      WS's Journal

MY GOD! I've got a lot to do! I have stacks of paper (mainly in crappy notebooks with my company's name on) with my dreams since I joined this forum back in November last year. So I bought a couple of really nice notebooks to copy them up in, and was happily writing away when I couldn't find the full version of a dream I feel is too important to miss out. I'm therefore stuck as I can't go on until I at least know how many pages to keep clear (I'm not anal, but I do want it to be relatively neat and ordered).

This is why I've decided to post them on here, as I have more flexibility if I forget to post one day. But as I also want to keep this relatively neat and ordered I've disabled replies, so if you wish to comment, which I am quite happy for you to do, please pm me.

What you will notice reading this (that is assuming anyone can be bothered to read this journal - otherwise I'm just talking to myself ... ) is that there are certain themes that keep poping up. This is probably due to my subconcious interests or fantasies, but I'm curious if anyone has any ideas on the themes involved, or even share some of the themes and are also confused as to their relevance or origin. So far, the themes are as follows:

      1. [b]Spaceship - for some reason I keep dreaming of being on a spaceship, seeing one, or just living in the future where there are spaceships in daily use. In fact I'm quite proud of how good my mind is at creating these scenes - they've been quite breathtaking sometimes.

      2. [b]Military - many times I've dreamed of either being a soldier in an army, or being a lone secret agent/spy. Sometimes it's not obvious, but for some reason I just KNOW what I am.

      3. [b]Trains - I've noticed that this has been a major part of my dreams for many years (about the only continuing theme that I noticed before I joined this post and started a journal). Maybe this theme should be 'Travel' as I've also dreamed of travelling in cars and buses/coaches (and spaceships!) quite a few times, but as trains come up the most I prefer this title.

... perhaps there is one more, but this is not so common ...

      4. [b]End Of The World - ... yes, good old Armageddon! ... I've only dreamed of this a couple of times, but it intrigues me the most as it's not something I generally believe in and the dreams involving this subject have been extraordinarily lengthy and detailed, not to mention quite spectacular at times!

... since writing a few, I've noticed another theme:

      5. [b]Old Town - This is just an environment that seems to keep cropping up. I keep dreaming of an old town, kinda 19th Century England, with cobbled streets and tudor buildings, and sometimes people are even dressed in old clothes. This has now come up too often to be ignored!

... Now it's most probably the simple fact that I aspire to being a Secret Agent (or just working for the government) who travels on spaceships (and trains ) and is going to save the world from destruction!!

      ... or that I will!

... or that this is the dream world and in reality I AM "a Secret Agent (or just working for the government) who travels on spaceships (and trains ) and is going to save the world from destruction!!"

... or that I need help.

... or simply that I have an over-active imagination and shouldn't worry about it too much! ... ... Nah!

...don't know where the old town bit comes in!

      Anyway - enjoy...

      PRE Dream Views</span>
      [b]Some of my old dreams:

I thought I\'d use this first post to record some of the dreams I remember pre Dream Views. A couple I actually wrote down the day after (so I\'ll try and find them somewhere) during a time when I first heard about LDing and decided to write down my dreams for the first time. I had no luck in LDing though!

(I\'m at the end of work now though, so I\'ll edit this one later - as you\'re reading this before I change it then scroll down to the 11th post and you\'ll be able to read last night\'s dream)

An idea of dreams to come in this post:
      [b]<span style="color:darkred">My first Lucid
My first (and only) Shared Dream
Voodoo Dream (that one was pretty cool!)
      Wallet-Stealing Foreigner
Miniature Naked Grandad (that one was fucking wierd!)
      More Army Stuff
and the Best Armageddon Dream Ever!!!

My first (and only) Shared Dream!
When I was a kid I remember my sister described a dream about being chased by 3 bears (yes THE 3 bears! ) through a field, over a sty (steps over a fence) and into a street outside a supermarket. She was with me and two of our friends, then she hid behind a lamp post (cartoon style) and hid from the bears - then she lost me and the others and woke up. It was wierd - the bears, the field, our friends, the sty, the supermarket - all matched my dream!!! But in my dream when we got to the supermarket I went inside and started looking for my mum. That's when I woke up!

