Can you recall one day after?

I was wondering, at least in my experience, I was only able to recall dreams the morning right after dreaming, and usually until the first half of my day, I can recall some, but my capacity for it dwindles with time. After that, it seems my dream has been lost forever.

Has anybody had experience with recalling a dream that happened a few days, weeks, or months back? I think I might've done this, but it only felt like a deja vu, where I couldn't remember whether the dream content I just recalled to mind was from a day ago or several days ago, and it psyches me out!

Yeah, i get that sometimes...although it's usually on the same day, i'll have forgotten my dream, and i'll see or hear something, that brings it all crashing back, and i'm like 'OH!! that's what i was dreaming about!!'

I love suddenly remembering my dreams later in the day. Sometimes it even happens several days after the fact! I drop whatever I'm thinking about and just re-experience the whole thing.

Yep, me too. Sometimes your just doing something and wham, it hits me, I begin recalling it like I am dreaming it for the first time.

I can actually remember dreams I had as far back as before kindergarden.
That was um... years upon years agao

I find that having a notepad next to my bed is very good for making notes. That way I have clues to jog my memory. And sometimes something will happen either in waking or dreaming that will trigger a dream recall. But the notepad and the notes are most effective for myself.

I can remember the dreams I've had since I was little. I usually always remember all my dreams even days after having them.

Only time i really can't remember my dream is if i was REALLY tired.

when I write down my dreams I often get flashbacks to dreams from my youth. I can also recall some dreams indefinitely, and others I eventually forget, usually because they're not interesting.

I can't possibly write down every detail of my dreams. Considering all the words that come to mind, it would exhaust me needlessly. At first I wrote a lot to get my mind jogging, and I do it once in a while to improve my attention to detail, but I usually just write quick bullet points that trigger certain "save points" in my dreams, because from then on, I can remember a lot. Then I would just think through it (hopefully not sleep during it) and write down what I want to remember.

Scrubz, that's incredible...to be only able to do it the night after. It sure is unusual...dreaming must be your haven to attract those memories again.

But I also like it when I remember dreams spontaneously. It's the best! It's like having a revelation, and wondering if this is what the Bible writers felt like. Time and time again, I get the impression that the dream really did happen as real, according to my mind, and to carry that memory in waking life is something to really cherish.

I recall things quite often that I assume to be dreams since I'm fairly sure I have never actually experienced them. Usually they are just small fragments that I can't piece together at all. I have a feeling they are bits of dreams that are most likely fairly recent , but honestly I don't know for sure. Its almost like deja-vu in that the sensation of remebering it is odd.

The easiest way to recall it is to write it down in the morning. I'm way too lazy to do that, so I try to remember them all day. If I remind myself and at least write them down before the end of the day, I can prolly remember them, but if I dont remind myself then it is indeed lost.

Yes, i have. The longest i have recalled a dream is prbably about a week. They are usually triggered by something I see when im walking around or something, then i think: wow, didnt i have a dream about that recently?" and so bits and pieces come back int omy memory, and then main details, so i can get almost a whole dream days after it occured.

I remember good memorable dreams many many months, but small ones definately fade by that night. But then I just go to my dj and I'm like "oooooh yeah". This even still happens after fully writing it out in the morning.

I have memory of only 2 dreams at the moment.

      1) The one I had when I was 5, walking thru the house of ghosts (whatever its called, has the ghosts everywhere) and then seeing my mother fall off one of the floors or whatever.

      2) One I had about 3 years ago. Involved me dreaming my bed was at the fair. I think it was lucid (don't remember that much) I just remember that I actually thought to myself that it was a dream and then I woke up

And now, trying to get this whole dream recall thing down is hard... I just can't remember dreams anymore.

I can hardly recall anything 1 day after. In 2 it's probably completely gone. However I did just today remembert a part of a dream I had like months ago! =D I am happy I did, maybe it means my DR is improving.

Maybe I just recalled it becouse it wasn't a happy dream, I kind of hurt my dad really dad, but I was sorry about it ^___^

I have a number of dreams from all over my life that are fairly ingrained in my memory. In fact, I wonder if my earliest memories actually happened or were dreams. Funny how that works.

If my dreams are uninteresting, I tend to forget them. Recording them is helpful. Also, some parts of dreams just stick to me, year after year. I remember 2 dreams I had when I was 4.
Others I can remember even if I didn't write them down. They'll just stick to me.

I can recall a few tidbits from earlier years. Just now I remember my vision being set somewhere in a forest where all the leaves had fallen, and the trees and branches seemed black. I think it was night time? I also remember being in a store and telling someone that Godzilla was coming. Woah, I just remembered that. I don't think I've given that dream a second thought since I was in kindergarten. Wow, the brain sure is a weird and wonderful thing.

Some dreams just stick for you for a weird reason. Yesterday, before I went to bed a dream of at least a year or 2 old flashed back in my memory. I had given the dream some thought at the time, but I had forgotten it for years.

Really weird, I was just thinking about dreaming in general and just Hit me, bang. Kind of cool dream, it was colorfull, the most colorfull I ever had...

And I had a flak cannon like in Unreal Tournament ^___^ I was seeing it like a computer game, a part of it.
