      Do all dreams mean something...

just wondering if all dreams are tryign to tell you something or if maybe some are just there to keep you mind budy while you REM?

for example a dream i had
so it is in cartoon and Goofy (yes the Disney character) is in chains and shackles and is being escorted to a patty wagon by police. Rather then being is usual colour… he is black with a white belly… and covered in these disgusting white spots… and just before the police put him away he said “ don’t worry kids goofy will be back… when his leprosy is gone!” he said that between those weird goofy laughs.

the only reason i had that dream is because i was watching the simpson valentines enpisode eariler that day... goofy is in the dog pound in shakles and it thown in a gas chamber...
google watch simpsons online for free and watch epsoide 1912 if you wanna know what i mean... i think it's called spingfield love canal or something...

so do you think in a case like that a dream has meaning... or no

I think some do, in the sense that they don't only reflect what we have done the previous day(s), but our thoughts and feelings that we had over the same period of time.

I also think that when we take control over and change a lucid dream, it loses its meaning.

dreams reflect on the thoughts of your subconcious, some symbols in the dream in there that stands out have some sort of message, including repetitive usage of a single color

Dreams could have a variety of meanings. They may link to the following

      1. noises around you such as radios or tvs left on during sleep.
      2. Wanting to go to the toilet.
      3. Inner feelings in the mind. Ideas and strategies about tasks in life
      4. strong new feelings. Eg if you wake up happy or sad

I would not be surprised if we can have many types of dreams. I believe also in premonitions and telepathy.

It is not easy trying to distinnguish between various types of dreams

      ------------------------
Always remember that deep inside a dream is hidden conceptual feelings and ideas. A dream does not capture the surface details of something. It is not an information gatherer. It is not an essay about facts. So if you had a dream about the D Day landings in world war two it would not be a list of facts surrounding the beaches that took place and the course of events. The dream instead makes some point about the facts. Its an idea that underlies the dream. So try to then understand the dream by sensing what those new ideas are within your mind. So if you realise that the previous day you were thinking about the economic system in which you live and the pressures placed upon you then you know know what the dream could mean. Your dream could represent the thoughts within your midn concerning this. So then try to test out this theory. See if the symbols seem consistent with the dream. Could the dream link to this new conceptual idea as it forms in your mind?

I find that it helps me, if I'm interested in analysing a dream, to look at the emotions contained in it. That usually gives me a big clue to what the dream means, rather than looking solely at the symbology within it. I too believe there are many types of dream though and that we dream for different reasons. Some dreams that prove to be precognitive, I think are a throwback to ancient times when we were more in touch with our subconscious and took notice of "warnings" our senses gave us.

I'm not very experienced at dreams but I can guess that sometimes a dream is just a Dream. I had a reallly messed up dream last night where i was kidn of like in the future and i was attacking this thing that is kind of like a worm...only 5000x bigger and longer. I was attacking it with two forks that were covered in mustard. (wtf? lol) And i kept waiting for it around corners.

A lot of dreams mean something. I was researching the Dream Dictionary with things from my dreams that ive had, after reading them it gives me a lot of clues as to why i had the dream. I had some very disturbing dreams when i was in my last relationship. One of them where I was at my school next to my truck and this old lady talks to me and tells me my girlfriend died. I kenw the old lady was an angel even though she didn't look like it. The weather was very gloomy - looking like it was going to rain soon. andi ran to my truck opened my door and called my gf (my truck was the cell phone i didn't pull out one lol). Then i broke down and i was tarnsported to The Grinder (local restraunt that I always go to) and the old lady was sitting next to me at the counter.

That dream disturbed me A LOT. And just a few nights ago when i was looking at the dream dictionary, the different words like angel, weather, school, car(truck), etc, had very specific meanings that when added together summed up my feelings, fears and anxiaties.

      Thats what i think.
