      Sunday, November 30th 2008 - 4 lucid dreams!

Dream #1: Superbus! - Lucid: YESSSS - Type: WILD

The dream started on a school city bus. I was on it (standing at the front, holding on to a metal bar) with my brother, Kory, (who was sitting at the back at the time). It was just in the morning, starting to get bright out. I had just realized that I was in bed just a few seconds ago and therefore I must be dreaming.
The bus driver looked kind of like the one from Sky High. That made me want to fly. I suddenly felt the bus lifting up in to the air, scaring the crap out of everybody on it. It was fun!
It was only successful for a few moments though, I had to land the bus because of everybody being so scared. I loved the sensation of falling rapidly while the bus was still in the air.
The bus landed just on the bridge near the school I went to in Middle School (and we still go over the bridge every morning).
It landed with such a tremendous amount of force the bus's wieght all together made the bridge deformed. Me and my brother were then kicked off the bus, for "making it unsafe for the others". We got off just near where it landed, still on the bridge. When it left, we just stood and watched it go. After that, Kory told me that the ride was fun and that he wanted try doing it again.
I agreed. We were almost successful, but I looked behind me and saw that Kory had tripped and fell on the pavement and landed face first. The dream faded shortly after.

Dream #2: Waaait a Minuute... - Lucid: YES - Type: DILD
I was up and about, having breakfast and telling the others about the WILD I had just had. They sort of believed me.
I got myself into the habit of doing reality checks when something seemed wrong, and something did seem wrong. So I did a reality check; I looked at the current time: 6:48 AM.
I looked away. I then looked back at the clock, which now says 00:01:48.6666666667 PM.
So I pointed my index finger at Mom (so she would freeze in position, still being able to move face, mouth, shoulders and arms, but not being able to say anything whacked). I told her that I realized I was actually still dreaming, but she did not believe me. I decided what's the point if she's gonna be like that.
I just left, not doing or saying anything to her.
The dream faded shortly there after.

Dream #3: The Darkness - Lucid: YES - Type: DILD
When I came to, I found myself in the bathroom, about to urinate. I had still remembered the other two dreams: the one where I made the school bus fly, and the one where I couldn't convince my mom that I realized I was dreaming.
I was about to urinate, which was a dream sign, as where I would usually urinate in dreams I would wake up and find myself ejaculating in real life. So I decided to ignore the urge until I confirmed if I was dreaming. I pinched myself; I felt no pain, I plugged my nose and I could still breathe, I looked in the mirror and my face looked very polygonal - in my case - very deformed. I pointed at my right eye in the mirror to see if it would move toward the area I was pointing at. It did. This lead to the conclusion that I was still dreaming.
I decided to explore. I exited the bathroom (it's light still being on) and I came out in to the hallway. I tried to turn off the bathroom light, it wouldn't turn off!
It was almost pitch black out in the hallway.
I wanted a little bit more light in the house. I remembered one method I made up where you have to make your back point towards the area in the setting you want to affect. So I did; I turned my back in the general direction of the front door. I told myself, "I want light!"
Suddenly I turned back, I saw the door was open and there was suddenly a very bright light shining through the door.
I thought, "Hmm... a light! Let's follow it..."

Dream #4: The Darkness - Continued - Lucid: YES - Type: DILD
After that, I found my self running through the yard and right past the light source. Well, I thought, "That was weird." It was still very dark out, though not as dark as it was out in the hallway. I could see the streetlights very vividly, and I decided to try flying. It wasn't successful, of course, flying takes tons of practice in your dreams!
After a few attempts, I knew I had a lot on my mind, so I decided to wake myself up (to remember the dreams I had).
It succeeded. I checked the time: 5:41 AM. I looked away, and checked it again; still 5:41 AM.

      Tuesday, December 2nd 2008 - 1 non-lucid dream

Dream #1: Asteroid Attack - Lucid: NO D:

I don't really remember this dream very much, as it wasn't a lucid one and the visual and other sensory quality was not very good.
So I'm outside with my dad, watching what we called "the meteor shower". Basically, I saw a bunch of asteroids/meteors/whatever fall in to the atmosphere and explode. It was pretty cool, not the best however.
The sky was black (it was night time) but there were no stars out, however.
Because I didn't become lucid, it faded quickly.

