hi guys
well this is only the second night that I've been trying to recall my dreams and write them down. Basically, my husband has the radio coming on in the morning (Radio 4, a British one with lots of intellectual debate, current affairs etc.). I chatted with him this morning about how it is a barrier to my dream recall when I wake up in the morning, but he is unwilling to change it - he says he needs that ( ) to wake up properly.
It's really hard to try and remember details when people are speaking in the background, try as I might I could still make out some of the words. Grrr. I think I might have to try ear plugs (although hubbie says they won't cut out voices?). I think we're a bit young for seperate rooms!! And he isn't budging - what can I do?
Incidentally, I woke up at 4.30am and thought "this would be a good time to try a WILD" but then I scared myself half to death with the thought of having another hypnogogic image like the one I had several years ago (a serpant). It wasn't scary at the time. I took it to mean that I'm not really ready, so I went back to sleep in the normal way. I think the best way for me to start out (once dream recall is better) is MILD - this is how I succeeded last time - just repeating before bed "when I see something odd I will realise I'm dreaming" (or something like that). And also looking at the palm of my hands in the dream, which snapped me into lucidity. It seems a less scary way of starting out - hypnogogic imagery could be a bit freaky if not mentally/emotionally ready for it.
