Strange Dream - Need Assistance with Interpretation

So, I've been having this really odd dream every night for the last week or so. It's incredibly vivid and has been almost impossible for me to figure out. Anybody with any sort of notion as to what it all means is heartily invited to speak up.

Here it is, in all it's super-embarrassing glory:

It's sunset. I'm in the middle of this large, old forest. Just standing there, with no shoes on. All of the trees are very tall and cast lots of shadows down to the forest floor. The base of everything is covered in ivy. It looks like a place I used to go when I was a little kid, but older and more dangerous. The forest itself is not comfortable by any stretch of the imagination.

Then Narcissus shows up. Of mythological fame. He's been running through the woods, and seems distressed; like he's being chased. He doesn't look specifically like how I'd normally picture Narcissus, or even in accordance with the Greek ideals of beauty. I don't know why, but he's got a crown of dead leaves on his head. When I see him, I feel like I'm looking at a piece of Autumn - he's got very red hair and very white skin.

He hands me a pair of shoes made out of tiny glass flowers and says: "Things must keep their secrets".

I feel like 'secrets' are supposed to be something else when he says this. Sort of like he's using the wrong word.

Some nights, I put the shoes on. Most of the time, I just hold them.

Narcissus goes running deeper into the forest, and as he goes the ivy begins to grow up the trees very quickly. Like in those documentaries where they film a flower opening over, like, a month and then speed it up so that it takes a minute. While the ivy grows, the sky goes to night. There's no moon, though, just stars.

Then a young punk girl comes towards me out from the darkness; she melts from the shadows. Not punk like that New Punk, like 1980's CBGB kind of stuff. She doesn't speak, but I know she's looking for Narcissus.

I point her in the wrong direction, and she goes down the path I indicate. It's in completely the opposite direction of the one she wants.

When I see Narcissus, despite his looking totally different, I'm completely aware of who I'm looking at. With the girl it's different. When I'm awake, I tend to logic out that she must be Echo chasing after her ill-chosen man. But, when I'm actually 'inside' the dream, I never think it's her.

And that's it. It's a very short dream, I suppose, but for some reason it stays with me all day. I'm absolutely certain that it's trying to tell me something, I just can't begin to decipher what.

All thoughts or insights highly appreciated!

      Ok, heres a guess.
I assume you are male. You know someone who gets girls easily. Or maybe you don't know him personally, it could be a movie star, or just someone you imagine.
You envy him because of that. your craving manifests itself as this dream.
Narcissus: a men who can get any girl, but doesn't even appreciate how lucky he is
Shoes: Symbolizes this ability. You don't have them, Narcissus have them but doesn't want them.
Punk girl: She wants Narcissus, you don't want her to find him because of your envy, so you give her the wrong direction.
A generous heart, kind speech, and a life of service
and compassion are the things which renew humanity.

Nope. I'm a girl - very happily, I might add. Thanks for your intpretation, but it doesn't really fit me.

I probably should've mentioned my gender in my first post. My bad.

you are having a very difficult time. You stand before a path that is hard , not comfortable , confusing. Not familiar , changed a lot , not what you were used to. the shoes are a mean of getting a long. the comfier the shoes the better you will manage in what you are about to experience. You were bare footed , you are totally helpless especially with teh ivy. It means as you go along you're going to get hurt.

You get help , but really very little help from a very poor sourse. what is supposed to be the symbol of beauty and power , is now helpless and old. I donno what autumn really symbolises , oldness death , whatever but it's not soemthing fresh soemthing new. So the person that will hand you help is not in his best shape and is not what you expected him to be , you are dissapointed. But none the less you do get help.

The shoes he hands you , very precious yet very fragile. meaning you have to be very careful...and they're probably uncomfortable aswell. So it wont be very much of a help and you have to be very careful with it.

Here i really don't know because you didnt say anything abou yourself. Usually dreams are pesonaly and every little symbol varies from one to the other. So maybe in your life you have this secret..or maybe someone has a secret and doens't want it to be out. Maybe you're snooping around in matters that don't concern you and you're going to get hurt because of it.

The guy hands you help and tells you an advice, I think you should listen to him.

There's no moon, though, just stars.

The help source is gone , so now things seem worst and you're on your own. The ivy grew , it's darker. Your path , you journey will become harder and scarier , and you're totally on your own maybe that's why it seems harder.

The moon , the main source of light isnt there , so your way will seem very dark and unknown , but the stars are still there , little sparkles of hope and guidness. It's not totally dark , which is good.

hm another hard one , again i do not know what a punk girl means to you. Did you listen to punk when you were a kid? did you know any one from your past that dressed like that or soemthing?

Punk usualy is all about anarchy , and braking the bounderies...freedome

so maybe that's what she symbolises

if it's you thne you totally fuck your way and you mess up and feel lost. But if it's someone else , hmm i donno maybe since she melted from the shadows , she's from the past , from the darkness. Maybe you want to escape your past , you tell her the wrong direction because you don't want her to find him. You may be jalous , you may want to hurt her on purpose , you want to get rid of her. I donno again it's up to you , you should know what she means to you

well hope i helped , do tell me if any of it seems logical and maybe if you'll add a few details it will clear somethings up , i'm really intrested to know what is it you're going to do that is going to be so hard

      good luck