      Friday, December 5th 2008 - 1 lucid dream

Dream #1: Levitation - Lucid: YES - Type: DILD

I was in my room, this dream started as a DUDS (a "Dreaming while Unknown Dreaming State", as I call it, you're dreaming about laying in bed trying to go to sleep).

I had gotten myself into the habit of doing reality checks continually throughout the day. I saw the hypnagogic imagery I was seeing suddenly go away, so I did 2 reality checks: I plugged my nose to see if I could still breathe, and I could breathe through my nose while it was plugged. I pinched my arm really hard and tight and I did not feel any pain, just the texture of my skin being pulled.
I confirmed that I was dreaming. I then went out in to the living room, where my dad was at the time. He was on his laptop.
He asked me if I had a good sleep and every thing, and I replied saying that I did get a good enough sleep.
He then asked me what I was going to do. I said "I'm going outside to see how cold and windy it is."
I asked dad the same question. His reply was "I'm going outside to see how cold and windy it is." That was a dream sign.
My brother came into the kitchen, all dressed in his usual zip-up hoodie and had his mohawk up.
I asked him what he was going to do. My brother's reply was "I'm going outside to see how cold and windy it is."
All the lights were on in the living room/kitchen by now.
I then proceeded to grab my winter jacket and head out the door.
It was a little bit brighter outside than how bright it was in The Darkness. It was the same setting, except the streetlights were turned off.
It was very windy but it wasn't very cold. It was extremely humid, however.
I proceeded to try to fly. Again, it wasn't a success, but I managed to glide a few meters in length. A pretty big step forward from last dream.
However, I had found out a new technique! I found that by placing both my arms by my sides (extended, of course), and put my hands in the position that they would normally grab something in, I could levitate by pulling myself up! It was almost like I was grabbing on to invisible monkey bars. The dream then underwent a huge scene transition and I think I lost my lucidity. It faded a few minutes after.

      Tuesday, December 9th 2008 - 1 lucid dream

Dream #1: Dream Talk - Lucid: YES - Type: DILD

It started at school. I was at Lindsay Thurber Comprehensive High School. I was going home.
I was taking the bus. It went for what seemed like hours. Actually, it took 3 hours in the dream world.
Instead of going home (where we initially intended), the bus driver took us on a detour of downtown Red Deer and eventually dropped all of us off back at the school. It was 6:30PM when we landed at the school.
The layout of outside drastically changed. It was very cloudy, and cold, but not snowy.
Because of the fact that the layout changed, I did two reality checks, the pinch pain check and the good ol' "breathe through your plugged nose" check. I continuously did the pinch pain check on the bus, and it did hurt a little bit.
But when I got off, I did the pinch pain check again, and I did not feel any pain. I quickly did the "breathe through your nose check" and it worked. I could breathe through my nose, even though it was plugged.
The rest of the people who got off the buses formed groups - kind of like an after-school program.
Their main topics were all about lucid dreaming.
I had decided what to do. I had 3 things on my mind: levitating (using the technique I found out from last dream), igniting things and attempting to fly.
First thing I wanted to do was make a nearby car burst into flames. It didn't work, but I managed to catch my shoe on fire!
      I quickly put it out.
I then decided it was time to try flying. If that didn't succeed, then I would just levitate around the scene.
For a while I saw my brother (Ben) standing around, wandering aimlessly.
Flying didn't work, so like I said, I levitated. I actually got higher than what I did in the last dream, Levitation!
After a while, I got tired.
I saw Dad pull the van up into the parking lot. He opened the passenger seat door, but didn't say hi (that was a dream sign). I had to say "Hi" or "Hello" three times to him before he responded. He replied with a simple "Hi".
He was sitting in the passenger seat while driving, and he was steering with only one arm (yet another dream sign!)
I got in, but I stood, because he was driving from the passenger seat.
After Dad and I got home, the dream quickly faded. Actually it didn't necessarily "fade", but it just snapped into reality.
I woke up, exactly at 6:00 AM.

      Sunday, December 14th 2008 - 1 lucid dream

Dream #1: Super Tornadosphere Lake! (I also wrote a poem on this one)
      - Lucid: YES - Type: DILD

Before I start, I'd just like to state that in this dream I've accomplished two goals: flying and changing the setting at will.

