dream of death, funeral and a mother in black- please help

Hello. My name is josh. Recently, my mom's best friend (Josephine) whom I've been living with as I attend college, had a very odd and unsettling dream. She didn't get into too many details but if more details are necessary then i can find out. DREAM: She dreamed that she found out that my cousin (geoffrey) was dead. So she began to try and call Geoff's mother( myrna) to tell her that her son had died. When it came time for the funeral MY mother (evelyn) was the ONLY person dressed in black. This caused me to be very uneasy because dreams usually arent literal. So the dream is unlikely to represent the death of geoff. But since my mother was the only one in black, it could represent the death of me. If anyone can help me out that'd be great.

There has yet to be proof that dreams foretell anything other than confusion of the dreamer. So I doubt you have anything to worry about, your dream was probably more or less a projection of your own fear of dying which dreams are quite happy to play up. Such a reflection may be a characteristic of having unanswered questions unto the great beyond, and it would do you some good to ponder on these matters for your own piece of mind. For example, "What happens when we die?", "Where do we go?", "Does the soul exist?" etc...

You said it yourself and you are right dreams are not liiteral not for the cousin and not for any other person in the dream. Death in dreams sometimes means it is time to change to get rid of certain belief or way of going about things, and the one dying in the dream could give a hint to what it is. Another idea, is that the fact only one person came in black to the funeral, like the only person who did not know that even death is not literal, but all the other knew. We are souls dressed in physical form...we are eternal beings. Isn't good news?
