      seemingly "NORMAL" dreams?

Lately I've been having very "normal" dreams. Meaning, things that could be everyday--no extreme emotion involved, nothing really out of the ordinary, just dreaming about things I do/that could happen on any given day.

They've seemed very "rational" in that the objects and people in them I know and am familiar with. Everyday things like, checking email, watching the weather, whatever.

I've always had more strange dreams, so the fact that they're seemingly so "boring" lately has me more intrigued than usual.

Might be that you're starting to recall NREM dreams, which are supposed to be the way you described, instead of as many REM dreams, which are supposed to be the more crazy ones. I dunno, maybe an angle to look into?

Sadly many of my dreams are exactly like real life. That's why it's so hard to become lucidly aware. One time in a LD I just sat there on the couch watching tv. Another time I went to work. That's not too good especially when you later have to wake up and go to work AGAIN. Hopefully something strange will happen in my dreams or they will become more boring than real life.

Yeah this happens to me a lot.
I don't know much about the REM or NREM stuff so the only thing i can think of is everything in your life is pretty good right now?...Maybe

Then again I just read another paper saying that NREM and REM dreams are exactly the same except that REM dreams are longer.

God there needs to be more research on this stuff

Try spicing up your life. Do something out of the ordinary. Read a new book, go to the movies, go some place new.
If your life is in a rut your dreams will follow.
A lot of times, my dreams will be hum-drum, simply imitations of what I do throughout my day. But when something new enters, my dream life comes back to life.

Well, this is actually a good opportunity for you to increase lucidity.

Be more aware with the 'normal' stuff that you do irl, and remain detached.

Not a super long post, but that about sums it up for a suggestion.
You merely have to change your point of view slightly, and then that glass will sparkle when it reflects the light.
