      not recognizing dream signs

Hi, this is my first post but i've been reading here awhile so aloha pplz anyway my problem is such; all this weekend I have had a whole lot of my dreams REVOLVING around my dreamsigns yet I don't even think to recognize them.
My dreamsigns are motorcycles, animals and cop cars mostly. While I'm awake I rarely forget to do a reality check whenever I see one of these that's why it's so frustrating I didn't become lucid once.
I mean the dreams were all about seals, tigers, and even getting arrested while driving a motorcycle! Once in the seal dream 3 motorcycles came and drove around ON TOP OF the water! So i guess my question is Why do I always conveniently forget to RC in dream even though I always do in real life and how come those things that seem so obvious now aren't in the dream? how can I make them? Thanks in advance for any replies

Heh, I know how you feel - pretty frustrated, huh? So you always do a RC when you see a motorcycle, animal, or cop car in real life? What does your RC consist of? When did you first start doing this?

Have you ever tried the MILD technique? Or dream incubation? Maybe as you are laying in bed preparing to fall asleep, visualize yourself dreaming about your dreamsigns. Then visualize yourself recognizing them and becoming lucid. Really concentrate on the dreamsign leading to lucidity.

I've never had this problem, usually once I establish a common dreamsign and practice the RCs related to it during the day, it carries over into my dreams. But it's different for everyone and you just may need to give it more time. Try not to get frustrated about it. Know that next time you see one of these dreamsigns, you are going to have a lucid dream - make it happen.

Oh, and welcome to the forum, by the way. Good luck and give us updates on your progress!

I almost always do a recall when i see one -espescially motorcycles, that's become instinct once i see a motorcycle i automatically do a recall. maybe not so much on the animal one since that's kinda vague a sign. I do the rc where you plug your nose and try to breathe, that's gotten me lucid a few times. since first hearing about LDing around 3-4 months ago i've had about 10-15

I've sort of tried MILDing not very seriously. Though I havn't heard alot on dream incubation. Isn't that where you try to dream about a certain thing?

Wow - sounds like you've got no problem becoming lucid, having 10-15 LDs under your belt in 3-4 month's time! Great job!

MILDing is where you aim to remember that you're dreaming. A lot of people have success with MILD. If you want to dream about a certain thing, that's called dream incubation.
