My Brain does not accept Reality - 2007 Dreams, Lucid or Not

Hello there! Here's my dream journal, and suggested by the title, there are dreams here lucid or not. The first entry:

My dream on the night of October 12, 2007 - Lucid

As, I gather, most beginner's lucid dreams are, it started as a plain, non-lucid dream. I was in a lake, chased by a manatee. This was no friendly manatee, or, as a type this, normal one. Out of it's nostrils shot foam. I presume it wanted to eat me.

Now we near the end of the normal dream. To escape the animal, I head underwater. There are all sorts of animals here, some that don't belong here. I see an armadillo, sitting still on a gray rock. Turn my head some more, I see a lion walking on the sea floor, following what looks like a squid. It seems to me, for now. But then, I notice my breathing. I breath with the most of ease underwater. Immediately at this observation, I recall my dream tests from the previous day. I return, above the sea line. At this point, I plug my nose. And, just like underwater, I can breathe as if nose was unobstructed! Here, I realize this is a dream. With most excitement, I shall add.

I have been reading and asking about lucid dreams recently, both online and in real life. I must say, it is lucky that I have a lucid dream on my first try.
Eager to attempt things I can't do in reality, say, flying, I swim to the beach. I note that the water was much thinner then normal water is. With this, I can swim faster.

When I reached the beach, I observe the dreamscape. It isn't an ocean at all, It's a lake. On the sides of the lake are hills, house, cottages and cabins. On my side of the lake it is more like a town, with a few shops hillside and a cottage only up the hill a bit. As my eyes met the sight of this cottage, I noticed a long balcony attached to it. I run up the hill and walk onto the balcony. Reaching out, high and long, it seems like a perfect place to do something I always wanted to do in a lucid dream:Fly.

Unlike other balconies, this one has no bars around it. I walk up to the far edge of the balcony, the side facing the lake, and jump into the air. Flying is much easier then I imagined, as all I had to do was jump and simply choose not to return to the ground.

As you can imagine, taking flight independently can be frightening for the first time. I glided I few feet around the balcony, but became scared and returned to the ground. I note that I had the greatest of ease returning to the ground. After gathering myself, I took a serious attempt at flying. Once more, I walked to the far side of the balcony, jumped into the air, and took flight. This time, I didn't have the balcony beneath me.

I was around ten feet high at the time, more or less. But instantly after leaving the balcony, I went up. Not straight up. Just forward-up. I arose, around five more feet, then went straight forward. I couldn't control my speed, nor height. I could control "steering", however, going in any direction I wanted. My method of flying wasn't flapping or the "superman method", but rather floating, occasionally waving my arms as if I was swimming.

This was the first time I noticed the sky in my dreamscape. Like usual, the sky was blue. But the clouds were white and gray, as expected, but there were tan, and almost red ones. As I flew, I looked beneath me. There was trees, mostly Willow, and a wide sand bar, a few sand islands close to the shore. I decided I would try and explore the shore later, but at the same moment, I began to feel very tired while flying, and started to go down to the ground. Fast, but not straight down, fortunately, This was rather frightening. With very realistic flight, a beginner would expect a realistic, painful crash landing.

It wasn't painful at all, at least for me. I don't know if crashing if painful for others. When I crashed, I scoped up some sand into my hands. It was pliable, like clay. It appeared like normal sand, however. I shaped it to something almost resembling a cat, but stopped as I heard a voice behind me. "Flying is fun, isn't it?"

The character in my dream who said this was a man. He was obese, had dark hair that reached about an inch below his ears. The skin on his face and arms was the color one would expect a person to look like, but on the area of his legs just visible between his shoes and pants was green. When I turned around once more to reply, they were violet. My reply was simple. "Yeah."
Now that I am awake, I would ask more into it. His question suggests that this dream dweller had the same flight abilities as I.

Now I would explore, as my mind promised myself previously. I walked into the warm water and then walked onto a small sand island.

This island was very odd indeed. There was a very hard wind. A very, very strong wind indeed. Despite the strong force I felt pushing against me, I saw nothing on this island was affected. My hair remained idle. The grass and twigs on this island remained idle. As I pondered about this odd event, everything went blank. At least, when I woke up. This is, for now, all I can recall from my first lucid dream.

      ....

I must add, my first lucid dream was a very successful one. Actually, to be honest, this wasn't my first. A few years ago I had a lucid dream, but out of excitement the first thing I wanted to do was test. I woke myself up. So, I'm saying this was my first. After all, I didn't try very hard for that first one.

Congratulations on an interesting first entry into your journal. It sounds like quite a lengthy lucid dream you had, so I'm happy that you were fortunate enough to experience such a thing.

Also, I'm glad you did follow through with your self promise of exploration. Lucid exploration and observation is often more satisfying than lucid interaction (for me at least).

      Keep writing my friend.

Their spirits still pray though. That’s how the temples are still floating.”