      [b]Themes: Military, Old Town
Techniques: Read LD stuff (First time on DV) - I won\'t mention this anymore as I now do this every day

      Story1: No Worries!
I am running down a winding, descending street with my mates. It feels like late evening, backed up by the fact that we are running to a pub. We seem to be late to meet a friend of ours who is waiting for us there. While running, I am jokingly pushing one of my friends into the road (there are no cars btw!), and he just so happens to be the one who doesn\'t get on with slapstick comedy among friends. I know it\'s wrong and he\'ll go mental at me, but strangely he doesn\'t! When I appologise, he says "No worries!" and actually defends me!! ... We keep running.

      Story2: Big Discount
I\'m in a shop (one of those Asian-run shops that sells EVERYTHING under the sun!), with my mum and either my sister or my girlfriend. While I\'m browsing I notice that the price of things are double the normal price ... if you buy them separately! Although, if you buy a few things together you get a HUGE discount! ... Weird offer! For some reason I choose a multi-coloured pretzel stick and ask my mum to buy it with her stuff to get the discount. After buying I want a refund .. but I can\'t remember why anymore.

Story3: You\'re in the Army now!
I am in the kitchen of a strange house. I am part of an army, it seems, who are preparing to go on a mission. (In a kitchen??? ) I\'m complaining that my skis are too long (don\'t ask!) ... but then retract my complaint as I think they\'re supposed to be this long for someone of my height... ?? Everything looks so hand-made!

Then I\'m outside, in a field (the back garden??), at night, and a man (leader?) tells the men he will make something turn to stone. Apparently only then will the men believe in him and fight with him! He uses some powder and mixes it with the rain (sounds like fucking cement to me! - I\'m just reading this from my written journal ... I\'m sure it was better at the time!) and ... it works!!

      Story4: Bouncer wants to Kill Me! | [b]<span style="color:darkred">Lucid

I'm with some girls (I think my girlfriend and her mates) and we are discussing going to the pub next door, but it's late and we know it's closed. I remember it feeling like we're in an old town (I get this quite often I think), kind of Victorian era (?).

...this bit's missing for some reason...

I'm in a room full of people (a party of some sort) and talking, with my friend, to a couple of guys. The guys are South African and seem to be talking a strange language (Afrikaans?). I start to talk to them in their native language (can't validate this as I don't know a word of Africaans!), and so does my friend, but then he turns around and ... he's turned into someone else!

We move into the kitchen (of the house we're in) and sit at a table, where I begin a conversation with a very large black man (kind of bouncer-like - I think he's got the typical black, padded jacket too!). One of the South African guys is sitting behind him (he is tall, white with a shaven head). The bouncer guy tells me how he's been comissioned to beat me up ... we then proceed to discuss it in an amicable manner!!

After the conversation has ended I move into another room (looks like another kitchen!!). The room is small, but well lit by the sunlight coming through it's two windows on the left and at the back. There is a table in the middle where people are sitting and the kitchen units span the walls on the left and right. Directly ahead of me is the back door (leading out to a garden), which is currently being guarded by the Bouncer and his skinhead mate. It looks like he is to fulfil his duty.

My dad ( ) is standing beside them, perhaps as my backup? I walk towards them look to my left and notice my friend, Matt, sitting at the table. This seems strange to me ( ) and immediately I become lucid!! It's not entirely clear, and I feel it fading, so I don't have time to appreciate it and start spinning (having just read this site I learned this was a good way of increasing clarity). Unfortunately it's too late and I awaken!!

      And another thing...
WOW! My first lucid! It was an incredible feeling to realise I'm dreaming and be able to actually think freely for a change. Normally you are bound by the 'script' of your dreams and cannot even make your own decisions! It's also amazing how little tuition is needed for someone to LD - all I needed was to read (in detail) about the subject and I had my first LD!

      Story1: Earings?
The first thing I remember is a Tank, can\'t recall where it came from, or the rest of the scene. I only remember it was set in a hilly field with concrete paths in daylight. Kind of like the trenches of WWI in Belgium (I went to visit them while in school).

The next thing I know, I\'m in a hospital, next to a desk (reception?) holding a 1-2 yr old girl!?? I am playing with her at arm\'s length with the father near by. I am talking to her about earings or something. Then the kid has aged a few years, and I go outside with her...

