Dream: Funny Food; Aug. 9, 2009

Dream: Funny Food; Aug. 10, 2009

This dream was so strange! I was in an unfamiliar house, though apparently mine in the dream, nice living room, well-furnished with a large sofa and coffee table. I was sitting at one end of the sofa, and a young woman, a visitor, was at the other end. We were talking. An older woman kept coming in and out of the room to bring us plates of food and refresh our drinks. I have no idea awake who either woman was, or why the older woman was serving us. I don't have servants.

I got caught up in examining the food that was being brought in. There was some sliced chicken breast, but it was GREEN! Then there was peanut butter, and it was PURPLE! I thought what kind of crazy food is this?

Meanwhile, the young girl was just chatting on and on, and I was getting a little tired, and was not in the mood to chat back at all.

Finally, I picked up a piece of the chicken and tried it, and was amazed to find out it was good! I handed a piece to the girl, and said, "Try this! It has pistachio nuts in it!" Then I looked more closely at the peanut butter and realized it had mashed berries mixed into into it, and thought that would be good too. EOD

Now, honestly, what kind of dream is that? Nutty one for sure between peanuts and pistachios.

I also posted some others in the area that allows precognitive dreams... maybe this one was just to relax me after having those to deal with... lol!

Any ideas welcome, because I'm not getting a lot of meaning from this one!

Did you become lucid? lol because you had a few WtF? dream signs in there. That is a very weird dream, maybe you were hungry? Maybe you wanted to feel the luxury of getting served. Who knows? It was a funny dream though lol. I say incorperate weird colored/ingredient foods into your mind to tell you "Hey im dreaming!" Next time you see green chicken

      Some thoughts

From reading your dream, I got the impression the dream was telling you to try new things which will bring good, positive outcomes! Even if trying new things seems like a bad idea at first (for instance, fear can stop us, we are the biggest barrier, or more accurate, our judgement stops us from trying things that are new)

An unfamiliar house, or surroundings (which seemed nice in your dream), can mean a change is nearby. And since it seemed like a nice place, it means good change (relating to the comfortable surroundings.) An house also represents our soul, and since it was unfamiliar, perhaps unexplored aspects of your soul.

I think this dream is also reflecting to you different aspects of yourself. In all people, not only women, there are three aspects of the psyche (which relates to the moon cycle), That is the maiden (waxing moon), the mother (full moon) and the crone (new moon). You might ask me why this is significant, but we all have these psyches within us. The maiden is the past us, how we were when we were young, how we grow into consciousness (and the young girl who you were relating to in the dream), the mother is us at our most fertile , we have awareness but still we have room for growth, and the crone is us after we have gone through lifes trials and have learnt our lessons (and in this dream, the crone appeared as an old woman serving you, perhaps meaning, the crone is now offering you her lessons in life).
She was also refreshing you with drink and food - nourishing you with the lessons of wisdom gained through experience.

Next, you say about the food being bizarre colours, this is where the symbols for trying new things stood out for me. Sometimes life offers us opportunitys that seem too wild and 'out there', or perhaps life throws us strange things so that we wake up and notice the truth. Regardless, in the dream (after getting tired of reflecting with the young girl, your inner maiden, your past self), you tried the chicken and tasted it - and surprisingly, it was good! You took the risk, and in the end it was worth it, even though it seemed weird to begin with. The dream is telling you not to judge things by appearance, and to just try new things, go with it and trust ultimately yourself, take what you learnt from your past, from your nurturing self and allow your wisdom from life to nurish you.

These are just some thoughts I felt from reading your dream! However, I have seen you interpret dreams and I think you inwardly know what your dreams mean to you

LOL... thanks, Freemorph. My first thought was that it was yet another dream telling me to eat more fruits and vegetables, but only the berries fit that idea! And it still may have been suggesting that berries with my peanut butter would have been preferable to the Fluffernutter (peanut butter and marhsmallow fluff) sandwich I ate yesterday, which at least was good quality peanut butter and was on whole grain bread! And I did have a glass of C-Boost fruit smoothie with it, which has a lot of fruit. I've got no excuse for not having berries, as my garden is currently full of raspberries and blueberries, and possibly even blackberries... I haven't been back that far to check.

Health magazines get into a lot about all the colors in fruits and vegetables, and having a rainbow of them every day. So, I thought, well maybe, but the pistachio chicken didn't quite fit.

