My first morning of trying to remember a dream was surprisingly successful, I didn't think I would remember anything.
Dream 1:
I was in a building (pub?) where there were lots of people watching something (football?). I walked towards the exit and ran into a friend from my primary school who I havn't spoken to in a while. There was a guy with him with a brown beard who I didn't know. They left and I stayed for a short while I think. I found myself walking down the high street of my hometown and by the bus stop near Woolworths I saw my friend and his friend again. I walked past them and the dream ended.
I woke up briefly and closed my window then went back to sleep for an hour or so.
Dream 2:
I was in a room with quite a few other students. There was a piano in the room and I was opening my violin case on a bed. A girl I didn't know (MG) started talking to me.
MG:"Why do you have a violin when there's a piano right there?"
Me:"Because I can't play the piano"
MG:"Let's put on <Name of Film>"
The other people in the room didn't seem to like this idea.
Me:"Let's vote on what to watch."
MG:"No, we'll put this on."
Me:"No, we should vote."
Dream ends.
I'm sure there was more to the second one than I could remember when I woke up, particularly the talking.
I've been trying some reality checks today. I drew a letter 'A' on my left palm and a letter 'Z' on my right palm. The 'A' is inside a square and the 'Z' inside a circle. Every half hour or so I look at the 'A', turn my hand around and then look at it again, then I do the same for the 'Z'. I think I'm right in thinking that the letters or shapes might change in a dream.
I'll try this for a few days and see if anything happens. If not I'll try the nose RC or the finger-through-palm one. Also, a piece of music played in a spontaneous and very brief LD I had a while ago ('Spring Time' by Yiruma) which I might try to set up as an external cue.
I'll post again tomorrow.