      Story2: Jimmy Bond
Now this was one of those \'Film Dreams\' involving Pierce Brosnan as an invisible secret agent (James Bond I presume?). Then I become the agent, and fall into a situation with Bad Guys in some ancient ruins. Kinda like the last level of Goldeneye (N64 game).

      Story3: Too Many Clocks!
I wake up ... but not here! (Looks similar, but the layout\'s slightly off) I check the time and it\'s late! There are too many clocks for it to be real, but I\'m too stupid to notice! My girlfriend is lying next to me. I get up and check the time in the lounge ... the tv and computer are still on (even though I turned them off before bed). I can\'t find a clock, so I go back to the bedroom when my gf gets up to check the time ... then goes back to sleep.

      Story4: Where am I? | [b]<span style="color:darkred">Lucid

Again, I wake ... but in a strange room!

Not like before - this FELT like another house, someone ELSE's room! This makes me lucid! I realist it's a dream and try to concentrate, but it's fucking wierd because it's so damn realistic! I remember not wanting to move too much in case I moved in reality and sleep walk! ... Idiot!

Eventually I get up and out of the bed. The door is open. Then I realise ... I'm in my underwear!!! For some reason I actually care about this and feel I need to put some clothes on. I start hunting around when a large girl appears in the doorway, topless and carrying a red t-shirt. She says something (can't remember what) and walks off. I find some jeans (not mine) and another girl with long, dark, curly hair walks past. She asks me "Where's <my name>" ??? I then try to put on a top, but it's too tight and my frustration wakes me up!

      And another thing...
This dream was so detailed and vivid, I even to this day can imagine what that room looked like, or how the people looked! I hope I'm able to remember to go back there some time. When I can LD properly!

Story: My first Dream Guide meeting! | [b]<span style="color:darkred">Lucid

This was my longest LD so far, and the first time I actually flew! It was also the first one in which I actually tried to act out something I WANTED to do in an LD - meet my Dream Guide! I had a CRAZY conversation about life and the universe, and may have even learned the TRUTH ABOUT GOD!!! ... more to come...

      Story1: Fields of Cars | [b]Semi-Lucid
I\'m in a field sitting in a car. I then get out and for some reason want another one. So I look around and see my sister\'s car. I walk over, open the door and look in. I pick up some dirty food from the floor, but then my logic kicks in and part of my brain begins to say "this is a dream, the food doesn\'t matter!". I do not, however, gain lucidity fully and carry on with the dream.

      Story2: Evil Girl | [b]<span style="color:darkred">Lucid

I awoke (strange bed) to find a girl (about 8 years old) at the end of my bed clinging onto the bedpost. She was silhouetted by the moonlight coming through the white curtains at the back of the room. I could see her face and her eyes had an evil glow to them. I wouldn't say she looked evil, but that I sensed it! Immediately (unknown reason) I become lucid, yet it does not feel real. I no longer see the girl as a threat and she reaches over and hugs me!

I then get up and go to the bathroom, turn on the taps and wash my face in an attempt to increase my lucidity, but alas, no change! Then my gf kicks me (in real-life) and I awaken.

      Story: Apolcalypse Bridge
All I remember is driving in my car with my girlfriend looking for some place (can\'t remember where). Now something happened here that I can\'t remember, but the next thing I do remember is driving to meet my gf (she\'d got out somewhere along the way). I went the wrong way down a street as a short cut and the next thing I knew I was beside a very large bridge over a chasm. The bridge was linked on the nearside, to a factory-like structure that stood in the chasm, by a walkway which my gf was walking down toward the bridge to meet me.

I remember as my gf was walking from the factory in the chasm to the bridge I noticed a girl in black following a while behind her. I got a sense of danger from her, but then ignored her and started to climb down the ladder to meet my gf. I get the sense I was going to cross the bridge with her, but then we climb back up the ladder to get in my car (up until this point I didn\'t realise my car was there). That\'s where my recollection ends.

      A bit of detail:
It was a wierd scenario, like out of a manga comic book, or post-appocalyptic film - on my side of the chasm there was a road (that I had parked beside) then there was dust and gravel, and, although I didn\'t turn around, I could sense that behind me was just an expanse of land (kinda like a rocky desert). There was a ladder that went down 5 meters to the bridge (which was a huge metal structure with two walkways about 8 meters apart spanning the chasm). The other side was a large built-up area with lots of factory-like buildings and structures. Very grey and smokey.

