Hi chillhat,
I think that the dreams are commenting on your situation but unlike what many people believe about dreams, I know how difficult it is to accurately uncover their meaning and how much care must be taken when trying to decipher their message in an accurate way. So because I don’t know anything about your background etc., please take the following as being just some general ideas about them and what they might be trying to say to you in a broad way.
The idea of fruits such as the reference to lemon and papaya in your dream is probably linked to the outer world in general with its many pleasant aspects (sweet taste) while the seeds of fruits suggest potentials. Of course, fruit is also connected with temptation, e.g. the apple in the Garden of Eden for example. So it looks like the dream is commenting on your situation in general as you start out in life
It might be that the dream is partly saying that in order to decide among various tempting opportunities that will be presented to you in the future (10 cups of orange juice), there will be a need to sort, discriminate, classify and rank things by thinking about them (represented by the image of your father).
It’s just a guess, but the dream might also be saying that although you are generally willing to accept that not every choice will result in pure pleasure (prefer the sweet/sour taste of the one orange juice), perhaps you might tend to sometimes underestimate how tart or unpleasant the “taste” might end up. This idea is based on the fact that while lemon and papaya have a similar effect, papaya is even used to tenderize meat, suggesting a much more acidic and “hard to take” aspect of things. Your current dilemma therefore might be one where there is not really too good an outcome at this time although the overall situation may change in the future for example.
The second dream might be commenting further on this idea about the need to think, but perhaps the idea is that you could tend to overdo it (too many fans on) since the image of moving air is often linked to the wind, spirit, the intellect and thinking.
You might have become too unconscious (asleep) about the degree to which thoughts and opinions in general as found among your family, friends and even perhaps society in general are tending to influence you too much in your decision making about your career for example.
In the end, the dream shows that your mother knows best how to get just the right balance (how to switch on the one correct fan). She likely represents your natural instinct and feeling reactions as a woman which perhaps you need to keep up front more strongly when making decisions.
The third dream with its images of bus cards, train tracks and the big drain where your card is lying among everybody else’s perhaps is an echo of the first dream about the sweet orange juice that needs to be made a little less sweet.
That is, the only way to find yourself (various things you have lost) might be to face up to the unpleasant side of engagement with outer society (the drain). You may have to “go along” (riding a bus or train) with collective demands and expectations for a while in order to establish yourself at a certain level in everyday society. By keeping in mind your own deeply wished-for goals, you can gradually move toward fulfilling them in some way.
Analyst Marion Woodman has written a lot about the need women have to balance their own feelings with the demands of a generally “masculine” society. You might like to get a taste of her ideas as www.mwoodman.org for example or by browsing her books at a site like www.amazon.com
I hope these ideas will be help in some way to deal with your current dilemma.
