I often find myself surfing the web for hours on end to find out the possible meaning of a recent dream. Almost always to no avail. I'm new to the site and I'm still learning my way around. Hopefully someone can point me in the right direction if I'm in the wrong place! Last night I had a dream that has been bothering me since I remembered it. I was sitting on my couch watching "Something's Gotta Give" and this image from a dream I had last night popped into my head. Out of nowhere. It was my closet. There was a shirt I had given to a friend who liked it a few months ago. It was hanging there alone. No clothes around it. I can't understand for the life of me what it meant. Anything would be awesome! -Nick

Welcome to DV! My personal view is that regular dreams aren't significant enough to be interpreted. HEy Welcome! I agree with her as well.. let me tell you a little about my dream"views" I found this site on dreammoods.com that is a dream interpretation site. I got interested in interpreting my dreams so I would try and see what they ment, never feeling satisfied with the results. But Lucid dreaming and this website has lead me to so much knowledge of dreeams, its incredible. My view of dreams, and why I do not interpret them anymore is this.. there is a theory called the "Daily Residue" theory and it basically explains the content of your dreams. And what it means is that, the most random stuff that happens to you in your waking life, ( stuff you dont even notice) (ExP. One day you hear the words "Robbed a Bank") you hear this, and you may not even notice it your brain just takes it in. And that night, you may dream of robbing a bak, or something associated with it. Dreaming of Robbing a Bank would be due to "daily residue" Its just random stuff that you encounter over the period of a day or two, and it just comes back in your dreams with no significance. Now, I do know a lot of people believe there are great meanings to their dreams, and to this I say Absolutely. But, I believe its not to straight forward as what they think. I think the majority of our dreams are just random stories played out by our brain. But it does relate to you, because everthing you dream about is something you have experienced before. So you can learn from your dreams but when you go to a site and type in "long alley way" as your dream to have in interpreted and it says "This dream means you are experiencing a lack of love in your life" I find that bullshit. All of us humans experience things differently, therefore what one dream experience might mean for one person, it most deffinitely does not mean the sam efor another. We are all different and our dreams are unique to ourselves. That is why I dont interpret them (on the computer.) You can interpret your dreams by how they relate to you, and how they make you feel... Anything would be awesome! -Nick Well you'll probably get as many different feedbacks as you will replies as dream interpretation is an inexact science to say the least. The stock response is "it depends what that shirt means to you". There are dream dictionaries on the web but it sounds like you've tried those and nothing sticks. Think about how you felt in the dream, or even how you feel now when bringing it to mind. What does it evoke? That may help you to find some kind of significance to the dream.
