Hooray! I went lucid for the first time since I've been trying. I've done it before, just never intentionally. I realized I was dreaming when my tooth broke and fell out. This happens all the time in my dreams. I also realized that I don't talk in my dreams. I mostly watch them silently but when I need to communicate I do it through telepathy. Unfortunately I tried to make too many changes at once and ended up waking myself up. :-/

Sweet! I did it. I told myself I'd LD and not try to change anything except my form and I managed to have a full shift. It was bloody awesome, I watched my hands change fully to paws. The only drawback was I fealt a bit clumsy running on all fours.
Sadly I can't seem to stay lucid very long. My mind wanders too easily.

      Nice Congratulations.

I'm sure with practice and in time you'll be able to control them better and be able to maintain them longer as well as learn to be better at getting around in altered forms.

I am not quite to that point yet, but someday .

      Congratulations PariahPoet
While you are you lucid, remind yourself to keep doing reality checks. That might help you stay lucid longer.
I am so happy to hear that you got in touch with the cat in you

And Lady Anise is correct. We all can get better through practice and keeping up the motivation. Stephen LeBarge kept practicing for three years till he was able to have vivid and constant LDs.

Ok weird.... I managed to go lucid last night. I'm not really sure why, I didn't notice any dream signs, I just realized I was dreaming. But as soon as I did I began to shift which was not really a good thing because I was driving a truck down a slick road in the rain. I couldn't hold onto the wheel with paws or even reach the gas or brakes. I managed to change back, but what puzzles me is that I didn't mean to shift. Perhaps since this is what I usually like to do when I am lucid, I have become conditioned to do it automaticly?

It could just have been a fluke though, maybe the dream still had a little control over you when you became lucid?

Anyway, it's great that you managed to get lucid without seeing any dreamsigns, that means that you're really getting good a telling between dreams and reality. A lot of people who have been trying for years still can't do that.

That could be. I really havn't found any dreamsigns that I can go on except my frequent teeth breaking/jaw dislocating dreams. Most of the time it is just like my brain suddenly clicks on and I realize, "wait a minute, this isn't real". *shrugs*
My main problem is maintaining lucidity. As I noted above, my mind tends to wander and I quickly forget that I am dreaming or wake myself up. Any advice for dealing with this would be more than welcome. ^_^

Here we go again- I dreamed I was moving back into the dorms. (oh the horror! O_O) Anyway, I was in the bathroom when I realized it was a dream. I went to wash my hands anyway (I'm odd like that), when I thought to myself, here I am washing my hands when I could be going out doing cool dream stuff. I slipped into a shift again.....I still have no idea why that happens.... I tried to become another person, but I can't seem to do any other for transformation other than between my wereside and my human self. Other forms don't 'fit' right. Maybe eventually... I also tried to communicate with some dc's but it didn't work.
Eventually my form faltered again and when I came back I was blind, and in a panic I ended up killing a dc. This bothered me so much that I tried to wake up but it wouldn't work. I just spun around in a black void, thrashing around, unable to see or speak. That was rather unpleasant.

Wow! It's been too long! First LD in months and it was a good one! I think I finally managed a WILD. I worked a very hectic 9 and a half hour day and when I came home I was so completely exhausted that I only stayed up another hour or so before I went to bed.
In any case, I fell alseep so fast that my mind didn't have time to shut down and I "woke up" in a dream.
I started out in a white, sterile room that had a door on either end, a desk, a house plant, and a black guy standing in the middle of the room waiting for me. I think it was my mind's version of the Matrix "loading room"(complete with Morpheus!)
Anyway, I moved foreward through the door I had just come through and asked the man to stand in front of it. (I guess to keep unwanted persons or creatures from entering my dream) He smiled, noded, and went to guard the door. (He must've done a good job because I didn't have anything unpleasant entering this dream. Hope I can continue to have him as my 'dream guardian'!)This was the first time I've been able to interact with a dc...
I then crossed the room and went through the other door. It opened up to my college campus. Not very interesting, but I learned how to fly. (That was pretty fun, but hard to fine-tune. I usually ended up going way too fast.) I can't remember much else except I met up with my boyfriend and I think I ended up teaching him how to fly too.
That was the first time I have ever flown in a dream. All in all, it was pretty cool, and no un-wanted shifts this time! Oh and I also remebered I could read in this dream although I didn't have very good detail vision, but I did read billboards as I flew by them.

Ok, here's one from about a week ago.
My boyfriend and I were at lake Livingston and for some reason it was really polluted for some reason. In our infinite dream wisdom we decided to go swimming. For some reason I had some kind of sketchbook or journal with me that I was trying to keep from getting wet....as I swam. I dropped it and managed to catch it on my foot in the water and my boyfriend held on to me so I wouldn't go under. Suddenly I feel him pulling me along and look up and see a huge fin coming at us at breakneck speed. I wondered what the heck was going on because I knew that there aren't sharks in a freshwater lake. Just as I finish the thought, the fin went down and a killer whale jumped out of the water still coming at us. And still I wondered what the heck it was doing in a lake. Eventually we got the the shore and were safe.
