      In Dreams

      1. Morning of January 3, 2006
My present roommates and I have moved into a new apartment. It's in a distinctly urban area, with a feel much like downtown Philadelphia. I'm looking for a $75 check [I received a gift of $75 from my boss in addition to a lottery ticket this Christmas]. I can't find it anywhere and I ask my roommates to let me know if they see it.
I walk outside to the street [where I become conscious of the urban atmosphere]. I look around and almost every car is an Audi A4. I turn to my right to head down the crowded sidewalk and I see two military vehicles. The Jeep backs up and takes a right down the street in front of me. I notice an "Acura" emblem on the front fender of the second vehicle. As it drives by, I see it has some strange engine powering it. The "engine" connects to the trunk or rear bumper and extends some sort of driveshaft to the rear axle.
Nevertheless, these vehicles take off and I don't see them anymore. I am not worried because I see an interesting poster that I want to steal to keep in our apartment as a decoration [The advertising poster is similar to one that my father produces and one he noticed this Saturday at the marina. I saw him looking at it, made the connection to his business, and asked him if he was looking at the poster. To this question, he smiled and agreed that he was looking at it.].
A black car pulls up with an obviously wealthy family inside. They are all well-dressed with sunglasses. The family consists of a mother, a father, and two sisters. Each are about my age, but one is obviously the elder. The younger of the sisters smiles at me and I am not sure if she is flirting. I flirt back. Then I remember that my room is a mess and that I should clean it up if I am to bed this girl [women = sex? I feel shameful for this in my waking state]. This is the only time the girl has any impression.
I go upstairs and my friend Brnt is there in my apartment. I am only slightly startled that a friend from home should be at my apartment, but I am happy to see an old friend. I open the closet and there are tons of individually bottled drinks, like orange juice and a lemonade tea. I tell Brnt that I am thirsty and he offers me one of the lemonade teas [does he live here too or is he just storing drinks in my closet? I don't really seem to think about this as odd]. It tastes just like lemonade tea [I distinctly remember the taste; it was over-sugared, like most of those cheap plastic-stored drinks usually are].
Someone brings me my check with the lottery ticket, a Christmas card, and some other papers [I believe it may have been my mother, bringing the items from my truck, for that is where these items sat for some time before I made any progress with them].
I go upstairs to my room. It looks exactly like my room back home, and even with the same furniture. The floor layout is even the same [This should strike me as odd, but it doesn't, I am obviously back home in my room, not in Philadelphia or a city). I decide to move a shelf against the back wall over beside another shelf, and then push the single bed against the wall [I just recently performed this exact adjustment]. The shelves are heavy, but the first moves very easily. The second I have to "teeter" back and forth on its corners to move.

I suppose because of all my new thoughts and excitement with dreams, it upped my recall!

      Night/Morning of January 3rd/4th

      1. Crap. Now that I sit down, I cannot remember this one.

      2. I'm in some sort of Star Wars game or something. There are two flying jets screaming around through the air. My best friend, Jay is cheering me on. The objective is that I must jump around all these platforms that are hanging from the sky. They are all silver and there is a tone of dark blue light around. Anywho, I jump to the main platform and the jets fly by, but miss me. There are two paths from here, one to the end, and one to a gun to shoot down the planes. I opt for the gun path, but it is a long jump to the platform between the large main platform and the gun platform. I doubt that I can make it, but Jay encourages me to jump. So I do. And make it! The planes fly by again and miss. I'm not worried at all about the planes and I now feel totally confident that I will succeed in this situation.

      3. I'm walking with my stepmother and my grandmother through a store. I don't really know why we are there, but I ask my grandmother if she will be joining us as we go to my uncle's house [I have no idea what we were going to do at my uncle's]. My grandmother picks out two packages of store-brand cookies to take to my uncle's, but my stepmother trades her with some name-brand cookies and sets the store-brand ones back on the shelf. WTF?

      4. I'm in some neighborhood [that reminds me now of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas] and I go to this small white house where I see a bunch of Asian people partying. It turns out that it is these kids I used to know in high school. I get to the door and see a few people standing outside. One guy is drinking something out of a red cup. He tells me I can go in.
These two guys walk me through the house and introduce themselves. One calls himself "WE" and I forgot the other's name. He looks Vietnamese so I envision his name being spelled "HUY" because I had a friend in high school with that name. I walk out the back door [I don't really remember the inside of the house] and I see everyone sitting around in chairs and on a low overhanging roof that is about my height. There is one asian guy who is really red and he is also drinking out of a red cup. People joke with him and he tells me, "Listen man, this is not my first beer!" and I fake-laugh and tell him that it's cool.
Then I see the Huy that I remember from high school. He is sitting around the corner of the house with some people. But for some reason, I don't think of his name as Huy. I think it is some two-part name like Le Hoang or something [wtf?]. When I say the name, he responds. The two guys sit in a chair next to the corner of the house. Huy [or Li Hoang?] comes up and shakes my hand and we give one of those "one hand shakes and one hand hugs" greetings.
We make small talk and then I guess someone must have sat in his spot because I said, just as a little funny, "Dude, you can sit in Huy's lap," pointing to the guy who walked me through the house. Everyone looks at me and is quiet. We walk toward the middle of the yard and I look at the guy who introduced himself as "WE," and him and the other guy that walked with me are just staring at me. I think that I said, "Wait, what is your name again?" or something like that. And he says, "My name is Newman, man."
I felt kind of awkward, because I knew that my friend's name was Huy, but I also knew that the guy introduced himself as "WE." Fortunately, everyone started cheering. Everyone ran over to the fence to look at the street.
This huge black dude came running by with a baton in his hand. Everyone was yelling "GO GO GO!" Then two more came with batons. It was a relay race [it had to be 12:00 am, I have no idea why the hell there was a relay race going on]. The pass was made about 200 yards to our left and we watched the first, second, and third pass offs.
      That was it. Really weird.

