I feel so silly, but the dream was so real, it scared me.

I am 25 years old, I have a five year old son, and a wonderful husband. Okay, now that I have introduced myself a bit, here is what I am feeling so silly about, yet disturbed. A few nights ago, I wasn't feeling so good, so I went to bed much earlier than my usual habits allow. I woke up from a crazy dream that left me thinking I was going nuts. It was pretty short, and had absolutely no meaning what so ever. Here is some quick backround before I get to the point. I was in this large mansion style home, that for months now has haunted my dreams. It's almost vampirish. For the most part, in this reoccurring dream, I wake up terrified because I can't get out of it. Before I wake up, I usually run through the many creepy halls screaming for my husband. Jokingly, I always vow to my husband that if I ever see this house here in our world I will burn it down. Of course, legally, that wouldn't be a wise thing to do, if in fact this house exists. Since this has been a recurring dream, I am familiar with the house now, as funny as that may sound. I know the rooms, the decorations, certain pictures, style furniture, smell, ect.....The house is almost gothic. In one of the upper rooms, it is another livingroom. For some reason, this part of the house seems to be the main scene. The couch is victorian style, and the room is like a cherry wood. There is a fireplace, and over it is this creepy clock. The entire house is furnished with antiques. Needless to say, I REALLY HATE THIS HOUSE, and its not one of my favorite dreams. So now to the point of extreme weirdness.....as I was saying, the other night, I went to bed a bit early, and there I was again in this !@#$ house. There I was again, in that living room filled with antiques, and yet again, that stupid clock had some sort of significance above the fireplace cause I kept looking at it. When I turned around, there was one of hollywoods most famed actors, not even one I particularly care for, but still, he's famous. He looked at me with the most awful look in his eyes, creeped me out so bad, that again, I ran screaming for my husband. He came after me, yelling at me, saying how did you get in here? I replyed, I never know how I get here, but I would gladly never come back. He asked, am I dreaming? By him saying that, I realized that I was again in that stupid house I hate so much dreaming, and I replyed yes cause I am. He started vigorously poking my arm, really hard to the point where it seemed like I felt pain in this dream, odd.. I yelled at him, and startled the crap out of him. He then just stood there, puzzled, confused glaring at me, and he asked, who are you, are you a real person or did my mind just make you up. I was so freaked out by this questioning, that I ran from him screaming for my husband to help me. Before I woke up, he pleaded with me to give him a number to call to ensure that he wasnt losing his mind, I absoltely refused because if he possibly called the next day I really think I would have to admit myself to a mental ward. Can someone here help me, because this was the most disturbing dream ever. I feel retarded now, but glad to get it off my chest. Curiosity got the better of me, so I looked up the actor to see if maybe something was posted about a home he might own. To my horror, he has a house described as being filled with antiques, with a vampirish feel to it. I don't ever want another one of these dreams, they are stressfull, and it makes me avoid sleep. Can someone help me from going to this creepy horrible house in my dreams??Niki

      *moved to dream interpretation*

As I said in the PM, I dare not try and tackle this one myself, but I do know that reoccuring dreams or setting are often something worth trying to understand. A psychologist would be a great tool for this. You could also use them to become lucid and then investigate around and interrogate people and such to try and understand why you are having this reoccuring experience...
      If I hadn't made me
I'd be more inclined to bow
Powers that be would have swallowed me up
But that's more than I can allow...

      Wow...ok here goes

I am just going to throw a few things up in the air and see which things you catch!

If you are having this dream often, and as you stated the man asked you if you were dreaming, and you said yes I am dreaming why wouldnt you become lucid? The other thing is the next time you are in the house, realize and strongly tell yourself that you are dreaming! From there I would tell you go to the room with the man in it and say Show yourself. For example they say nightmares people have being chased by a man with an axe or what not...if you realize your dreaming...face the person chasing you and say reveal yourself, what meaning do you carry for me? 99.9% of the time the person you were scared of will turn into something you like, someone you know, etc. The weird thing is I had a dream the other night...in a huge house and a creepy creepy old man. Natalie Portman was the famous person and she crept up behind me...and I felt her trying to take control of my mind...I tried but she did and I spoke and she said what I was trying to say...she locked me in a room and said the creepy man is coming for you! I freaked and jumped out the window...theres more to it but thats the main part of it.

The thing is If I had realized I was dreaming, I would have waited for the old man...you should face this Famous Person or whoever he is and find out what he has for you to learn. Don't be scared you will benefit greatly from it. Let me know how it goes!

I also think that because that man in your dream is asking himself is he dreaming, its really you asking yourself are you dreaming...you are wanting to tell yourself something but you run from it? What could it be? Your dreams are made up in your mind, you have to be trying to tell yourself something...after all the guy gives you the cue! Am I Dreaming he says BAM! Get lucid and crack the dream you can do it be strong! (not scared)

Possibly you had a shared dream? You should have given the guy your number. If you see him again do so. It's nothing to get too freaked out about. I had an accidental shared dream with my friend who is a natural lucid dreamer. It seemed so real and so like her I asked her if she had the same dream. She did at about the same time too. It's pretty freaky, but it's just a dream, shared or not.
Dreaming permits each and every one of us to be quietly and safely insane every night of our lives.

wow! if u ever see him again, dont run! it sounds like you had a shared dream w/ this guy. if you ever see him again give him an alternative email adress or phone number or something of that nature. You need to get in contact with him, it could prove a lot about the dreamside. Sorry if i sound a little crazy, but shared dreams have always sparked my interest quite a bit. My theory is that the dreamside is a whole other world all its own & meeting real people in it is very common.
you all laugh because i am different.