Then I thought maybe I'm eating too many nuts. I am, actually, but more almonds and walnuts and cashews than what was in the dream, but I'm having a vegetarian week, so it's okay. Maybe I need some chicken though, so I need to create a recipe for chicken breasts, pounded out, and stuffed with pistachios and some sort of mild cheese or something; I have to give some thought to what will bring out the delicate pistachio flavor and not overwhelm it.

I think I'd hate being served in that particular fashion, as if she was a servant, though it's okay if I'm visiting someone. But this was *my* house, supposedly. So, really, I should have been the one serving the food!

Oh, well... some dreams sit awhile before making sense, and some never quite do!

      Thanks for the comments!

      Hi Clytemnestra,

Thank you! You know, I did give a passing thought to the Triple Goddess, but as my Goddess aspect of the Divine is Sophia (Wisdom), that usually doesn't quite work well for me. Still, as the stages of life, it does work pretty well in there.

I try things that are new all the time, really, especially with food. I love to cook and get creative. I also do a lot of other very creative things, really, including dreamwork. My biggest problem is time... I never have enough of it to do all the things I want to do!

Sometimes, I know immediately what my dreams mean to me, but will post them anyway, and find that other people's views add even more depth and meaning, which is very cool. Sometimes, I'm as clueless with my own dreams as anyone else!

I do like what you said about maiden/mother/crone, for sure, and just am having a problem relating it to those particular foods. Especially, the pistachio nuts. Why pistachio? They're green, for gosh sakes! Better for ice cream than chicken, I'd think. Or cookies... ooh... just remembered that the Southwest Indian Association sells pistachio cookies in their catalog. It would have been better not to remember that, as now I'll probably get a craving for them!

      Grinning...

I just remembered that one book in the Nag Hammadi is Pistis Sophia, something like that, and will have to look it up and re-read it, as I'm not calling it up at present.

Also, the dictionary says "pistia" means faith, belief.

Perhaps Sophia, the Divine Mother aspect, is suggesting my chicken-self needs more faith and belief! Yes!!! That makes sense. I get lost in a doubtful frame of mind about some things at times, and have done that quite a bit lately, watching the news especially, or stewing over certain personal matters.

      Faith, Belief, Pistachios!

Faith is also one of the Fruits (like berries) of the Spirit.

      Now, it all makes sense!

Thanks again, guys... talking it out is half the job!

      Hey,

I'm glad you worked it out in the end! I realised when I discuss my dreams I understand them more too, or even do as you do, like a mental association.

Hi! Your do the same thing that I frequently do in my dreams. I recognize that
something is bizarre in my dreams and I will actually say something like,
"Wow, that's soooooo weird." But I then I usually just accept the "weird" and continue the "weird". I am practicing lucid advice in DV and reading lots so when I have my frequent unpleasant dream, I can just change it to something fun.

Pistia (Faith) + Chi (Life Force Energy) = pistachios

I don't think I "accept" the weird, so much as try to understand what it really means! It's like that to catch my attention, make me seek the meaning. It's usually a pun or some kind of wordplay that's involved for me. Or a matter of looking at the word in pieces instead of as a whole.

I don't ever change my dreams, especially the lucid ones, which many are. I believe they have guidance for me in my waking life, so I won't do that, for fear of losing the guidance they offer. If someone sends me a telegram with important information, do I change the words in the message? NO! That would be silly, right? I guess I feel sometimes as if people get so into lucid dreaming as something they control that they don't see that there's more there than using them as a sort of amusement park. Dreams are a lot deeper than that! And a lot more full of helpful advice than that.

Though for me, solving the puzzles they present is FUN! I've always enjoyed puzzles of various kinds.

Like the more I think about pistachios/pistia(faith), the more it makes sense. It's not only pistia (faith) either, there's also Chi in there, which is Life Force Energy, the energy that is life, the healing energy that comes from the Holy Spirit. Especially if the older woman is Sophia, the Goddess aspect. Or Sophia, the Holy Spirit. Faith matters, and sometimes, I get caught up in fear, like Chicken Little worrying that the sky if falling. Faith ousts fear, really, or at least keeps it manageable, as does love. When we're trapped in fear, the Life Force Energy, the Chi, doesn't flow right. Spirit knows this, and presents me with pistachio chicken. How cool!

I'd have ruined that lovely message if I'd changed the dream. So I don't change dreams.
