Greetings, I am Arachanox, and as of this post I have experienced zero (0) lucid dreams!

But of course, I am just beginning to try. Therefore, according to the first step I have read, I will be posting all my fuzzy dreams here and performing reality checks hourly in hopes of one day being able to become a lucid dreamer.

      So...here we go!

February 15, 2007, Method: "I Will Remember My Dreams"

      1. I only remembered three dreams today, and the first was the strangest. I recall being like a character in an old swords n' sorcery type game. It didn't make much sense because I was seeing like the overhead view you would in a video game, but no game screen, keyboard, anything. Just the overhead view. But I could remember myself pressing keyboard keys, especially P. P would make this little bar beneath my character drop by one number, with the maximum 25. Whenever that would occur, something like a dark flood of purple water (poison?) would expand, flooding the hordes and hordes of enemies coming at me. These enemies, I recall, where actually the "good guys", holy dwarf type people with giant hammers, which was confusing. I usually aren't the evil/bad/necromancer type person in the games I play, but I was this time. My fluffy poison did absolutely nothing to hurt them it seemed, and by the transition of my first dream to the second, I was cornered by two Dwarf warriors with golden names above their heads (can't remember their names.)

      2. As the dwarf war drifted away, I appeared in one of my semi-recurring dreams. I believe this was my second or third time in it. I appear in a jungle type setting with extremely tall trees with wooden walkways connecting them. You can't see the ground (or rather I didn't notice it) and I know I was on some four-wheeled device (possibly a wheelchair? jeep? skateboard?). I drift through the walkways, almost like a trail in a nature park or something. By the time the "first trail" ends, I always, ALWAYS make a wrong turn, and have to backtrack a little while before getting to the second trailhead again. That dream then disappeared, leading the to most fuzzy one.

      3. This third one was probably most fuzzy because I woke up during it. There was no transition at all, but my untrained non-lucid (yet&#33 mind didn't detect anything. All I can recall is that there was a path...with other people on it. It strangely reminded me of a long path of refugees I saw on this Japanese anime I saw a few days ago. Where the path was, I don't know, but I remember there was a turn on a cliff or something, and then there was something religious. Highly religious. Don't have a SINGLE clue of what it was, but at the end of the path in that anime, there was a religious shrine, so maybe that was my influence. Regardless, it was time for me get up then, and I awoke.

And those were my first 3 dreams during my path to lucidity. I do have to say that I haven't remembered a single dream in six months until I did the "I WILL remember my dream!" technique last nigth, so that was exciting! So I guess I should say hi all, for I will be here for quite a while!

      Respect, Salutations and all that,

      ~Arachanox

Eh, absolutely nothing. Blank mind. But that's why I'm training! No more 61-point thingy though.

February 17, 2007, Method: Used the Avaliable mp3

Well I awoke at 3 a.m. as planned, turned on the mp3 on my computer, and went back to sleep. One hour later, I woke up. But in between that time something strange happened. The details are fuzzy however.

Either I had a dream about lucid dreaming, or a very unfocused lucid dream. I remember telling myself I'm dreaming, and wishing that I had some chocolate cake (I'm allergic to anything in a bakery). It appeared, and I ate it (yum&#33. But the thing is, I'm not sure if I was lucid then, and since it wasn't very detailed, i'm not counting it has my first lucid.

February 18, 2007, Method: Just Working on Dream Recall

Yea, I got some recall last night! Though they were four short dreams, I'm glad that I remembered something.

      1. The first dream I can remember originated from all that posting I did in the "Religion and Spirituality" forum last night. My family and I went to some strange place, I don't remember what it was like. But standing out from the entire city, as if the other buildings weren't there, there was this giant temple. What surprised me was that it wasn't a temple, but a Roman Catholic Church. So, following the flow of the dream, I went inside. For some reason, time just skipped to the end of the mass. The pastor dismissed us, and the dream faded.

      2. This one was strange to me. For some reason, the family and me had just gone shopping I guess, but we decided not to take what we bought out of our car. Five minutes later, I saw two guys stealing it all outside. I went out there, and tackled them, which didn't make much sense seeing as they were twice as big as me. We fought for a while, but then that dream faded as well.

