I don't remember writing this dream

Last night I was reading my dream journal and I came across one that I have no memory of writing!!!! Hell I didn't even remember the dream when I read about it! I may have been alseep when I wrote it. Has this happened to anyone else?

The dream was about a child (girl) writing a story and her father was helping her. She was writing about what happened to her as a child. Her father told her he knew the story because he was the "Child Beyond Enduring". Whatever that means. I think she was trying to write a story about herself but it was also about her father. She was also writing about being down a in well and looking down on herself waiting for rescue.

Totally weird and I dont even remember the dream!

I was reading mine one day and I came across one I didn't remeber. I just went back and looked at it again and this time I kind of remeber part of it but not the rest.

I think after you write so many dreams even with it writen down you will forget some. I have to have over a 100 or 150 dreams in mine and I have been doing this for like 2 maybe 3 months.

You were probably tired, and it was the middle of the night when you wrote it down...its hard to remember anything when you wake up in the middle of the night for a few moments.

Well then here's another questiong.... Do you usally remember the dream when you read through your journal again? I read my other dreams and I was like, Oh yeah I remember that. This dream didn't even spark anything. Oh well just curious...

Yeah sleeping is just like being hypnotised kinda. From what I understand there are at least 3 personalities at work. One is the Dream - the second being the body, and the 3rd is the conscious. I know I've heard of a story once where someone was doing an experiment on someone who was sleeping and this individual was asking the sleeper loads of questions in which she was consciously answering, but when she woke up she mentioned of a dream that had nothing to do with the questions the doctor was asking her. She didn't remember answering any questions at all she just remembered the dream.

I usually remember the dream if I write it down. That's why my journal helps me a lot.

Yeah, the journal is really important, because in the middle of the night, even if you tell yourself to remember, it is very possible to forget most of the details, because of the state of mind...and the drool!

      The drool?

Anyway I have horrible dream recall without the diary. I can't remember anything in the morning if I don't write it down. Does anyone have any tips on how to remember dreams better through mneunics or other techs?
