i know im a newbie to the site and i was originally part of dreammoods.com forums but lately their forums have been screwey and this looked like a very nice site (and it is! so far... loll) so i just wanted to know if you guys could interpret my dream for me.. thanks! (sorry guys i know its long but BEAR WITH ME AND THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!) i usually forget how my dreams start off and last nights dream was no different. in my dream i had superpowers: i could fly. ive had dreams like this before, dreams in which i was a superhero figure and that my power was flight (and im some cases strength, but not all cases), though last night all i could do was fly. the way that i fly through the air in mostly all of my dreams is with an extension of my arms in front of me with my hands in a fist. most of the time ill be flying with one hand but if i need more 'power' or more 'speed' ill either extend both arms or 'swim' through the air with a breastroke stroke. (weird, i know... and yes i am a swimmer, though i onyl swim freestlye ) so anyway, i was flying around the city (i live in nyc, though the cities in my dreams never look exactly like manhattan). at times i would just take off as i was walking, at other times i would contemplate where i wanted to go. after flying for some time, i found myself on a rooftop of a slightly tall building (not a skyscraper but maybe like 20 stories up). i would look down at the people below and they would randomly become bigger and almost as tall as the building but they would never see me up there. thats one thing, i would be flying like up the sides of buildings and i tell myself 'maybe i shouldnt do this, people will see me' and yet no one ever seemed to see me fly. except, ugh i ahte this i always forget, but i met this guy and i forget HOW i met him but i THINK he saw me flying. then he forgot and he was just speaking to me. we walked around together for a bit and then we went into this business-type building. all of a sudden some business people came in. we got the feeling that we werent supposed to be in this biulding, as it was so classy, so we walked up this set of stairs (it was like in a semi circle and there were only about 25 or so steps in it, not even!) and then we realized that the people were following us so we went down an escalator back to where we came from. this whole time i was kinda 'dragging' him along by holding his hands. as we neared the doorway to leave again i felt the sudden need to slide my fingers through his fingers and hold his hand not just as a dragging grasp but as a boyfriend/girlfriend might do. he did the same and we walked out of the door hand in hand. (note: i would never do that in real life... although i am 17, i have not had a real boyfriend and i have never once held a guys hand like that -_- i know im a loser ) so then we walk a few paces to where a classy mcdonalds building (which is connected to the building we just walked out of) is and we stand in front of it. i stop him, take him by the shoulders and say 'i have to tell you soemthing' (even tho i thikn he saw me fly before, as of this moment i know that he DOESNT know that i have superpowers and i wanted to show him this). so i grabbed him by the waist with one hand and i tried to take off into the sky. it gets weird here. cause i remember not being able to fly with him, because he seemed like an extra weight... just like when im swimming in real life and someone grabs ahold of my feet its harder to swim. well i felt the same way when i was flying and i dont think we even made it off the ground. however, i remember landing with him to another place in town about 100 yards away from a giant building collapse. i asked him what was happening and he says 'oh yea the _______ building was supposed to collapse today' (i think it was the new victory building? i duno it was a made up name in my dream that i forget right now) and then i remember thinking 'wait, how did he know that this was going to happen?' then i remember him saying 'yea and the world trade centers are supposed to collapse today also' when i woke up just a few moments later i was still in a state of semi-dreaming and i remembr thinking 'wait a second, he can see the future! except he doesnt know his superpower yet, thats why he said those statements in such a nonchalant way!' and then my mom called me to get out of bed so my dreaming was completely over after that. a few other details: in real life i am a little overweight, long black curly hair, and a bit muscular (i have a picture in my profile, though its not the best one). however, in my dream i seem to rememebr that i looked almost like jean grey (you know, in x-men?) with long wavy reddish hair and slightly skinnier. however, i was still myself with my own brain my own personality (pretty much), just a different look. the guy was no guy that i knew, he was an almost completely made up person. he somewhat resembled this guy that i knew (i never liked him or was involved with this guy in real life at all, though) in both looks and personality. he was skinny, not muscular but not a stick either, with short black/brown hair, big eyes, a wide smile and around my height (about 5'7"ish). the dream guy was very sarcastic, funny, yet a lot nicer than the guy that i know in real life. i never found out his name in the dream and i dont recall ever giving him my name either. so i think thats it. thats my dream in a nutshell.... a very LARGE nutshell lol sorry for it being so long but this dream has been troubling me all day and ive had a very depressing day so it would be nice if you could help me out here. also, as i have said, i am 17 and i have not had anny real boyfriends. i want to be in love, i can interpret that much of myself and my dream. and i love fiction, which explains my wanting to fly. however, i just dont know what this dream means. and i want to have another one of these dreams but any lucid dreams, such as this, are completely random! so thank you for all of your help, thanks for reading this, and im guna go now and watch A Beautiful Mind lol... You sound worried in a few places about people seeing you and judging you badly, both when you're flying and in the restaraunt. It sounds like at least in the dream you're tending towards low self-esteem, especially around people you don't know. The part where you can't fly with the guy sounds like you might have been feeling that, even if you find the right guy, for some reason that you don't understand, you just can't make it work out. I say "even if you find the right guy," because you probably feel like you haven't yet, am I right? Not that you haven't liked anyone, but that you're probably still interested in meeting someone new?