The dream started in a very weird setting. It was a mixture of a hospital, an office, and my school.
I was in the hallway near the Staff Lounge. I did a reality check, something didn't seem right about this place. The reality check failed, so obviously I was in a dream.
I entered the Staff Lounge. Just in the corner, behind the door frame was a very weird green light-sort of thing. The green light (whenever you would think about it very hard) would open an imaginary "text" file, and whenever you would stop thinking about the green light, it would close it.
The imaginary text file described the setting I wanted to go to: a beach.
You know that whenever you read something, it is only natural to imagine it/visualise it happening, and dreams are only part of your imagination... right?
I read the imaginary text file, and I imagined myself holding on to a wooden pole near the dock on the beach.
It was evening, of course. When I did that, I saw the setting change around me to the beach I had just imagined, I was holding on to the wooden pole.
The beach was empty, but the sunset was beautiful!
I thought to myself, "This is the perfect setting for flying!" So I attempted to fly.
For the first time ever, my attempt was successful!
When I was in mid-flight (high above the water, could no longer see the shore) I saw four Wind-Waker like tornadoes, in a square shape. They were below me, but the wind was hindering my flight path!
I then decided, "Hmm, if that's gonna happen, why not just swoop down into them to attempt to destroy them."
I swooped down into the four cartoon-ey Wind-Waker tornadoes, and I got caught for a few seconds.
The view then switched to first-person (it was in third-person earlier).
Suddenly, I violently spun very hard to escape them. It worked! And I managed to destroy two in the middle of it.
Then I woke up. "***," I thought, "That was fun!"
I couldn't get back to sleep, but I almost had another WILD.
(Btw, I did the breathing through your nose reality check)

Dream #1: Hurricane Town - Lucid: YES!!! - Type: DILD
(This is one of my favorites, btw)

The dream started just outside my house. It was daytime.
      Seems pretty normal, doesn't it?
However, this dream involved Kory (one of my brothers) and Bowser (from Super Mario Bros).
This dream had reoccurred - it already happened (as a non-lucid dream) about 2-3 years ago.
Me and my brother were chasing Bowser down the street. This was a BLATANT dream sign, I would usually never be chasing a huge-*** fire-breathing talking turtle with spikes on his shell down the road.
We got to the end of the road, where a bus stop usually is. Off to the right there was an apartment building, about the same one we pass by when going home every day, but not anywhere near our block.
Bowser suddenly jumped. We stopped, staring in awe about how he jumped so far.
From what it looked like, Bowser had jumped into the apartment building (which was currently under construction, being taken down in the real world).
We then saw a HUUUUUUGE hurricane form over us. I obviously realized I was dreaming waaay before this happened.
I then flew right into the hurricane. This scared the crap out of Kory.
I stayed in there for a few seconds (and it was hella windy), but later had flown out of the storm because I scared Kory.
Once I landed, I started running down the sidewalk, right through the wind.
I pointed at the hurricane and said "Dissappear!"
It did. The dream started to fade.

Then...? A false awakening. I was alerted immediately because it looked like a hurricane had struck the house (lol irony!).
It startled me... I woke up.

      It was fun!!!

Dream #1: A Night in Star Wars Rooftops - Lucid: YES - Type: DILD

This one started in the bathroom. I specifically remember seeing the 'creation process' of this dream.
At first it was a cartoony blur.
When I came to, I was standing up in the bathroom, again about to urinate. I knew I was dreaming (from seeing everything as a cartoony blur at first). I exited the bathroom. Outside I was in a maze of rooftops. There was one door, which, of course, was leading back into the bathroom.
      It was night time.
Everything was pixelated... well, kind of half pixelated. Every rooftop on the block had some way to get to (some sort of 'path', says I).
      There were skyscrapers all over.
I was on the roof top of one of the slightly shorter (i.e. not as tall) buildings.
I went exploring. I came to a backyard fence (WTF!?) on the side of one of the buildings. Still everything was kind of pixelated, but it was slightly clearer.
I remembered one of the techniques mentioned by Tim Post to stabilize the dream.
I touched the fence, and whispered "Increase clarity now" about three times. This made a world of difference. Nothing was pixelated or cartoony anymore! I was able to see very clearly. It all looked just to real to believe.
I also remembered a YouTube video that suggested to look at the sky in your dreams.
I did. There were four very high skyscrapers (They were HUUUUGE!).
I had an awesome view of the stars! They were beautiful!
I was standing in the middle of the four skyscrapers at that time. I also saw a Star Wars type vehicle hovering above me (it was so high it looked like a dot in my field of vision).
There was no one around me.
I, again, decided to explore the dreamscape around me.
After a while, I came to a dead end. There was another building (about the same height) way off in the distance.
Part of it was on fire.
I decided to try and fly to it. But before I could, I saw the dream fading. I rubbed my hands together again, but that only worked for a few more minutes.
I was caught in mid-flight when the dream ended.

