      Death in a Train

      Hello,

I had a dream recently, and I told it to my girlfriend (we were two weeks together at the time). She's really into dreams and symbols, so she told me she's gonna ask one of her friends about this dream. A few days later she broke up with me, even though things went really well.

The last few days I had a thought that the sudden break up was somehow related to this dream, so I hope someone here can interpret it for me.

I'm traveling with my girlfriend (let's call her Michelle) on a wierd train. The train is very very long, maybe a few miles long, and the track is more like a rollercoaster track, with a lot of slopes and curves. The train is going really fast, and I don't know exactly how, but there's a way to see what happens in the road ahead, so I can tell for example if there's a big curve 2 miles ahead. Anyway, after a few minutes I see that there's a broken rail a few miles ahead, and I see the front cars are crashing, one after another. I understand that it means that in a few seconds we will crash as well. Everyone start to panic, and I start to cry and shout, and Michelle cries too. After a few seconds of trying to find a way out of this, I give up, hug Michelle and tell her that everything's gonna be fine. We're getting close to the broken rail, and then I wake up.

      Thanks.

I'm trying to understand train dreams just now too. I think it's something to do with how we see our path through life. Is it pre-determined like a train on a track? Or can we wander off the track? And how does that feel for us? Free or scary?

So your train and track is long. It's also broken. You know that what you thought would be your future probably won't be unless the track is repaired (whatever that means to you). Michelle is probably not the real person but your inner dream lover. The fact that you're together in your dream is encouraging as it shows you have not repressed the part of you that relates to women and that the whole of you is on this journey together.

I suspect you woke up because you got to a point where you have no idea what will happen - i.e. what does the broken track mean? It's where you are now - nothing predictive. Mend that track and your train will run again.

well dreamns represent our own inner voice. That conversation with ourselves. That discussion within our mind about how things are going think of it this way
"i think my relationship with my girlfreind is going kind of OK"
"yet I worry that its a little hectic and chaotic. Its like a rollercoaster of a relationship. I can see problems ahead. We kind of connect but wooo "
In some cases you may have had this dream and later it turns out that the relationship was OK. the bdream merely captures your feelings AT THE TIME. its capturing a moment in time. A set of feelings that you felt then
Yet dreams can be premonitions. Its diffiuclt to tell. We can have
premnonitions but its difficult to tell if they are actually premonitions. Dream interpretation is really not that good. I doknow that you would of course be having your doubts as well as monitoring how well certain aspects of the relationshipwere going. If this is sopme sort of premonition then its likel many.. almost impossible to tell if its one..

Its amazing how good the TV reality show Big Brother is in understanding dreams. Occasionally contestants discuss
their dreams. The cause of dreams is usually hidden in the events and feelings from the day before. The show itself
highlights any pyschological changes within the contestants. They pick up on little changes in behavior and they
interview the contestants on a daily basis. Dreams tend to symbolise new thoughts and feelings. They may link to
some new thought being clarified within the dreamers mind. The whole days activity is crammed into a one hour show
at night and so any changes in the contestants are neatly cut into sound bite size. The meaning of any one dream
could even be traced back to one TV clip where a contestant actually says what is on their mind. They cannot hide
from the cameras. The inner workings of their mind are on total view. Even the slightest smile or frown is picked
      up.