I don\'t know what this one means, but I\'m going to put in in the [b]<span style="color:darkred">End Of The World
      I ain't gonna bother!

      Story: Cars | [b]<span style="color:darkred">Lucid

I remember having the wierd feeling I was daydreaming, simply thinking a scenario and I could open my eyes at any time and be awake. I don't know now if I was or not, but I remember that's how I felt. Anyway, I was in a field driving, even racing, some cars. The next thing I remember was walking in a street, somewhere hot, maybe spain or mexico (white walls, dusty roads), and wanting to find a car (?). I then thought about the fact that I was daydreaming, and decided to look at my hands. It was then that I discovered I was actually dreaming now and (obviously) became lucid.

I walked over to a red car and, as a policeman was turning towards me, I just willed the keys into my hand (the only time I've ever willed anything in an LD before!). I got in and decided to drive. But then I think I woke up, as that's all I remember.

      And another thing...
I still don't know if I was actually daydreaming or not, but it felt a strange way to start an LD none the less.

      Story1: Phonecall
Last night was a bit wierd. I wouldn't call it an LD, but perhaps a Semi.

I woke up (it appeared) to my gf talking on the phone in the dark, while lying next to me in bed. Initially I thought she was talking in her sleep (as she sometimes does), but I heard the other person on the phone. It was a guy and I could hear all that he was saying. From the conversation it sounded like a business phonecall, like a bank or something, and I distinctively heard her quote a code of some sort. I had memorised the code, because I thought it was wierd, and I was suspicious that it could be a dream and wanted to check this later. (I've now forgotten some of it, but remember enough to confirm.)

As I said, I was suspicious it could be a dream, but wasn't certain, so I didn't attain full lucidity. I realised afterwards it wasn't real as I woke up shortly afterwards and she was fast asleep.

      Story2: Ian Hislop
The recall on this is a bit hazy in parts, others are quite vivid, but I think it started like this: I was playing a computer game wherein I was shooting cowboys on horses with a gun - then I was in the game and in a building (ranch?) shooting out the window at the men on horseback. There was a lot of people in the building. I think it was my birthday party or something.

The strangest thing was that Ian Hislop was also there (the bald guy from "Have I Got News for You" tv programme - if you're not from the UK then this'll mean nothing to you, but type his name into google images and you'll see him). I recall shooting someone as they were riding away (I think by now I was in a role-playing game), possibly back to the headquarters. Everyone seemed to be leaving - the party was over and we were all going home.

Then Ian offered to give me £20 to buy a pellet gun and go and shoot the guy (who I shot at) for real, in the arse, for a laugh!! That's when my recollection fails and I think the dream ended.

      Story3: London
I don't remember much of this at all, only that it has something to do with driving through London.

      Story1: Marlow-on-Med
Isn't it weird how sometimes you are just observing things as if you are watching a documentary, but are actually there - at the scene, or whatever. You feel like you are ... wherever you are ... , but you are not actually standing in the physical form. And how sometimes you don't just see images or landscapes, but diagrams and illustrations, or perhaps even just sense things.

Sorry for that obscure introduction, but I had one of those last night. I remember discussing with someone (or just myself?) how if one surfs (or floats, can't remember which) out a river towards the sea (seemed like Australia, but then not - in fact, I can't help feeling like I've dreamt of this place a few times before ... ), they will come across a choice of directions round an island that is shaped so as to fill the gap the river has carved (it's got a pointy bit facing the land! - could've just said that I suppose! ) ... gets weirder ... If they go right - they reach civilization (beaches, hotels, etc) ... if they go left - there is sheer cliff for miles and miles. This was all described to me by diagrams upon maps and images.

What the point of that was, I have no idea! I suppose I must have missed the point, but as I was going to put everything I can remember in here, then it's in here. Although if this kind of weird crap comes up in the future, I might ignore it!

Anyway, then I became part of the dream and I was at a beach resort (same place I think) with my family (parent's and sister) and another family we know. I was discussing that this was like Maidenhead, or Marlow (can't remember which), which are two towns in Berkshire (central south), England. And I was told it was actually called Marlow-on-Med(iterranean)!!

