      Strange daytime dream

Several years ago, I fell asleep on my couch and started dreaming. I was in the lobby of a really nice hotel. I could see all of the decor, the tapestries, and big winding staircase. To my left was a large ballroom with a lecturn and a middle aged female attendant at the lecturn with a large book with a black cover. The book was open. There were several people in this ballroom standing around as if it was some sort of a social gathering. For some reason, I walked up to the attendant and she didn't even ask me who I was there to see, but looked in the book and said "yes, she's here and she's been waiting to see you". I walked in and saw my mother wearing a beautiful green and white dress. She smelled of perfume and she hugged me and told me she was alright. Then I woke up.

My mom has been dead for 8 years. Before that day, I had been having nightmares about her where she would be with the rest of us, but I knew she wasn't supposed to be there. She would have decay on her arm or face or something that no one else saw but me. After that day, I never had that dream again. That was without a doubt the most lucid dream I have ever had, as the detail was as real as any reality I have ever experienced.

Yes...some daydreams, or dreams during the day seem to be more vivid for me, even thought its not the whole REM period thing!

oh, and welcome to the board!

It sounds like a wonderful daydream. My best friend died not too long ago and I still have vivid dreams about him. So I kind of know what you are going through with the dream. I love those vivid ones like that.
Love like you have never been hurt before

Once you will learn how to lucid dream, you may try to summon your mother's memory, or try to contact her. It's up to you, but results can be unpredictable.
