The Small Door

[Dream_Quake]

I am in a resteraunt (another waiting tables anxiety dream, I used to have these when I was a waiter, but not anymore), and It's very busy in there. The lighting is a very deep red. The manager is the same guy that used to be my boss, but the place has changed. I would like to point out that this same dream is what I like to call an "echo" of a previous dream...I've had this dream before, but it's not the same. An echo dream isn't a reoccuring dream, as a reoccuring dream is nearly identicle, and happens thoughout the years over and over. An echo, is similar--like a Deja Vu. Although the place is busy, my section is empty. I walk over to my section, and a guy comes in the door and sits down. He wants to order right away. I grab my pen and paper and try to write down his order but my pen doesnt work. I shake the pen and look around--now my section is completely full, and every one is irate and wants to get their order in. I tell the guy to hang on, I'm going to get a new pen, but he gets up and says (Gosh I cant remember now) something very awkward and unusual for the situation. I actually find it funny and giggle (the giggle was very real i remember--how my body felt, how my diaphram felt, and also even to the point of a euphoric release of endorphins or whatever)--I said something which was as though I understood him, and he giggled back to me and left...I thought he would be back. Dream shift. I'm in the back of the resteraunt now. Talking to my manager. I don't have the proper shirt on, and hat. (We never needed hats there, but in the dream we did)...I was worried that my boss would be upset at me...I had earrings too (have not had those since 9th grade), and I was worried earings were bad. Dream shift. I'm talking to my friend who is the host/cashier. A good friend of mine. He is also wearing dark black hoops, the left one bigger than the right one by quite a bit. He also has these strange outer-shoulder armor/pad things. Like a knights shoulder pads but smaller, and 5 of them on each shoulder--they were also black. It was actually, more tribal than midevil. ------------- Well that's all I can do for now.

Last night, I vowed to become lucid. I felt, just before falling off to sleep that I would achieve this. But lo and behold...I only reached a measly state of clarity. The majority of the dream took place in a familiaresk housing area. I had met a new friend, that, like me, enjoys playing video games. He was a healthy mix between several of my childhood friends. I remember the vivid feel of the controler in my hand, then the strange and immediate switch to a mouse and keyboard--I found this odd, but again, I was the man in the peach accepting whatever oddity shown to me. Dream shift I remember once, a close brush with lucidity--the usually happens when I fly, which I do all the time in my dreams. It's by far my favorite thing to do. I was in a tree. A narly, leavless tree. Sitting on a rickety branch with my friend on a branch beside me. It was overcast and silent out. I fell from the tree, almost on purpose--knowing, or feeling that this would force my oppressed powers to show themselves. And they did. I nearly hit the ground before swooping off. Dream Shift... Fade.
