      Needing Tips for Dream Recall

I am still very new to the idea of lucid dreams and am trying to take my first steps. I have tried a few of the suggestions on this site, however I am having a hard time recalling any of my dreams. Perhaps I am not naturally proficient at doing so, however I hope that the possibilty of attaining lucid dreams will become a reality. Any tips for a super beginner would be greatly appreciated. I apologize if my question seems as if I have not thoroughly researched this site and message boards.

      Thanks,
      ~Tony

I'm new at the process myself...but here's a great piece of advice that worked wonders for me when I tried it during my last slumber: Before you go to sleep, set an alarm of some kind to wake you up about six hours in. Have a pad of paper and a writing utensil available. Don't waste any time once you awaken. Write as much as you can as quickly as possible without thinking too much. Dream memories tend to get erased if you wait too long after waking up, especially if you go back to sleep. In theory, as time progresses, you will come to understand the mechanics of your own dreams and how to identify them. This is the first step to becoming lucid.

I'd rather advise you to lie still and remember the dream first. If you switch on the light you will probably be much too awake.

      Welcome

You should try MILD http://www.dreamviews.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2047 I used it when I first started and it does seriously help with recall. Also like the others have said keep a pen/pencil and some paper near your bed at all times.

      Good luck

Thanks so much for all the tips! I had awoken once last night and remember having a dream - probably induced from thinking about my new-found intrerest so much haha. Anyway, I tried to make my first entry in my dream journal and found that it was pretty hard to make out the chicken scratches the next morning. I'm looking forward to learn and grow as I gain more experience. Thanks again for the support and the tips!!

A good way to recall dreams is ofcourse a Dream Journal. Allso try to think about what you are feeling, like just one tiny thing can make you recall something. If you can't remember a dream and then you for instance see a person or thing from the dream a part of the dream might 'pop' into your mind, and the rest of the dream often follows becouse you can just 'trace it back'

      good luck
