      Ray's Dream journal.

I had my first LD a couple years ago.
I've being making more and more LD's ever since I joined last year, although I didn't spend much time here.

Now I usually have good dream recall, but I tend to forget my LDs over time, so I decided to make a dream journal.

So, I might as well post it here, so you people can enjoy my weird dreams.

      Feel free to reply .

      Shortest Dream/Nightmare/Lucid EVER?

I had this dream last night, or rather day... its hard to keep track of it when you have both day and night shifts in the same week.

This had to be the shortest dream/LD ever, probably because I gained lucidity almost right after I fell asleep.

I couldn't forget about it because it was one of my "only" recurring nightmare. However, I have not had it every since I joined last year.

On top of that, a few hours before going to bed, I was reading about Dream guides for the first time on this forum, and managed to remember what I read the second I gained lucidity.

      Anyway, here it is.

      The shortest creepy nightmare/LD ever.
At first, I was standing idly in my bedroom.
I had been dreaming for a really short time, so I only started remembering at the moment I decided to leave my room.

So I walk towards the door and plan to exit my room.
Before/while turning the knob, I had a weird, ominous feeling, like if something was not right.

      I opened the door, and I saw exactly what I would normally see;
my hallway, leading to the living room, with the couch and a lamp in my field of view.
Everything was pitch black, except a slight moonlight glow comming from the moon outside. (For a dream, the scene looked very realistic.)
      Immediatly, I felt terribly bad.

(In my dreams, whenever I entered a place that was very dark, I would get this very same fear, and then the dream would turn into a nightmare, getting grabbed by some invisible being, unable to scream for help, and unable to break free.)

Immediatly, I shut the door to stay in my room.

(When I had this nightmare, I always noticed the darkness when it was too late, and the attack was inevitable.
So it was really the first time I ever prevented such attack.
I have tried struggling, interrogating and even using lucidity to summon light before, but nothing ever managed to free me from that grasp.)

      Then suddently I gained lucidity.

(Having thought about this nightmare so much while on these forum, I was sorta waiting for that whole year to finally defeat my nightmare, too bad I forgot that. )

So instantly, instead of trying to do anything with that nightmare, I simply thought about what I should do now that I was lucid.

The last thing I read about came to mind. My dream guide.

So I said to myself: "When I open that door, my dreamguide will be behind." or something like that.

I open the door again, halfway through.
The scenery is exactly the same as before, with the same ominous feeling.
I look quickly, my guide should've been standing right in front of the door.
Then suddently, the door closes, like if something strong pulled it from the outside.

I remember thinking to myself "Ok...so I guess that means I'm not ready to see my dream guide..." and I woke up moment later, with an awkward deception.

All this took place in about 15-20 second, half of it being lucid.
I made a total of 2 step, then remained on place from the moment I open the door to the moment I awake.

I have being wondering ever since if trying to summon my dream guide in a "dangerous" place was a good idea.

Was the closing door only part of the nightmare, or was it my dreamguide refusing to show itself?

Did I wake up for a similar reason, or was it because I had not being dreaming for long enough before having lucidity, then feeling awkward?

I guess I'll have to sort that out next LD...
