      Wink ~Serendipity's Dreams~

There probably aren't going to be a lot of dreams in here to start with, because I have only just started thinking about writing them down. I usually tell Luke (my fiance) about them but then once it's out of my system I usually forget them. I do feel it's important to start recording them though.

I will however post a dream that I had four days after Christmas last year. It has stayed with me and I often wonder about the meaning of this dream, as it's about my Stepdad, who died five years ago.

I dreamt that I walked into the kitchen and my stepdad was waiting for me. He was talking to me but I couldn't hear him saying anything, it was like someone had pushed the 'mute' button. I told him that I couldn't hear him, but as soon as I started talking, he disappeared. My Mum was also in the kitchen but she was unaware that my stepdad had even been in the room. She was standing on a chair reaching into a cupboard, obviously trying to find something.

Then I woke up. But since having that dream, I often wonder what my stepdad was trying to tell me and I wish that I had been able to hear him..

People say that when you are pregnant you have HEAPS of dreams..
I was the opposite. I was unable to recall any dreams during the duration of my pregnancy but they returned once I had given birth.

My more recent dreams I have found to be rather puzzling.

Two nights ago I had two dreams that I could recall, one of which I believe to be a lucid dream.

The first one, my mother in law and I were going to the shops but she insisted on us going in separate cars. When we got there she was wearing a black wig and dark sunglasses....
There were some Japanese tourists taking a photo next to the shopping centre and she jumped into the photo without asking first, and she pulled a face!! Wasn't funny at the time but it was hilarious when I woke up and realised..
Later on I checked one of my lotto tickets and I had won millions of dollars. I went to the newsagency to hand in the ticket and they said that they couldn't do it, and that I would have to go to the doctor's surgery and they would be able to do it for me?!

The second dream I had, was a dream of a, er *cough*sexual*cough* nature, but it was with my husband!!! It was a lucid dream and I was able to "control" what happened. One thing I do remember though was that he had long hair (he cut his hair a couple of years ago), which I found to be unusual.. I'm curious as to whether there was a reason for this. It almost felt like a flashback dream?

For my own benefit I'm going to post my previous dreams in here. It will help me with putting two and two together and working out how they all relate to each other.

      29/12/2006
I dreamt that I walked into a kitchen and my stepfather was waiting for me. He was talking to me but I couldn't hear him saying anything. I asked him to talk louder but as soon as I spoke, he disappeared.
My Mum wasn't aware that this had happened even though she was in the kitchen as well. She was standing on a chair reaching into a cupboard, obviously trying to find something.
I interpret this dream as me not being able to speak to him before he passed away so suddenly, and that he had things to tell me.

      15/8/2007
Someone was hired to relieve me of work. Slowly but surely they took over my duties and then management said it was time to let me go as there was nothing left for me to do.
I'm still not quite sure what the meaning of this dream was, but have the feeling that I was channeling someone else's fears of being let go.

      16/8/2007
I dreamt of model vintage cars, with every detail exactly the same as the original. The model car was silver.
I haven't been able to find an adequate interpretation for this dream.

      18/8/2007
I dreamt of a large bruise, about the size of my palm, on my inner thigh.
[i]To dream of bruises represents stress and mounting pressure in waking life. It may also refer to a reawakening of old famil wounds.
To see wounded or crippled legs signifies lack of balance, autonomy or independence.

      2/11/2007
In my backyard I had a large tomato plant - it actually looked like a tree. From it I picked off four tomatoes. Three were speckled and looked a bit diseased, but the fourth was a huge one, as big as my hand span and no flaws on it, perfectly ripe. I gave all of them to my sister-in-law.

In my garden I also had a lemon tree, which had dropped some fruit. I believe they were decomposing.

I also recall seeing the son of my friend as a toddler, and we were giving him chocolate and playing games with him.

Tomatoes - for a young woman to see ripe tomatoes, fortells her happiness in the married state. But because I gave the tomatoes to my sister-in-law, does this relate to her or me?

Lemons - to see shrivelled lemons denotes divorce. This is what makes the dream perplexing. I dream about happy marriage as well as divorce?

Children - To romp or play with children, denotes that all your speculating and love enterprises will prevail.

Chocolate - To dream of chocolate denotes that you will provide abundantly for thos who are dependent on you.

Sister-In-Law - Represents characteristics in her that you find within your own self.

      4/11/2007
I dreamt of eating biscuits - there were heaps of packets on top of the fridge at someone's house that I was visiting.

I also dreamt of my mother-in-law, she asked me if I wanted to help "Kelly" move house. Kelly was moving closer to a lake to pursue sailing.

Biscuits - Eating or baking them indicates ill health or family peace ruptured over silly disputes.

Mother-In-Law - Denotes that there will be pleasant reconciliation after some serious disagreement.

      5/11/2007
I dreamt that the council planted three trees on the verge outside our house. I didn't want them there because I was worried that they would fall down in a storm.

To see a falling tree in your dream, indicates that you are off balance and out of sync. You are off track and headed in the wrong direction. (Thankfully I didn't see the tree falling, however perhaps as this was something I was fearful of, it was something I was trying to avoid altogether).

      9/11/2007
I dreamt of poo!! It was cat poo and was scattered all over the floor.

To see or come into contact with faeces, signifies an aspect of yourself that are dirty or negative and which you believe to be undesirable or repulsive. You need to acknowledge and express these feelings, even though it may be shameful.