Dream #1: Night into Day - Lucid: YES - Type: DILD

I was on my Nintendo DS, playing Diddy Kong Racing DS.
I somehow had the false memory of playing it before going to sleep.
My natural instinct then told me I was dreaming.
I paused the game, and the Nintendo DS had displayed a weird retarded comment relating to lucid dreaming, while saying that 'turning it off' was a 'skill'.

It was night time... I could not see very much... (no stars either).
I exited my bedroom and entered the living room. The only light that was on in the house at the time were the bedroom lights and the lamp in the living room.

I remembered that a few days ago I was reading on a forum how night was a sign that the dream's quality was not very good. That same post congratulated one person for turning night into day.
      I wanted to try that.
It was like spinning the Wheel of Fortune, whereas when I wanted to change it, it went into a cycle (night --> morning --> night --> morning). I had to stop it at the right time.
I spread my hand out, put it forward, and said "stop."
      It was morning.
I teleported outside. It wasn't very dark out, but it was still bright enough outside for the streetlights to be on.
      They weren't.

Just ahead of me (about 10-20 km) I saw a very dense area of trees and bushes.

I started rubbing my hands together to see if the streetlights would turn on (usually minor details like the streetlights being off indicate the dream is about to fade away).

The street lamps turned on. Not only that, but I saw a whole bunch of condensed stars appear over the horizon (kinda like the morning star type of thing).
When the street lamps powered on, I also saw a bunch of very dim lights appear in the dense bushes.

I just wanted to walk around, seeing as how the dream's quality still wasn't good enough for flying or doing anything else magical. However, the sight was unreal!

January was where I was mostly too lazy to journal my dreams online. There's not too many dreams until late in the month.
      Monday, January 26th 2009 - 2 lucid dreams

Dream #1: Lucid Short #1: The Bathroom - Lucid: YES - Type: DILD

This one was very short, hence the title.
I was in the bathroom, as usual. I did the breathing reality check, and that didn't work. I thought, "WTF!? This can't be real." I was sitting down on the toilet and I decided to do a hand reality check because of my still unconfirmed suspicion. Both of my middle fingers started flickering (WTF) and I suddenly became very, very dizzy. I then passed out, and the dream ended.

Dream #2: Sunday, Sledding around town - Lucid: YES - Type: DILD
This one happened in the morning. It was a long lucid dream, but it was fun. Now that I have recalled it, the first part I can remember was when my brother gave me a donut, and I ate it. Let's continue on from there.

It was a donut from the Tim Horton's coffee shop. The donut was mostly dark chocolate, but it had a few sprinkles on it.
I ate it, and then waited out in the hallway.
      It was night time.
Me, dad and my brother's girlfriend were going sledding around town.
When we got ready, I went out onto the front steps and I saw my mom.
I started a little conversation with her, which ended on the topic of the fact that I was currently dreaming.

"When I look at things," I said, "I would say that this dream's sensory quality is about 35% of that of a normal lucid dream." She said "Well that's the problem. See, I can never get my lucid dreams to 100% quality."

I then did a reality check (breathing through your plugged nose) and rubbed my hands together, to stabilize the dream. It suddenly got a little bit more vivid, as well as colder, but it was still night time, as it stayed night time for the whole dream.