      Night of January 4th, 2006

      1. I am riding around with some friends in a car. I see a clothes shop and tell them I'd like to stop, if it's ok, because I'd like to buy a new hoody [I've wanted to get one for a month or so now]. We go in and the shop has all sorts of clothes arranged by type. That is, there is a section titled "T-shirts" and a section titled "Jeans," etc. Well, I go to the "Hoody" and thumb through all of the ones they have. I find a decent one and take it off the rack. I figure a large may be too big, but I try it on. Perfect. Then this girl, I think Christina, walks up [she may have been in the car]. She tells me that she's found a funny shirt. It is a white t-shirt and it has a picture and words on it. It's one of those shirts that says something funny. Apparently the joke is something about people eating sushi and having foul flatulence from the wasabi. I don't really understand the text because I can't really read it [errr... reality check? Just passed right by me ]. I tell her I'll buy it anyway. Then she has some sort of pendant or something that hangs at the bottom of a necklace. She tells me I should buy a necklace. I look at them and they are all $9.95. I decide that is too much for one of their cheaply made necklaces.

      2. I am outside at a crowded movie theater expecting to meet Jennifer. I look at my phone and it is on silent with two missed calls. Both numbers I don't recognize [but could read clearly]. I check my voice message and Jennifer has said she cannot make it and that I should come to her house. Next thing I remember, I am at her house and a bunch of people are there that I knew in high school. However, they are kids that I would generally consider trouble. One of them offers me a hit on his pipe but I decline it. Then another one, Tyrone, shows me his bag of pot. It is candy watermelons with pot cooked into them. Somehow, they are putting some of these little candy watermelons into a pipe and smoking them. I smelled the watermelons and they did smell like watermelon. Though I was initially uncomfortable, I sort of relaxed and sat down.

------I was looking at a magazine, saw a skateboard, and remembered another dream----

      3. I vaguely remember trying to skateboard. I can't skate for anything, but someone was trying to teach me. I fell off once because I tried to jump something, despite the fact I could hardly go in a straight line. I remember trying to learn how to gain momentum by pushing with the leg off the board, but just couldn't balance.

I finally remembered some more dreams.

Night February 8th / Morning of February 9th

1.) Somehow my roommate is driving my friend's old Montero on the highway and I'm riding with him. We get pulled over at some gas station with a bunch of bikers. The cops let us go and somehow I get to take this nasty biker lady's chopper. I drive it up to my apartment. It's kinda shady, but I realize that I need to take the bike to her in a city about 30 minutes south of here. I think that someone will have to come pick me up because I won't have a ride. I drive it down anyway and go into this nice gas station. That's all I can piece together. Cept I remember when the police pulled us over that I was afraid we'd be arrested for pot..

2.) I'm at home and I want some ice cream. I go in the refridgerator and I find some healthy crap called black and white or something. It's a mix of chocolate and vanilla with perhaps some other specks in it. Anyhow, I ask my stepmom for some and she tells me that she got it in Dallas when my dad was in a regatta. Whatever. I spoon some out, ever so carefully so as to make sure that I make a straight divide in the container between ice cream and emptiness. The little I've taken has filled up a cup in which I already had some milk.

2.1 dreams stuck with me last night:

1.) I end up talking to this guy about this red Lancer Evolution sitting on a dyno. He tells me the thing puts down about 400 something to wheels. I ask him if I can drive it and he says that it's cool, but he has to show me a video of it first. He shows me this video of the same car doing a wheelie then flipping and crashing. I decide that I had better pass because I don't want to mess it up. Well, we go down this small little road into a sort of clean alleyway behind some buildings with garages. Here there are a bunch of cars screwing around. I guess this is where they test them and whatnot.

For some retarded reason (I'm so goddamn tired of dreaming about this girl) my exgirlfriend just happens to hang out with these guys. We start talking and she tells me that she knows I'm here to see her. I ask her what she does with these guys and she says she dated one of them, but now just hangs around with them and the cars. She says we can be together again. Then she gives me some ultimatum like "I don't want to waste my time if you didn't come here to ask me out." I particularly did not want to ask her out and I suddenly felt a sense of closure. (though I've felt a sense of closure for a long time????)

I walk away from her and that is that. Then the cars are driving around goofing off, but we see two cop cars by the garage. The guys say it's time to put up all the cars. Turns out, the cop cars are being worked on by these guys. ?

2.) This was a weird one. My family goes to get ice cream. My parents order, then I order. I get a shake or something. I eat it. Then, I see that they offer a small cone for free, like at jason's deli. I really want chocolate ice cream on the cone, but I figure they only offer vanilla. I walk back up to the counter and ask for the free cone. They say sure and make a big cone. I'm like wtf? I better not have to pay for this. Then I ask if it's free and he says no. I get mad. I say man, I wanted the small one! Then the guy takes the cone, breaks off the top, so it looks smaller, and gives it back to me. I say "what the hell? Is this free now?" He says no, four dollars. I get pissed. I say Man, I want the free ice cream. He tells me that I'll have to pay four dollars. I pull out some wad of money and I am surprised to find like 300 dollars in my pocket. I fumble around looking for four dollars out of the wad, but for some reason, everytime I think I have four, one of the one's is a five or a ten. I just throw a wad of about 20 bucks at the guy, curse, and leave. it was weird.

3.) then I remember riding a wheelie on my bicycle and falling off and laughing with people laughing (not condescendingly)
