      Kula's WILD Journal

This journal will document my various attempts at WILD, whether it's from a brief awakening or by using the WBTB method. Whenever i try the WBTB method i usually turn my alarm off and fall asleep again or get up for a few minutes and then go back to bed. Keeping a journal may actually encourage me to try harder.

      THE PLAN
Most days of the week i will get up at around 5.30 or 6.00 after 5-6 hours of sleep.
I will stay awake for 30 mins. In that time i will browse the forums, update my journal or read about dreaming.
I will go over my intended dream activity for the last 5 mins or so and fall asleep using the WILD method of focusing on hypnagogic imagery.

      POLYPHASIC SLEEP

From March 12 i will attempt to shift to a polyphasic sleep pattern. I will have a full night's sleep on the 11th. I will stay awake all night on the 12th and attempt to take a nap at 11am on the 13th.

      After that i will take naps every 4 hours at 1500, 1900, 2300, 0300, 0700 and 1100.

I am used to getting a lot of sleep, so i will likely fall asleep pretty quickly when 11am comes around.

It's nearly 7am on the 13th. Suprisingly, I'm not as tired as i was a few hours ago. I'll try taking a nap at 7am and see what happens

I managed to stick with the programme until 11pm on Saturday and i wussed out and slept for about 12 hours.

It wasn't such a bad thing because i realise now that a polyphasic sleep pattern may not be the best for me. I may consider trying again in the future, but for now it's no big deal.

I plan to use my lucid dreams to eliminate fears as well as for adventure. At the moment i have the following fears / phobias

      Fear of the dark
      Fear of confined spaces
      Fear of heights
Fear of insects in certain situations ------> I only fear insects sometimes when i am inside. If i am outside they do not bother me in the slightest. I'd say this fear is the mildest of the lot.

I have several planned dream activities and experiments. In the beggining i will just experiment with various abilities to practice my dream control. This experiments will include...

Control the weather and time of day
Summoning characters - Real characters such as celebrities and imaginary characters such as cartoon characters or furry characters. (There's more than a few Furry characters i'd like to get down and dirty with! )
      Changing my dream body
Flying - The ultimate ability - nuff said. Watching DBZ and playing Budokai 3 helps me to visualize flying
Fighting - Fighting DBZ style would kick ass, and learned fighting skills would pass over into waking life. It's possible as a result that my reflexes and speed may increase in real life.

There are a several specific dream activities that i want to try. Here are some of them...

      Doc Ock Tentacles
I'd like to try using mechanical tentacles, like Alfred Molina has in Spider-Man 2. It would be interesting to see how the arms react and if i could control them all individually.

      Dragonball Z style fighting
For those of you who haven't seen DBZ, it's a Japanese anime. The action is pretty extreme. Characters fly, shoot energy beams, punch enemies into mountains etc.

      Teleportation
I would like to perfect instantaneous teleportation...moving from one place to another instantly.

      Weather / light control
Simple experiments may involve making it rain and to change from day to night. More complex experiments could involve making a tornado

      Time Control
This would involve slowing down time, speeding it up and freezing it completely.

There are many more but these are my favourites

In my dream last night, i had a false awakening in which i 'woke up' wearing my headphones listening to music (A Toto song). In the previous dream, i heard the song and 'woke up', thinking that i had left my headphones on!! It seemed so real. I concentrated on this music to initiate a WILD from within the dream!

In the lucid dream, i didn't have full awareness, but enough to shout verbal commands. I shouted "Increase clarity now!" The dream stabalised a little, and the visuals got better. I then instinctively said "Thank You"

It seems strange that i should be thanking what is essentially myself, but it seemed right. If you make demands of your subconscious in a dream rather than asking, you may achieve better results because there is no doubt in your mind what the result will be. I wonder if the clarity would have increased if i had asked?

I now believe that demanding things and thanking yourself for them is a good way to go.
What do you guys think? Should you dominate your subconscious or work with it?

This morning, i had several small WILDS, which is quite unusual for me (In the sense that ANY WILDS actually occured ). It was pretty much an instant movement into a dream. I saw images before my eyes as soon as i closed my eyes, and i seemed to be in the dream within seconds. However, i did not have full lucidity, which i find both highly annoying and very interesting.

How can i loose my lucidity within a couple of seconds?

It's annoying, but these results actually encourage me...results WILL COME!