      And another thing...
There were other (more interesting) dreams before this I think, but I forgot those as soon as I looked at my clock and realised I was late.

      Story1: High Fidelity
This was a film-like dream (ie. I was the camera). There was a party with lots of people. The hosts, it seemed, included two men and a woman. Now I think one of the guys was married to/going out with the woman, but suspected the other guy of cheating on/fancying her. Everything was fine until, in a cinema, the second guy stood up and told the woman he loved her! ... err ... that's it!

      Story2: Oriental Cleaner
Then I was in a house (seemed like mine, but I'd never been there before) and was being accused of something. But then someone told me my mum ordered our oriental cleaner to come earlier, so I rang him to see if he knew anything. I got some student who told me he was at the Student Union Party. I think we might have gone to find him or something ... lost that bit!

      Story3: Driving
... All I remember was driving somewhere ... I think it was related to the previous story, but can't be sure.

      Story4: Capture The Flag??
I was playing a FPS (First Person Shooter) game, but it was real, and we seemed to be in a CTF (Capture the Flag) scenario (two teams that each had a house to protect). I fought my way into the enemy house, got inside, then left and tried to fight my way back. My team were helping me, but when I got back I found our base was being guarded by the enemy. So I found a way round and was climbing up a tree/bush when I got caught. It seemed that was game over and everyone was gathering round me while I was lying, entangled in the bush. Then a guy came up to me, pulled some clothing from me (not what I was wearing, but they just appeared from me), and started discarding them for not being American-made, especially the hot pants!!

      And another thing...
For the past few nights I've been going to bed early (before 1am - yes, that's early for me!!) and wanting to try a HILD before sleep, but never managed to do so! I seem to just fall asleep too quickly! The mint tea seems to wake me slightly (maybe I got the wrong tea? Is Peppermint Tea okay?), but I don't think it's helped my recall much - it may look that way, but bear in mind I've also been keeping this Journal!

Can\'t remember much of last night\'s dream: my girlfriend was sleeping on the sofa all night (she\'s ill at the moment, so she\'s staying in bed til the afternoon, then staying up late watching videos til the early morning ...and falling asleep on the sofa!), and came in at 7.30am to go to bed! I remembered some then, but fell asleep again until 8am, when I had to rush to get ready and forgot it all. I don\'t think it was that interesting anyway!

      And another thing...
Again I was going to try to HILD, but forgot and fell asleep! I think I just get too knackered during the day, so I just want to rest when I go to bed ... and then fall asleep!

<span style="color:darkred">Oh, I\'ve started to update my previous dreams, so if anyone\'s interested they should see page 1.

      Story1: Theatre Tickets
I\'m in that old 19th Century town again! (I think I\'ll have to include this as one of my themes) I\'ve just been given some free tickets to a popular play in the town. I show my gf and she\'s excited. (That\'s all that happened really!)

      Story2: Can\'t Drink!
Still in the town; feels like an old pub (kinda like the taverns you see in period films like the 3 musketeers or something!). I\'m sitting there with people and I\'m complaining that I can\'t drink (maybe I was on anti-biotics??). My gf was there ... and getting pissed off with my moaning!

      Story3: Human Chain
Walking along a path by a pond, with some people (don\'t know who). Then we start to climb up a tall cliff face. When we finally get to the top we realise we\'d left our bags at the bottom, so some locals form a human chain from the bottom up to the top, via the road, and pass the bags up to the top. Yes, it seems we needn\'t have climb the cliff at all! There was some more, but it\'s no longer a part of my memory.

      Story4: Animated Fireworks! | [b]<span style="color:darkred">Lucid

I woke up, noticed the clock ... SHIT! It's 11.05am and I'm late for college (I'm taking a Spanish course on Saturdays at 10am)! Then I check the VCR - that says 10.05am ... Oh, I'm only a little late then! (At this point I don't realise my VCR is not in my bedroom!)

I walk into the hall, which is about twice the size it actually is! This obviously sparks something in my head and I question "Could this be a dream?" ... and immediately I know it is! I remember feeling relieved, at least if I'm gonna miss my course I wanna have a lucid!

