      Flagg's Journal

      Saturday, 4th February 2006

The world was ending - society as we know it was being ripped apart by a horrible zombie making disease that was rapidly spreading throughout the country.

The earliest memory I have is sitting in my dads store, having been dragged along to yet another forsaken staff function. After quickly withdrawing to a predictably seclusive environment, I began to realize that the infection was spreading.

I managed to escape, with mystery girl, in a beaten up car. We didn't get far before the car broke down and left us stranded. I continued alone.

I think we were at that batch, or somewhere similar. We were doing something... there were vampires, etc, that we were trying to kill. One of them had a Freddy style scissor hands set up, and I was dumb enough to fight him. He slashed me but I cut his arm off.

When we were done, we realized they weren't dead because they were vampires. A really important looking mortician looking priest guy said some words over the cardboard box one of them was in, and I proceeded to give the incantation to keep him dead. This was repeated for some other ones.

Eventually I realized there was a conspiracy going on with some piece of history... its all fuzzy though... a medieval iPod replica was on sale, and the aforementioned mortician was angry about it, because of Paris Hilton.

The last couple of things I remember are a very colorful, abstract castle, with some kind of monk... and peach slice. I wanted to keep eating the slice but when I was waking up I realized it was just a dream. Bummer.

I took a few pills containing valerian, hops, passion flower, ginger root powder and peppermint leaf powder roughly an hour before sleep. The following dream(s) were extremely vivid and abstract:

      The Psychedelic Misadventure

The earliest I remember is my dad, his partner and I were walking through an uneven field of extremely tall grass, which started turning into that tall, jagged, cutting grass we sometimes see around here.

As we progressed, I found myself noticing many strange and lovely mushrooms (and what were supposed to be mushrooms). I have never done psilocybin mushrooms before, but later when we stopped, my dad gave me one, which I promptly ate.

Instantly I became unsteady and dissociated - sitting down seemed like a lot of work. My dad said that I was being an idiot - that there's no way they would be effective straight after consumption, but damn...

The only *real* hallucination I actually got from them was seeing a towel come alive and fly over the room, and I think my dad pissed off a giant drawn brown monster, but I cant really remember.

      Lucidity

There were zombies in the bathroom... fucking zombies...

They had to stay in there, but the maid (which doesn't exist in real life) was dumb and let them out because of some excuse related to karma. Man, those zombies could RUN.

Well, within 5 seconds I was out of the house and jumping fences, but that bitch was gaining. I don't want to remember how that ended.

A little later on, or in another dream, I looked at my hands and realized i was dreaming... it was amazing - intensely vivid and I wasn't easily distracted.

So what do you do in a lucid dream? Well, I always seem to do one of the most pointless things, thanks to my severely reduced memory. The task of the day was flying.

I managed to get a bit of air time, but staying up was a lot of effort. This (might) be how I escaped the zombies, but probably not.

After a while, my dreamscape turned into a very nice looking city, and I was still trying to fly. Unfortunately, flying and power lines do NOT mix, and I found myself receiving some kind of electro shock treatment. I soon learned to make sure there were no wires above me before I flew.

I made it pretty high too, to the top of the tallest building, etc.

The rest of the entry was made later in the day, so the following events are probably out of order...

Somehow I was persuaded to help a hairdresser out or something... I can't remember much of the events that followed, but it was weird.

After night fell on the city, I was still lucid to some degree, and my attention was diverted to an old building on a rocky hill... the building was mostly built from rusty cast iron, and was patched up (think hillbilly house), but it was of a reasonable size with a fairly modern, curvy roof.

I don't know where my interest in the building came from. I considered it deserted and it had very little relevance to my dream characters mission of dodging power lines (hey, not as easy as it looks).

I made it to the far roof of the building (the rooms on it had uneven heights) and sat down. I looked at my hands (as I tend to do when I'm lucid) and was soon overcome by fear. A rather decomposed looking zombie girl appeared from over the edge of the roof and rushed towards me. I pointed at her and yelled *bang!* and she went flying. They kept coming, but I soon woke up.

I think it's worth mentioning that I did not take any valerian at all, nor any vitamins, as I did the previous night, and while the dreams were not nearly as vivid last night, they were considerably more so than normal.

      The China Incident

We were on an old, sinking boat. We all abandoned ship - the murky water wasn't as deep as I first thought, and we quickly made our way to the nearest building.

The building belonged to what appeared to be a city raised on pillars over the water, although it was very mismatched as the buildings seemed to be a coarse, yellow stone, which would probably be quite difficult to hold up.

Anyway, the building we chose turned out to be a kind of indoor road network (still following the yellow stone theme, although the stone was a lot smoother, almost polished).

A member of the group was pulled aside by a rather mean looking man holding a very long chain. I took the point of view of the unfortunate person, and tried to get away from the guy, who was using his chain for a whip.

Evidently, being whipped to death by a chain was too good for one of us, and I was driven into an extremely large pool. The water in the pool was as murky as the ocean outside, and the stone surrounding it was a lot darker than the rest of the complex. Everything changed to 3rd person, and a man who was supposedly the emperor or something was looking down at me from a large, completely open room facing the pool. I was the entertainment of the day.

My point of view changed back to another member of the party, and we concerned ourselves with saving the doomed man. I can't remember now exactly what we did, but in the end, the emperor released a rather large crocodile into the pool. The rest of the dream is very hazy at best.

      The Second Psychedelic Misadventure

I can remember we were at school, where we normally are at lunch. I had somehow come across some Datura seeds, which I didn't want to take because I have previously been told that it is extremely damaging to your liver. While I was explaining this, Nathan popped the seed into his mouth.

While I am aware that one seed is not really the normal dose, it was more than adequate in the dream. At least half a dozen people took these things, and I mentioned to the other sober guy that we would have to baby sit these guys, and sure enough, we did.

Everyone started doing weird stuff... following imaginary people around, wandering off, acting erratically, etc. Eventually we ended up in a class, but the effects had subsided considerably. I said that the effects should last for at least a few more hours, but the users remained pretty calm.

      Random Bits and Pieces

The only other dream I remember only consisted of my mum moving into a new house, which was EXTREMELY abstract. I started looking for a place to put the Wharfedales, but that's all I remember. Not too interesting... I think it might have been part of the water dream, though.[/b]
