Turning Down A Crown.

In this dream I came off some ship and there were many treasures. As I was steping out onto land from the ship, some man working at the ship pointed to a beautiful jewel/diamond encrested crown/tiara and he offered to give it to me. I looked at it and a thought came across my mind that I am fortunate as is for the things I have in life and I don't feel right taking the crown since I don't exactly "need" it and thought that some other girl out there must need it more than me, so I told the man that I'm not going to take it because I want someone else to have it who needs it more than I. I felt like it was rude of me to walk away with nothing since the man was offering me the crown, so I looked back at the ship which had other jewelery and I picked up a silver necklace. What could this dream be trying to tell me?

My guess is that you either let an opportunity pass you or your mind is trying to fulfill a desire to be able to exercise this behavior. In reality would you do the same?

It is always this question of what should we take with us and what should we rather leave. I don't talk only about materialistic things but also about our choices in which way to go... As one cannot have everything, one has to always decide what would be of a significant value in life and what can be left behind. Choosing the necklace (of a lower value) might prove you modesty and understanding of the needs of others.

well, the crown could symbolize power/responsibility. The fact that you turned it down and took the necklace instead could show that you value a simple life (simple necklace) then a large cumbersome life (represented by the crown). Or you could just be dam nice =P

I do want a simple life for the most part which I could thoroughly enjoy instead of an overly lavish life for which I would have to work so hard for that the enjoyment of having it would be lost.
