      faerie dream?

Last week I had a very strange dream that has been lingering on my mind ever since. In the dream, I was standing in a garden with my daughter (I'm only 17 I don't even have a daughter). She was still young, maybe about 6 years old, and had long pretty blonde hair with light-colored eyes. We were standing in the middle of a large ring of seashells. There were actually exactly three rows of them, all circling around us. I was giving my "daughter" strict instructions not to leave the circle, as this would somehow protect us from the "faeries" that I somehow knew were there. I remember being really worried. As we were standing there in the circle of seashells I kept telling her to pick out her favorite ones and put them in a pile. I don't know if this had any purpose or if I was just trying to distract her.

After a few minutes of this we began hearing loud thumps coming from "our house" (we were in the backyard garden). Our house was supposedly empty. No one was there but us. As the noises from the house grew louder I became even more worried and kept telling her not to leave the circle. I think she eventually realized something wasn't right, because when we heard a particularly loud thump, her curiosity got the best of her and she went running towards the house. Immediately I ran after her frantically yelling at her to stop.

By the time I got to the house she was already inside. The doors and windows were flung open and all the lights were out. This is where it gets complicated. I found her in a back bedroom, hanging onto a windowsill for dear life. She was in the window hanging onto it as if there was a tornado outside. The wind was so strong in that bedroom that if she let go, she would be hurled away. For some reason the wind didn't affect me, so I grabbed her arms and tried pulling her back in. And I "knew" that I was having a tug-of-war with the "faeries". They were invisible.. a force I couldn't see.. but I knew they were there, and I knew that they were outside pulling her legs. In the dream I prayed that God would literally give me the strength to keep her from them. Finally, I was able to pull her back to me.

After this the dream cuts off and suddenly we are back outside, on the front porch. And yet again, there is a strong wind trying to take her away. But this time she is hanging onto a wooden column that supports the porch. Again, I played tug-of-war with these unseen creatures. Then I finally realized something that made me even more desperate. I realized that these "creatures" had somehow taken MY strength from earlier (the strength I used to get her back the first time), and they were now using that against me. So it was like I was playing tug-of-war with myself. I remember wondering how in the world I was going to do this. It seemed impossible. Eventually, somehow, I did manage to get her back. Then I immediately woke up.

I don't understand this dream. It seems like it would symbolize something but I really don't know what. Or maybe I just have an over active imagination. In real life I DO have a shell collection, but I haven't looked at it or even thought about it in forever. I also have always been somewhat attracted to the idea of faeries, but why did they want my daughter? And why did I even HAVE a daughter? I seemed so attatched to her too, as a mother would, but I seemed to know her so well and vividly that it was freaky. Does anyone have ANY thoughts on this vivid dream?

This dream reminds me of one I had when I was 19. In the dream, I was pregnant, though I didn't want to be. I prayed for a miscarriage, and then I had one. Once I had the miscarriage, I was sad. Your dream reminds me of this because even though irl, you don't have a child, you are trying to keep one. My dream later turned out to be prophetic of something that would happen with a creative endeavor. Everything turned out alright for me, but for a while, it was a sad time.

One theory of interpretation is that everything in a dream is part of ourself. I do not always agree with this, but I do think it applies to the girl here. Who or what is threatening your girlness? Is it something you created or are there people you need to get away from? A six year old girl is usually feminine but to herself. She is not putting on femininity to attract anything, she usually just likes pink.

Have someone look at your natal chart and progressed chart to see what is going on with Nepture. It sounds like you might be trusting your inner self/child to someone who should not be trusted. Not that they are a bad person, necessarily, but perhaps they can't live up to your ethereal view of them. In lore, faeries look harmless, but can be quite dangerous. Also, their beauty can be larger than life. Is their someone who can't live up to your ideal? I am not saying you should lower your standards, but perhaps you need to see the flaws of this individual. Love both hopes all things, and forgives all things. In order for our Neptunian approach to people to be brought into balance, we have to see their flaws for what they are. Also, because there is a tug-of-war in this dream. I think you may have to let this person or people go in order to protect yourself.

Wow. I can really relate to what you said. There is a person that has just "re-entered" my life that I have been very trusting of.. perhaps too trusting for my own good.

I have also been pretty critical of this person in the past, which consequently caused the ending of our relationship. More recently however, I have been trying to get over my preconceptions of how I think this person should be...

You also stated that I may need to let this person or persons go in order to protect myself. This is very true also, as I know forming a relationship with this person could be a very dangerous thing for me at this point in my life.

This situation I'm going through has been the biggest thing on my mind lately, but I never imagined it could be related to my dream. It just goes to show that our dreams truly are amazing. Thank you scribbles.

2reaper, This is what I discern about your dream....

The "back" yard...often represents something that has happened in the past. Children can represent many things in our dreams but in this dream...it seems to speak of a part of yourself. Children carry our traits..etc. (did something happen to you around that age?) If not, it may simply represent a part of you that got outside of your arena of protection.

(I do not know if you believe in God but because you mentioned calling on Him in your dream...I will add this)

The three rows around the circle seem as if they are a barrier of protection
in essence...three can represent the "trinity".
You tried, to keep that part of yourself in the safe zone...but because a part of you decided to "check things out", outside of the "arena" of protection, she was vulnerable to an attack.
Wind is something that we cannot see with our natural eyes but can feel the affects of just the same. It is the same with the spirit world. We will see in the natural the affects, of being attacked by by unseen forces who seek to take us out. There is an arena of protection from those attacks, being succesful against us...it is in staying in our rightful place...hedged in, if you will.
Notice, this seems to speak of a struggle within yourself that took place in the past..(back) yard during a time of growth, (garden) ,in your life. You went through a spiritual battle, to not lose a part of yourself to the enemy.
(The bible says that we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but powers and principalities, and rulers of darkness in high places. When you called on God, you had victory over the unseen "faeries" and were able to bring that part of yourself back to a safe place.

(I recently studied their origins due to dreaming about one. One belief is that they actually are fallen angels/ demons)

"Front" Porch, often speaks of what you are facing right now. So, once again you find there is a "tug of war" going on within yourself. But, part of you, that knows what is right, is holding on for dear life, to what you know is true and stable (pillar). This time it seems the "unseen" have zapped your strength..so just holding on and fighting is a struggle within yourself...to not just give in and let go. Remember though, you knew who to call..and when you called the first time, the victory was won, alot easier...the second time, it is a struggle in your self, instead of calling on Him to rescue.

I put a scripture below, that refers to how God speaks to everyone of us in dreams. Though we may not know or recognize that it is Him...Hope that this helps you some!!

      Job 33 : 13

13 Why do you complain to him
that he answers none of man's words [a] ?

14 For God does speak—now one way, now another—
though man may not perceive it.

15 In a dream, in a vision of the night,
when deep sleep falls on men
as they slumber in their beds,

16 he may speak in their ears and Then He opens the ears of men and seals their instruction

17 to turn man from wrongdoing
      and keep him from pride,

18 to preserve his soul from the pit, [b]
his life from perishing by the sword. [c]
