Thread: Very large spider trying to attack me

Last night I had a dream that I saw very large spider legs. It occurred to me that a spider was on my back and I needed to shake it loose. Every time I tried to, it wouldn't budge. Then I realized that I, in fact, was the spider. This freaked me out big time. I tried to run away from myself, but could not. Then I woke up. The dream was short and started with me seeing these large furry spider legs on my back. Overall, it was very scary and upsetting. It was like the spider was trying to control me. I felt like this large spider needed to controlled and I was wrestling to control it. It's legs were moving and I was trying to get it to stop. I think I was the spider. Either that or it was right on my back. What does this strange dream mean?

You used the word control three times between two sentences. I'm thinking that you like to be in control of a situation - which is normal. My definition of a nightmare is a dream that I have no control over when I would prefer to have control. And I've used it four times.

So, a pretty normal dream where you're fighting for control over a situation that you have no control over. If you're really concerned, take a look at your life and see where that stress might be coming from. If you're really really concerned, start a dream journal. If you're really really really concerned, lucid dreaming is a good tool for overcoming nightmares and giving you more control over your dreams. You can find more information on the rest of this site. Mixism, thanks for your interpretation. I've had responses in other forums where people think it's definitely about something sexual and insist on it, which I think is ridiculous. I have a situation in my life that I've been dealing with for 8 years. It can be very stressful at times and involves some people who are very controlling, resentful, and malicious. It is difficult to distance myself from the cruel behavoir of these people, but I do my best. I think the dream refers to that situation. The day before I had this dream, I learned about another situation involving these people which I found upsetting. I try to keep out of it and stay above the childish acts of others, but it's not always easy. Thanks. Your interpretation makes the most sense to me.

How did they? Out of? Well... how very Freudian of them.

I think that dreams are just a manifestation of the things you've been dwelling on while awake. If you're dreaming about paperwork, chances are you've had to do too much of it at work. It doesn't mean that you have father issues because the... paper... is falling far from the tree... or something roundabout like that.

It's really pretty simple.