      3. The third dream I had regarded school. I was in class, it was either Spanish or some class about the world. The teacher, who I can't recall details about, was collecting some assignment or other, and of course I didn't have it (dream). I remember trying to do it, but then the dream left me again.

      4. My last dreams are always the most fuzzy, because I wake up and any subconcious concentration is broken. All I can remember are these words spoken by someone: "The Japanses are fools, they can't turn copper into iron."

So no lucidity tonight, but I had more recall than other times. I guess I'm getting better over time!

Wow, in one week you've already imporved your dream recall in ways that can take weeks, remembering more than one dream [four's really good, even if they're not as vivid as you want them to be].

Call me strange for reading other people's Dream journals but it's just as interesting to me as finding out what my mind has in store for me dream wise since the human mind is a complex and unique thing.

      Good luck on tonights dream

Thanks for the luck! And it isn't strange, I read other people's dream journals to see what other's minds are creating at night.

      1/2 lucids so far...

April 2, 2007, Method: More Dream Recall

Last night's dreams were weird. Occasionally I will go through a period where I will become absolutely obssessed with a show or something, and I will try to find every single thing about it that I could.

Well, yesterday was one of those days, and the topic happened to be the show Naruto. Thus, my dream was based upon that.

      Number of Dreams: 2 fragments
Quality of Recall: Low, fragments of memory
Senses Quality: High, I could remember all the visual aspects well, but nothing else as they were silent.

      1. The first fragment...if anyone knows in-depth about Naruto, then you would know that recently the series went through a 2 1/2 time skip to give time for the gennin to age a bit. Well my dream put together a situation of what if 2 1/2 more years passed, then what would they look like? I was given two very brief views of an 18-year old Kiba and 19-year old Neji. For the sake of describing details, it looked like Kiba was wearing the same type of jacket he wears now, except with the addition of spikes, almost like fangs, to the shoulders. I also think he had spikes on some boots, but I'm not sure. One more blurry memory is that I think that Kiba was holding a very large, spiked-hilt sword. I'm not sure. Neji looked the same as he does now, only taller.

      2. This was a completely different scene from before. It was like I stumbled into an old Gameboy Game, with the tradtional over-head view. I don't remember what my character looked like, but he walked around a little world until he came across another GameBoy low detail version of Kiba. After pressing a button next to him, a menu appeared, after which I selected 'Join Party'. Then Kiba began to follow me around wherever I walked...After a while more of aimless walking without any real memory, I pressed a button for 'Leave Party', and Kiba began to walk back to where I had orginally found him.

My dreams, are in essence, absolutely crazy. They can be so strange at times, but I guess they reflect my random personality.

Ah, you're dreams sound nice, even if it's only aimless walking. I can't blame you on the random feeling, random things tend to show up in my dreams too [even one with going to high school with Naruto characters, the classes were like normal high school but the homerooms and school itslef was amazing]. I hope you have more dreams that you can remember Arachanox, evenitself if random, they really do sound fun.

Since I'm starting over from a long time ago, it's back to square one with dream recall.

      July 22, 2008:

I could only remember a fragment of a single dream: a car pulling into my garage slowly, as to avoid my two cats who were running around inside.

I just woke up after five hours in a WBTB-styled attempt, so I don't have any lucidity yet. I was planning on waking up six hours into sleeping, but for some reason I woke up early. I think because of this, I only have a small fragment of a dream (or maybe my recall is still bad?) I'll try to recall as many details as I can:

July 23, 2008 (before REM sleep):

I am a ranger, wielding a bow with a dark, brown cape and similarly colored clothes on. The dream was from a third-person perspective, but it only lasted for a few seconds. I was standing on top of a yellow hill, perhaps a sand mound. It was obviously influenced from me playing Guild Wars for a few hours yesterday, especially since I have been dealing with the ranger class in-game a lot. But that's all I remember.

Ok then, I'm 34 minutes into staying up and I'm pushing for 60. When I wake up later hopefully I will have more dreams to share!