      13/11/2007
      1. I had a nightmare that the roof beams were going to fall on my head (I had this dream twice in one night and woke up in bed, upright, with my hands in the air protecting my head!

To see a roof falling in, you will be threatened by a sudden calamity.

      2. I dreamt of my own wedding. I had no shoes and not many people were watching the ceremony - they were eating food instead.

To lose your shoes is a sign of desertion and divorce.

      17/11/2007
      1. I visited a stall at a market that made plates for individuals. My husband was there, singing. The colours they were making on the plate were swirled into purple, red and blue.

Plates - you will retain your husband's love and respect by the wise ordering of the household.

Singing - To hear someone sing in your dream, signifies emotional and spiritual fulfillment. You are changing your mood and experiencing a more positive outlook in life.

      Colours in dreams:
      - Blue: Blue represents truth, wisdom, heaven, eternity, devotion, tranquility, loyalty and openness. The presence of this color in your dream, may symbolize your spiritual guide and your optimism of the future. You have clarity of mind.

-Red: Red is an indication of raw energy, force, vigor, intense passion, aggression, power, courage and passion. The color red has deep emotional and spiritual connotations. Red is also the color of danger, shame, sexual impulses and urges.

      - Purple: Purple is indicative of devotion, healing abilities, loving, kindness, and compassion. It is also the color of royalty, high rank, and dignity.

      2. I was at work and someone approached me at the desk and asked me why I didn't answer the phone. I explained that I was out the back and couldn't. They wouldn't listen to me and I just started yelling at them.

Yelling - Represents repressed anger that needs to be expressed. If you are yelling and no one is listening, suggests that you feel your voice doesn't matter.

      23/2/2008
I dreamt a lot about my husband and unborn (at the time) baby, although I can only recall a couple of things.
In one dream, my hubby was carrying our baby around in a sling.
In another, I noticed that bub had yellow irises in her eyes, they were the most unusual colour, a really intense yellow.

Yellow -The color yellow has both positive and negative connotations. If the dream is a pleasant one, then the color yellow is symbolic of intellect, energy, agility, happiness, harmony, and wisdom. On the other hand, if the dream is an unpleasant one, then the color represents cowardice and sickness. You may have a fear or an inability to make a decision or take action.

      11/6/2008
I dreamt that I was stirring melting chocolate with my hand. It wasn't hot, but just nice and warm.

Chocolate - Signifies self reward and indulgence. I wasn't able to find a suitable explanation for why the chocolate was melted.

I was buying a new pair of jeans and a dark formal dress. The shop keeper told me that they were closing early today because they had run out of change in the till.

Later on I was killing strange bug people and looting their corpses (World of Warcraft style!) but someone was following me and taking th quest items before I could!

Clothing - To dream that you are shopping for or buying clothes, represents your anxieties about trying to fit in or being "well-suited" for your changing role. (Perhaps this relates to my new role as a mum?)

Games - To dream that you are playing games, signifies relaxation or competition. It may also represent the rules you play by.

      Another crazy one folks..
Thank goodness for my iPhone. As soon as I woke up I typed the whole thing down and went back to sleep, haha..

      1. I dreamt that I was in an aeroplane, but instead of chairs there were beds. We must have been in economy class because there were three people assigned to each single bed. I believe they were bunks?

      2. Later on I remember being in the car with one of my hubby's friends and we were doing a coffee run. It must have been too early in the morning or too late at night because the coffee place (drive through) was closed. I recall that there were people working there though. They were making biscuits but they were just squirting the biscuits out of tubes.. it was weird.
In the "morning" I went to get coffee from the same place and it was open but my own boss was serving me through the window.

      3. I spoke to one of my friends who had had a falling out with another one of our friends. I couldn't recall what they were arguing about, but Shell said that she felt bad about arguing with Melissa. Shell had bought an outfit for Melissa's son but hadn't given it to him yet.

      Wow, three pages back!!

      9/9/2008
I was on my husband's computer and I noticed that he had started his pr0n collection again. When I asked why, he said it was so he could get his rocks off. I asked him why he needed to do this, because I had offered to have sex with him on numerous occasions since bub was born and he refused every time. I can't remember what his response to this was but I remember that it made me very angry.
He then hugged me and was comforting me. Basically he said "Of course I still find you attractive. But I think we should watch it together!".

Then I woke up. I guess the dream was sort of parallel to my current sex life. We haven't had sex since Josie turned up, not because I don't want to, but because he doesn't want to. He was there at the birth and basically saw everything so he's worried he's going to hurt me. But all I really feel at the moment is insecure and unwanted... I'm certainly not as attractive as I was before having Josie. I have stretch marks everywhere.... so when I keep getting rejected it just kinda puts me in a bad spot... I feel like I'm going downhill a bit at the moment..

I had two of the strangest dreams last night.

My daughter had learnt to crawl almost instantly, but she wasn't crawling like a normal baby, she was practically running on all fours. She was so fast, I remember my husband chasing after her with his arms outstretched. WEIRD.

My other dream, I was cycling with some of my friends from Years 6 and 7 of Primary School. I was being told that I needed to pick up the pace because I wasn't keeping up. We stopped at a public toilet block and I got a lecture on how to ride my bike. Then we all got back on the bikes and headed up a ramp onto a freeway!!
