers and sisters in the Dharma, who are there to help me and will help me get back on the right track.
3) In my spiritual path, I am likely to encounter great danger (signified by the danger I felt in the dream, and the impending dark clouds and storm), but I will receive protection (as symbolized by the house, which offers me shelter) from my brothers and sisters in the Dharma, and in a broader sense, from the Dharma itself.
4) The photograph I took represents that my experiences in my spiritual path will be captured for posterity, or for future generations to benefit from knowing about my experiences.
