      Interpretation of Dreams is Misguiding??

Looking through posts and many online websites, it seems as if dream interpretation is like astrology, a hit and miss game of theories and myths. I've thought that there has to be a generalised nature to interpret anything. Here is an example of a popular online dream dictionary interpretation, here is they're view on a beach in a dream.

      Beach

To dream that you are relaxing on a beach, signifies that the coming weeks will be calm and tranquil for you. Your stress will be alleviated and you will find peace of mind.

To dream that you are working on the beach, signifies a business project that will consume most of your time

Hell no, why would it be relaxing, ask a kiteboarder what he/she thinks of a beach and it becomes a whole mess of opinions. Doesn't anyone want to know where these meanings and connections come from, like how is a business prject related to crashing waves and sharks??
I don't think anyone can stand on two feet and give a concrete interpretation, but more as a team of people we can generalise what a dream could be classified/broken down as. Examples might be dreams of fear, suppression, love, hate, stress, ect ect. Some interpretations go too specific, and given that usually the person who had the dream isn't educated enough to interpret it themselves, and that the person doing the interpretation doesn't have a clue what the true feeling of the dream was, then it's not really an efficient practice.

      It's misguiding to a degree.

Just my personal opinionm after a few days of thinking on the matter. Thoughts??

      n00bs i love you

Yep - that's always been my beef with dream interpretation
The best person to understand your dream, is yourself - with some guidance on 'how'
Another person cannot accurately understand what your thoughts are about eg. beaches.
In addition, they cannot accurately understand all the nuances and the feelings of the dream

Some people have a knack for getting into peoples heads, and have some success at interpreting for others, but it's still a bit of a hit/miss situation - even at its best.