I said, "Well here's a trick, stabilize." I then walked down the sidewalk and back, and then she disappeared.
(Btw, I heard that if you have a shared dream experience with someone, and they disappear, it usually means they woke up somehow. I guess it was probably me that startled her by saying the word "stabilize" and then walking away from her.)

Now, here's where the real fun begins: I was still outside. We (as in me, my dad, and my brother's girlfriend) were all gathered up, in a line, on the sidewalk.
He explained the procedures: Me and Amanda were on the sled, with dad pushing us. The sled was a fine, white, sheet of plastic with two holes in it (for our hands).
We were being pushed by dad, but whenever he gets to the side of one of the houses, he was going to try to stop us, and we were supposed to jump over the fence. Once we jumped over the fence, he would grab it again, and start pushing.

The ride did not end until we got back to our house. It was really fun, but it was time to take a break. The dream then ended.

      Saturday, January 31st 2009 - 1 lucid dream

Dream #1: Lucidity - Playing Fraxy - Lucid: YES - Type: DILD

For those of you who don't know what Fraxy is, it's a freeware arena shooter game where you can create your own bosses. Google it; I'm too lazy to link to it here.

The dream started out with a false awakening.
Just a little tidbit of background information here: my USB key I have in my portable radio has only 45 songs on it.
As I said, it started out with a false awakening. I was in my bed and I saw the USB key on my radio say it was on song #255286258. I did a few reality checks: two on my digital clock (lol!) and a few breathing checks. The time went from 8:35 AM to 9:11 AM. The breathing checks worked, but only if I did them a certain way (lol!). This was quite something. I got on to my computer, and found myself playing Fraxy. This level I started playing wasn't a boss, but it was more like a dungeon from The Legend of Zelda.
I didn't get to finish it before another false awakening (wow, what a coincidence ;p.) I found myself sleeping in my computer chair where I was playing Fraxy! I then slipped back into the level, realizing how much progress I made. I was almost finished by the time of that false awakening! This time I completed the level, and I went on to fighting some of the bosses my brain had up it's sleeves for me. I defeated all of them. But the funny part is, the last one was extremely weak and didn't have any weapons on him! Even funnier was that it was titled 'All of the Above'!!! Now that I think of it, it gets me cracked up.

Dream #1: Asking My Subconscious - A Lucid Milestone - Lucid: YES - Type: DILD

I was in my house and I had a false awakening. I was lucid, from doing an RC (I don't remember which one, though). My stepmom was moving away (as she is in real life on Saturday). I was in my room and on my computer when Brian from Holmes on Homes suddenly opened my door. I had a small conversation with him, and he said he had to leave briefly. I then tried one of the suggestions from LD4All that I have never done yet, which was asking the DC what he represents/why he is there/etc. I stood up and asked him "Why are you here?" His response was "That's a very good question." He took a moment to think about it, but he was interrupted by another dream character who requested his help. Sadly, he could not get back to me before the dream ended.

But I have interpreted what the DC represents. He represents the fact that my stepmom is moving and it will rid a huge load off our shoulders.
(As of now, she already moved away.)

Dream #1: Running Away - A Lucid Fragment - Lucid: YES - Type: DILD

I don't remember very much of this dream; that's why I call it a "lucid fragment".
I was in Lindsay Thurber Comprehensive High School. My memory is very jumpy on this one. Even though my memory was very jumpy, it felt just as real as the other one I had Friday night.

A few times in the dream I remember sticking my finger through the wall (lol).

I was in the main entry area of the school. Apparently I had angried one of the music teachers in the school and I was running away from her. She was no match for me as I was able to run about twice as fast as I could normally run.

Dream #2: Flying... and store robbers. Lucid: YES - Type: DILD
This dream was kind of weird, but it was a start. I have been really getting into lucid dreaming lately, and this is the first time I remember that I recalled two nights in a row with journaled lucid dreams!

So the dream starts out in a convenience store downtown Red Deer. It turns out I want to buy two family board games, but two "store robbers" are there to mess them up. I catch both of them. I am then interviewed by the owner of the store (forgot what she said -- details missing). After I finish, I am sent out of the store and I decided to try my two cents at flying in the Superman position. I fail several times, but I get the hang of it after a while. It was actually more fun than I remember it being.

I also attempted a WILD last night but it didn't work. Oh well. Maybe next time