As I walk to the door I realise I'm loosing lucidity ... FAST! I stagger back (like I'm loosing the ability to walk??) and fall on my arse! Then crawling about me (almost blind!) I call for my Dream Guide to help me!

... my arms wrap around some legs ... my sight clears to reveal a man (about my age), short blond hair, grey jogging suit. He helps me up and takes me into his lounge (I seem to have 'transported' myself to his house). He sits down on the sofa and I kneel on the floor in front of him. I ask him to help me LD better, help my clarity, so he gets up and walks to the window. He beckons me over and I look out the window. Suddenly I hear a loud, but distant bang! ... Fireworks! I look to the right and see a street with houses, stretching down a hill into a valley. Beyond the horizon appear the fireworks. At first they're just standard, but large fireworks. Then the guy tells me to look on the right, and before my eyes appears the largest firework I've ever seen, shaped as a mushroom cloud (I remember now someone told me there was one like this in London on New Years this year). However this one did not disappear, as fireworks normally do, instead it fell down, then flew back up! It kept 'bouncing' like this for a while, as if on a spring! I remember just being amazed at this, when it died and another appeared next to it! This one was shaped like a tank, the gun barrel facing downward, and a 'shell' fired out toward the ground, then back up, then back down (like before)... the tank went up and down, but in the opposite direction to the shell.

Then some lights appeared at the end of the road, coming towards us. It appeared to be three floating robots, like eggs with arms. They were black and white, with flashing lights (like police robots). They came into the house and the DC I was talking to went to talk to them. I remember at this point noticing another guy (his housemate?) standing next to us, and appeared to be behind an ironing board. The robots said they were just checking we were okay and the DC gave them some sort of tax (through something that looked like one of those Flash Disks with a screen). I kept quiet, I know it was a dream, but it was so strange I thought it best to just watch. I think they left and it ended, because I can't remember any more after that.

      And another thing...
I tried Placebo's HILD method (an extension of the one in the Tutorials) beforehand, although I think I mixed the two really. I found the part with the walking down a spiral staircase 'into your mind' the hardest. I couldn't manage to focus on making an image of the spiral staircase. Every time I tried, the staircase either straightened, reversed it's spiral, or I ended up at the end when I didn't want to!

Also I thought I'd try increasing my concentration and memory abilities. I thought those to be the integral parts of everything I want to do at the moment! It might be too general though, but if it works then I will be able to remember my dreams better, remember to do things in my lucid dreams, and perhaps remember to reality check when I notice strange things in my dreams! The concentration part will help me to focus better (with HILDs, WILDs and at work - to work and not check this site too much! )

      Story: Tower ride
I'm walking through a typical English seaside town with my parents. We come across a small tower (like a 10 meter tall lighthouse) and we enter. We begin to climb the internal spiral staircase with a queue of people. I look out of one of the windows to see another tower next to this one with people climbing up the outside. When I get to the top I seem to be walking down (?) and my friend is there (one of two who I left on New Year's Eve to go to another pub with my girlfriend and my other mate). There are a few final steps missing, so I leap the gap. (I have to carry some child over the gap and pass him to a man.)

I then walk into a room at the top of the tower where another friend (the OTHER one I left, and the one I'm most worried about being pissed off) is. I go back to the stairs and see ANOTHER friend (wasn't even there on New Years Eve - keeping with me? ), who I ask to go and speak to the one I just left. He doesn't want to.

So I go back to the top room, when ... suddenly ... the tower begins to sway from side to side! It seems this is a ride, and it's just started. It felt quite cool, but then I wake up.

      Story: Action film
In a school or college and am talking to a fellow student (whom I don't know in real life). I remember saying something about the fact that he reminds me of Batman, because of his receding hairline (similar to Michael Keaton).

THEN it 'cuts' to a Batman-like character running through the school being chased by two evil-looking dogs. He runs towards a dark tunnel and disappears inside. I think there is some kind of monster in there who he has gone to fight. Then I'm involved and am with some other students at the entrance to this part. A swat team (I don't know if I'm part of it or not) is gathering for an assault. We come across a bridge (over a chasm) made up of slabs about 3m by 2m (widthways) one after the other, suspended from above. There is one missing and we have to jump it to get across, but it's tricky and we need to use the suspended wires to help us swing across. Once over we enter a large room, made of stone, like in an ancient castle. The Batman character runs from the tunnel followed by a swarm of black tenticles reaching into the room. I think it turns out that the Batman geezer is now (or always was) evil and fighting for the tenticled creature.