Well I woke up after another 3 1/2 hours, and yay I was able to remember some dreams! They are fairly abstract and game-related, but a step towards dream recall is always good.

July 23, 2008 (after REM sleep):

#1 Shuttle Wars: To anyone who is looking forward to Starcraft 2, this dream was reminiscent of that. It was in a traditional third-person perspective like many of my dreams are, but there was no game interface of any sort. The map very well could have been on the dark, deep blue-colored planet of Shakuras (the Dark Templar homeland), for it looked like that and had shattered cliffs. There was a great chasm separating the northeast and southwest bases, with me in the southwest I believe. A smaller plateau-island (an expansion, owned by me) sat in between in the middle of deep canyon, and it was covered with a few turret-like buildings that launched anti-air missiles (which is strange, because we were both Protoss and missiles are the Terran's deal).

Here's a picture of the topography of the map, but I'm not a good artist. And that isn't water on the sides, it's supposed to be a steadily darkening chasm. The map was completely dry.

So the battle summarized is this: the enemy has three pairs of shuttles hovering over docks and sent them over the chasm towards my center island. Though the missile turrets attempted to ward them off, the shuttles managed to get to the island. Due to my forgetfulness, I can't remember what specifically happened next, all I know is that I lost that match.

#2 That Evil Woman: Two nights ago, I struggled to remember anything from my dreams. I think this second dream was a spin-off of an earlier one, because it feels familiar. All the details like locations and names are gone, but the feelings remain. There is this woman, who for some reason I was bound to (not maritally, there were other kids with her as well). I think I was a young boy in this dream, 8-10. Anyway, I just -knew- what the point of the dream was without remembering how. That woman was casually directing me to murder someone, something that I could not manage to accomplish. While I worried about her anger when I knew I couldn't follow her order, I happened to miss going out somewhere with my parents and my aunt, who I don't see that often (which by the way completely threw off any straightforwardness in this dream). Finally, the time frame of "one and a half hours" seems prominent, but I don't know why. It has to do with my parents though, maybe how late I was before they realized I wasn't coming? I'm unsure. No picture because of a lack of memorable visuals.

#3 Quick Battle: This extreme fragment is a very quick one, involving Guild Wars again since it's the current game I'm playing. I was a Ritualist, in a fight, and I used a skill called "Lightning Touch" that knocked down foes, temporarily incapacitating them. Now normally I wouldn't bother you guys with such mundane and nerdy details, but I actually remember reading numbers in a dream! Something like this hasn't happened to me ever before, that I can remember. Whenever you highlight a skill in Guild Wars, it gives you three numbers, and this "Lightning Touch" costed 5 energy, took 1 second to activate, and recharged in 9 seconds. All of this makes no sense, because "Lightning Touch" is -not- a Ritualist skill; it's an Elementalist skill. And it doesn't knockdown people, it blinds them. One last minor detail for the sake of it: While the real lightning touch looks like this:
, it had this type of color scheme because all Ritualist skills are like it:

This dream lasted mere seconds, or if it lasted longer I forgot the majority of it.

#4 Stadium/another Guild Wars Dream: Though this fourth fragment is a continuation of sorts of the second and third dreams, the murderous intent plot is not there at all. I am with the "other kids" that the evil woman had, and we are in a giant indoor stadium discussing the capabilities of the fake "Lightning Touch". And that's all for this dream; I couldn't tell you of anything we said, what we looked like, etc.

#5: The Mafia Lord: This dream was literally dreamt seconds before I woke up, which explains why I can remember a complicated name. Breaking off from everything I just dreamed about, I visualized a long, dark hallway with a single, large man standing in the middle of it. I heard a voice speaking, and I didn't know if it was mine:

"Who was he? He was Guitarri Pitarro, ninth and final of the Italian mafia lords."

Now you can sue me if that isn't a real Italian name, because it probably isn't. And it is interesting, I always seem to have one-liners of speech right before I wake up when I dream. If only it happened before I dreamed, then it would be an excellent dream signal!

That's all for last night. Five is a good number, espeically since me "willing" to remember my dreams has caused me to come out of a dream dry-spell

Stay tuned for more random dreamscapes!
