      AlexEbling's Dream Journal

This is my first entry, and I've never written down my dreams before, so give me a break. Anyhoo, here's one I had about a week ago. I became lucid almost as soon as the dream started. I was standing in the middle of the quad of my school. Everyone was walking around and I only recognized a few of the students. One of them, a girl who's crushing on me and making no task of being subtle with it, came up to me and asked me if my VCR was working (?). I decided to try to use dream control to kinda take control over her mind, just to see if I could. I tried to make her slap herself in the face, but what was weird was that instead somebody came up behind me and pushed me. When I turned around, whoever pushed me was gone and when i got back up, the girl ended up slapping me.
I wish I could say that not all of my dreams were like this, but they are. Every dream character that's based on someone from the Real World is realy weird. I take more interest in the characters that aren't based on anyone. The original dream characters are always reccuring and have very stable personalities. Call me weird if ya want to, but I really find dream characters interesting, even fascinating. Their personalities seem so life-like.

You know, I have the exact same issue. I didn't realise it until I just read your post. If I try to control people in my dreams that I know in real life, I get all kinds of odd problems. Excpetion being when I LD about famous people. But yeah, if I totally make up a DC, I find dream control to be much easier.

      Wonder why that is?

      Good Ol' Morgan

This is from last night. I was walking through Central Park, New York, and I just became Lucid out of nowhere. I decided to walk around for a while, just to see what the park is like. I didn't see any DC's but one: a recurring character who isn't based on anyone from the real world. She says her name is Morgan Like I've said, recurring original DCs have really stable personalities and sometimes really seem intelligent. It's the DCs based on people from the real world that are weird.
Anyhoo, I was walking down the path in the park and Morgan fell out of a tree and landed on the path right in front of me. She just smiled and said hi. I waved and tried to go on, but she kept following me and staring at me. I tried to use dream control to make her disappear or anything, but she was still there, smiling and staring. Morgan does that a lot.
Suddenly, the landscape morphed and we were both standing in the middle of a desert. Morgan was still looking at me, so I decided to ask her something. I asked her what's it like to be a character in a dream. She stopped smiling and answered "Well, what's it like to be from the Waking World?" I didn't know how to answer the question, so I didn't. I just decided to use dream control to teleport back to Central Park. Unfortunately, Morgan instantly ran up to me and pushed me on to the ground, which woke me up.
