Was it real, or was it a dream? & The mind's power.

Have you ever been going on with life, when an unknown memory hits you? And yet, you are so sure it happened, but can't remember... if it was a dream... or if it was real?

I was being driven home from a Scout Show today, when that happened. I remember being outside, with someone else, and they start kicking up the dirt to show a slab of concrete and saying, "Thats what concrete really looks like", I replied back with "Duh". I knew that this had happened, but yet, I don't remember this happening. It's hard to explain, but I knew I didn't just make it up there, I knew that it had happened before, but I had no idea when that was, I don't remember it happening, nor do I know if it was from a dream that is now popping up, or an insignificant part of my life that I'm just now remembering.

<EDIT> Thinking about it... could it possibly be something belonging in the Beyond Dreaming section? Could that possibly have been someone elses memory or dream that I have somehow gotten?

My other point, was as I was being driven home, was I closed my eyes to fell asleep, and next thing I knew I was entering my city about to get home. This has happened many times before, when I come back from a trip or something, I always seem to wake up always at the same place. Coincadince? I think not. I think that somehow, the mind is able to know where it is, without visual sensors such as the eyes.

I agree. And the same for time..
Some claim that it is our circadian clock & rhythm.
I don't know if it is that or just the detailed memory stored in our subconscious...or something else, who knows. But I agree that it is more than coincidence.

I don't think what he is describing qualifies as Déjà vu. Déjà vu is when something happens to you or you see something and you feel as if it has happened before in the exact same way. From what I understand, a memory of something just hit him, but he isn't sure where it fits in his life or if it was a dream, or something else. This has happened to me a couple times, but I think the memories were mainly from dreams, although for some of them I'm not too sure. The best I can say is try to remember anything that happened directly before or after that, and if it is logical for it to have happened in real life.

This has happened to me almost daily for about a year, following the same routine each day when I went to school. I would wake up at the exact same place, about 20 seconds before we got to the bus stop. I definitely think the mind can know where it is without necessarily seeing anything, maybe just by feeling the changes in motion particular to a certain place." [/b]
