      Smile Dream with 3 Themes

      hi everyone,
last night i had the weirdest dream. please forgive me if this post is long but i wanted it to be as detailed as possible...
      my dream had 3 themes:
theme 1: I dreamt that I was on a very high wooden pier. It was about dusk and there were cliffs in the background. The water was far below the pier but pretty shallow and i could see giant tilapias swimming below. There was a handful of families on the pier, some where trying to bait the fish, others were trying to climb down the pier to catch the fish with their hands. I started to climb down one of the pier's legs but as i got a quarter of the way down, giant cat fish leaped up and tried to eat me. They were even able to jump to the side of the pier! Me and the other "climbers" made a narrow escape.

theme 2: Then i dreamt i found a pair of high end sunglasses on the ground, near a play ground of my elementary school. i wanted to keep them to give to a cousin but a girl saw me and accussed me of trying to steal them! i laughed at her and pulled out my own personal pair which were newer and far more expensive than hers. Then, i dreamt that i was in the library with my childhood next door neighbors. When we were younger, we were in a program for gifted kids and i dreamt that we were still in that program, but we were adults. In my dream, we had a project due and if you didnt complete the project, youd be kicked out of the program. Everyone was trying to get me to start the project but I wasnt motivated. I replied, "this club is over rated, anyway. i dont need to be a member to feel validated."

theme 3: i was in a grocery store with my mother and aunt and a younger man walked by with his toddler daughter; both had red hair.in my dream, the man was my aunt's neighbor. my aunt said "hi" to the man but he ignored her. so, i followed the man and asked him why he was rude to my aunt, and he replied,"because she is like 80 years old!" My aunt is not 80. she is only 42 and married with kids. in real life she doesnt try to pick up men, nor was she trying to in my dream. she was just being a polite neighbor.

      Real Life Info About myself:
i am 22, with a boyfriend. I just finished college this spring and am living with parents until i start my new career in August. My mother loves having me at home and doesnt want me to move out. Thank you so much for all those who are willing to help me and i hope to learn enough from DreamViews os that i can help other interpret their dreams, too

      Hello,
It's good to remember as many details in dreams as possible, there can never be too many details! The smallest detail can make a big difference, I've found. I'd say all three dreams address different problems that are all connected to your life currently.

Lets take a look at your first dream.

You say you've just left college and are ready to start a career. Your first dream reflects this. Being on a high wooden pier signifies your emotions and readiness for you to grow. Being so high up could mean that it's challenging you mentally, almost as if it's too hard to think about. The fact the pier was made from wood backs this up. Wood can also signify that the situation is draining your emotions.
Standing on a pier represents self-reflection and an introspect into your unconscious. You are ready to explore and grow as an individual.
The dream was at dusk, dusk signifies that the current situation with your mother is causing you 'gloom' and your hopes are clouded with a dark outlook. But you must also remember to every dusk, there is a dawn. This outlook will pass eventually as your mom comes to term that you must move on in your life. The cliffs surrounding the area are basically the potential you have in your life, the paths you will take, and your ambitions and choices.
Water in dreams represents our emotions and our unconscious, intuitive self. It can also represent our hopes and desires. You say it was 'far below' This tells me that you feel emotional disconnected from the situation, and maybe you feel that your hopes and dreams seem far away. The water was shallow, suggesting that you may be afraid of delving too deep into your own emotions - or even acknowledging the emotional depths of others.
To see fish is again about insights from your unconscious. It's important to note that you knew what type of fish it was. Tilapia is an important fish because it grows fast and at a large rate. This may indicate that at the moment, you're undergoing a rapid growth, either outwardly or inwardly - or perhaps both. There are many insights before you for you to grasp. There could be many opportunities before you. Seeing other families catching the fish is your unconscious telling you that you wish your family were more supportive in your everday life. You wish they'd be more helping with your choices and 'catches' - your future and your ideals. Alternatively, it could be that watching others catch the fish with their hands, is basically your need to follow the example of others, and grasp life firmly with both hands. Take opportunities when they appear.
Going down the pier, could basically mean that you're going 'down' the wrong path. You might have made a wrong decision, or you may do so soon. Or even, it could be your fears about making a wrong decision. The cat fish could be a person, or situation that enforces this fear, but you manage to escape it in the end. You will be able to move past this fear, which shows that you'll be given a choice to take another path.

