Question Is it possible to talk to the dead?

I had been contemplating coming out of the closet as gay. I had met someone with whom I was ready to enter a long term relationship with.

One night when I went to sleep, I dreamed that I was in an odd place vaguely similar to my childhood home with my dad (now dead for about 12 years). My boyfriend was huddled in a corner with me while we watched fearfully as my father patrol the halls. When he finally found us he roared at us and asked why we were so close to each other. I explained that we were gay, etc. He was angry and then he calmed down and everything changed. He told me that he knew and was okay with it. He started smiling. The light changed so it was the setting sun was lighting the room in an orangey glow and he wished the best for me and was happy for me. Then the dream ended.

I normally don't have dreams like this. It was odd. Even if I do dream and he is in it, I never speak to him and it is like he is just there, but never the focus. Anyway, please feel free to have a go at my dream please.

No, the dead don't talk to you in your dreams. You may conjure up a dead person in your dream and he may speak to you, but that doesn't imply that the dream character is actually the person, dead or alive.

It seems like your dream was just your super-ego telling your ego that it's ok to be gay. The super-ego often assumes a parental role, whether one's parents are or aren't dead.

That makes sense and is far less creepy. Thanks!