Then my team turn into cartoon characters and I forget about the Batman bloke and tenticle thing! Myself and a creature similar to Daffy Duck are undercover spies and are infiltrating a group comprised of other cartoon-like characters! ... I can't remember where this goes from here, but as it wasn't making any sense anyway, I don't think that's much of a loss!

      And another thing...
I know I've been rather slack recently, but I've been busy with other things the past week! I have, however, just received my copy of "Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming" by Stephen LaBerge though! Just started reading it, so no comment yet.

Techniques: Made a mint tea before I went to bed. It was still there when I woke up.

      Story: No idea
I haven\'t got a scooby what this dream was about, just that I had one. All my mind can remember is a character that reminds me of Colin Farrell. I know I had one, because I woke up immediately after and tried (in my dead-tired state) to remember as much as I can to write up this morning ... but typically it has now left my mind completely!

Anyway, I woke and tried to get up to do a WBTB (it was about 4.30am, and as I went to bed at about midnight, I thought "maybe it\'s a bit too early?" ... So I fell back to sleep (not really out of choice).

...I then woke again, but at about 5.30am! So I\'d obviously subconsciously programmed my mind to wake up an hour later!! However I was just as lazy and couldn\'t be bothered to get up. But as I was falling unconscious, I managed to retain my awareness as the HI was becoming more formed and vivid

      ... and

      Story: Self-appointed Dream Guide | [b]<span style="color:darkred">Lucid

... suddenly I was in a crowded bar, in what seemed like some sort of shopping mall or lesiure complex. I was a bit startled as I hadn't had a lucid in quite a while! Now, I've got into the habit recently of just asking for help as soon as I get into a lucid! Maybe I should just try and control it myself without anyone helping me? But anyway, a waiter came up and took it upon himself to be my dream guide for the moment. He told me to go outside, but I said I wasn't ready, so he told me to follow him. We went into the back room (kitchen?), down some corridors, through some doors, and into a room with two doors infront of us.

Now I have a dream phobia: small spaces. To be more precise, it's getting stuck in small spaces. You know, like when you go down a small tunnel and get to a point where you're facing downward and it's the end, but can't get up again. Or when you turn around in a small space and your leg get's stuck to the point where you can't even go back the way you came ... ugh! It's horrible just to think about it!!

Well, we're at the room with the two doors, and he stops between the two, and kneels down on the floor. The wall then opens up at the bottom to reveal a small hole, large enough, just, for someone to lie down and pull themselves through. (The funny thing about this is that I remember willing this to happen - I don't know why?) He lies down, and pulls himself through, then beckons me to follow. So I lie down (on my front initially, then change to my back to make it easier to pull myself through; at this point I still know it's a dream, I'm still lucid, but quite caught up in the moment), and begin to pull myself through. I get to the point that I feel I'm getting stuck (almost like the hole is shrinking) but I know the guide bloke is there waiting, gain composure and manage to get through the hole. I get up and the guide kinda congratulates me (like this was some sort of test or something?? ). Then the dream starts to fade and I wake up.

When I wake, I'm quite happy. I suppose I thought I'd achieved something, finally, in a dream. Time will tell if that phobia continues in my dreams, or I'm cured. I wish I'd done something else more productive though!

      And another thing...
Why have I been forgetting to HILD or even get up recently??!!! I suppose I should try to sleep BEFORE I get too tired, as recently as soon as my head hits the pillow I just ... zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

All I can say is that ... Aaaaaaaaaaaaahm wicked and I'm lazy! Ooooooooooooh don't you wanna save me?

      Come 'ere, there's more...
Apparently Placebo knows of a technique to stay conscious into non-REM sleep (in other words, when you first go to sleep, without having slept already for 4-5 hours). The point of this is to stay aware of yourself at ALL times. It would be very interesting to see if this can be done. Might join him in trying that sometime.