      Second dream:

Seeing some sunglasses on the floor, could mean you need to look at something in your life. Since it was in a playground outside a school, it could be something from your childhood. Maybe this again is about your mother - she still sees you as a child, yet you no longer are. A cousin represents a part of ourselves that is familiar - you wanted to keep the glasses, but for your 'cousin'. Basically, this could mean you wanted to keep your comfort and familiarity of your childhood. A girl accused you of stealing them, this is basically your conscious telling you that you feel you should move on, basically 'you can't have that - that's stealing.'
You view it in a lighthearted and positive way by laughing, and take out some high end glasses. This is your new view on life, your adult life. You felt a need to show the girl your glasses - maybe you're trying to prove to others that you have changed and you have something better now.
Seeing yourself in a library shows that you're evaluting life, and looking to your past to see how to react in the future. Look at what qualities your old neighbors had. Were they friendly and helpful? If so, this could idicate your need for friends to help you in your current situations. You also said that you were in a program for gifted children, and you dreamt that you were still now as adults - yet it wasn't the same this time, as you didn't want to complete the project. It shows a major transformation in yourself, as you said, you didn't need to be in the club to feel you were gifted. You've proved to yourself you're gifted and don't need to complete anything, or show anything to anyone to know that you are. This shows how much you've grown since the time of your childhood. But maybe those around you haven't so much.

      Last dream:

To dream that you are in a grocery store, represents some emotional or physical need that you are currently lacking in your life. You may be in need of nurturance and some fulfillment. Your mother backs this up by being there, as she is the part of yourself that is nurturing. Your aunt could be a part of yourself that is causing the problem - you say in the dream she was just trying to be polite - and the man says she's too old. He takes it the wrong way. This mean two things. One, that you're not happy about growing old. And two, people sometimes interpret you wrongly and take what you've said the wrong way, even though you meant well. To see a man in your dream, denotes the masculine aspect of yourself - the side that is assertive, rational, aggressive, and/or competitive. The toddler may represent an aspect of yourself that is vulnerable and helpless. Red hair represents that both of these aspects of yourself will help you bring about the change you need and by looking at how they apply to you, they will give you more courage and power.

I hope that helped! Having three dreams in a row shows that this problem is being processed through your dreams - hence it helps you deal with it in your daily life. I hope all goes well with you and you gain something from this. I look forward to seeing your future intepretations and gaining insight from you as well!

thank you! you really put in a lot of time and effort for me...and i can relate to a lot of what you said. it is true, i do feel as if my family is not being supportive, i do have emotional detachment to a lot of situations, and ive been presented with a lot of opportunities that i just didnt care enough to jump on. I especially related to what you said about "thats not right, thats stealig." that is how i feel about living at home. i had the opportunity to start my new career sooner, but i chose to postpone it so i can stay with my mother. However, i cant help but feel as if i am "stealing" from myself, because theres money to be made but (here I am living as if I am still a child!). i cant wait for my new dream books to come so i can help you, too. But since i am still new, i hope when i add insight (even if it isnt as detailed as the more experienced ones) you wont laugh... i just really want to help you the way you helped me thanks again!!
ps. sorry if this doesnt make sense. i am so tired but i really wanted to leave the feedback asap

      Hiya,

Interpreting dreams means using your intuition, look at the symbols and see how they relate to things in real life. Then also, there are free and good dream dictionaries on the internet that help me as well for reference and to back up my thoughts, such as this one: http://dreammoods.com/ But it's always important to use your intuition first.

I think it's great you want to learn from dreams, it shows that you want to develop mentally and spiritually from them! I wont laugh at your interpretations, everyone starts somewhere (I started by trying to understand my own, and then trying to understand and bore my friends and family to death with theirs!) and to be honest, I still have a lot to learn as well. So we can learn together! I think you have a lot of potential if you are sincerely interested in dreams, which you seem to be