Okay, haven't done much dream journal thing in a while. I did write down some dreams, but as the server was down (quite some time ago now!) I couldn't put them on here. Then I kinda gave up. Have been making a conscious effort to remember as much about my dreams as possible, though. I've found that I remember quite a lot more than I used to. But, alas, I haven't managed to LD in quite some time!

The one time I did (since the server went down) I have to say (proudly) that I MANAGED A MONTHLY TASK!!! It was the one about stacking stones. Took a few attempts (and was all a bit hazy), but managed it!! It's the first time I've shown some real control in my LDs. I've now got to conquer the realism part. In fact I've kinda got a ordered list of tasks to fulfil while LDing. They are as follows:

      1. Increase realism/lucidity.
      2. Increase control.
      3. Increase mental awareness/memory in dreams (so I can remember what do do, and try to think as rationally in dreams as I do in reality).
      5. Look for number 4 (that was a joke, by the way!).
      6. Increase time spent in LDs (ie. make it appear longer).
      7. Induce LDs on demand.
      8. Try a selection of self-made experiments to do with improving waking life through lucid dreams.

Getting past number 1 is going to prove tricky, I feel!

Although if I do, number 3 is probably going to be the hardest!

Okay, so it's been a while ... ... ... okay, so it's been ages!! Mainly because I haven't LD'd enough to warrant a post, due to me being busy, busy, busy! Too busy to think about LDs all the time, which, it seems, is what I need to do be successful.

      Well, I\'M BACK BABY
      !!! :finger:

I had two last night, one lasting a few seconds, but long enough to gain some control of my thoughts sufficiently, so I could prepare myself for the second time. Basically I came across a choice: either I wake up trying to gain control, or I let the dream take me and lose lucidity. So, controversially, I chose to let the dream take me, and get back into the dream world. This actually made it easier to control it the next time I became lucid (and probably made it easier to become lucid, as it was already in my mind that it was a dream).

The next time I started to realise I was dreaming I was able to control my emotions better and had managed to secure lucidity enough to explore. In retrospect that was probably the reason why I lost control in my first attempt, due to my shock in being in a dream! It is strangely (or not) true how after many times of becoming lucid, even though they are still amazing, no matter how short they are, you just get used to it and can control your emotions and focus on the job at hand. Funnily enough, isn’t this similar to how the military are trained to react?

Well I was finally able to take a walk and explore my dream world, and interact with the characters in this world! I remember it being quite realistic, although I still knew it was a dream. I was also able to control people and situations for the first time, but not completely. L
Anyway, it lasted a good few minutes, enough to restore my confidence in my LD abilities.

…Next time it will be better!

Techniques: Vitamin B6 (been trying this for a few days)

      Story1: Little Girl | [b]Lucid
Well, I was in my bed (or not, this one was much larger than mine, and in a much larger room), with my gf. I can\'t remember if anything happened before much but there was a girl about 6 years old there who ran out of the room. It was at this point that I became lucid and I remember the girl was annoying me or doing something evil or something before I gained lucidity, so I decided to ignore her and turned around to look at my gf and the bed. I was a metal framed bed, very large, with a white duvet (none of which I actually own). The room was large with light coloured walls. Turned around again to leave and started to lose lucidity. This is when I decided to purposely lose lucidity, and stay in the dream world, instead of forcing it and probably waking up in the process.

      ...I lost lucidity...

      Story2: Picking a fight??? | [b]<span style="color:darkred">Lucid

... I can't exactly remember what happened next but I remember being outside the house I was apparently in. I realised, at that point, that it was a dream, and managed to calm myself enough to stabilise it. I then decided to explore. Probably for the first time in such a stabilised state!

I went off to the side of the building to find it had turned into a shopping mall. This didn’t, however, seem to bother me … in fact I didn’t even seem to remember it had been a house in the first place!!?? Anyway, when I got round the back there was a crowd of people following the path that was going round the shopping mall (this was now like a semi-enclosed path just outside the main building). One guy started being lairy (I don’t know how you say that in American … kind of annoying in a threatening manner). I thought, let him start, I’ll see what I’m made of in a dream world! But, alas, it never happened, and I woke shortly after!

      And another thing...
Not much, but it’s better than I’ve had in a long while. The most important thing here is that I managed to control the dream and stabilise it! This is a big breakthrough for me. Next time I will try to increase my lucidity instead of looking for a fight!
