      very explicit dreamsigns?

So last night (or this morning, really) I had a dream where I just kept missing dream sign after dream sign. First, I was going to see someone I haven't seen in years. My parents were in the dream, and I ended up back in my childhood room. I was confused about the time and location of the dream. And still, I didn't realize I was dreaming.

Finally, I noticed something mounted on the wall of my room, it looked like cross between a smoke detector and one of those air fresheners you see in public restrooms. Now, that wasn't the weird thing even. As I looked closer, I noticed a blue plastic tab on the side that said something like "Pull in case of LUCID DREAMS only." I can't remember exactly what it said, but the words 'lucid dreams' were big and bold on the tab. For a minute I still didn't get it. I thought, "hm, that's interesting. I've never noticed that here before, and how coincidental, I've been thinking about LDs so much lately! I wonder what it means?! ... Oh wait. I think I should do a RC" Had a pretty cool LD after that too!

So, basically, my subconscious was telling me, "you're dreaming, dumbass! What more do you want from us?!"

Anyone else had a similar experience with very explicit dreamsigns that you just can't miss? Like your unconscious is putting it there for the express purpose of causing you to go lucid?

Yeah, I've had stuff like that too. I think everyone does. My opinion is that it isn't your subconscious wanting you to get lucid, but just trying to piss you off. I think if it wants you to get lucid, then it just makes you lucid, and it does that kind of stuff to drive you crazy and to prove how stupid humans really are.

.....in the sense that he didnt reality check or...pull the tab even, even though his goal was right there. Cant get any more simple than that. "Pull incase of LUCID DREAMS only"

huh? Are you talking about me?

I did RC eventually, it just took a minute to figure it out. Although I'm kicking myself for not pulling that tab, just to see what would have happened! haha

Oh, and I'm a she, not a he.

I've been to back every school I've gone to, none of them triggered a LD. And this is while I'm off for the summer.

I wasn't talking in specifics about people by saying people are stupid, I mean in general as a human race. Also, when I say stupid, I don't mean intellectually stupid, we are very smart, and can do great things. I mean common sense stupid. I've seen people where the text on something official, like a report card, changes to "you're dreaming!!!", and they still don't realize it. That is what I mean by stupidity. This lack of harmony with nature that causes to not notice the most obvious problems in the world, and anomalies in our dreams. So intellectually, yes humans are very smart, but as a race, they are quite dumb. Otherwise there wouldn't be World Wars and genocides, and all those other atrocities we see every day.

I think that sometimes we miss dream signs just because we aren't paying attention. I've had a few dreams where i've met celebrities (at least 5) but in none of them did I realise "hey this is kinda strange how i'm meeting this person" even after I told myself while awake to do a reality check if I see a celebrity.

Maybe there are just some points in your dream where you aren't supposed to become lucid yet? Maybe you were supposed to go along with the dream and then finally your mind decided to let you have a lucid dream once it was finished.

Haha yes, I've had those celebrity dreams too! One time I was running a day care center and had to fend off paparazzi because Brad and Angelina's kids were there.

lol, yeah that's exactly what I mean, shouldn't we notice that we are dreaming when we have those sort of dreams? When would that ever happen in real life?

Wow, well if that ever happens to me I sure hope I become lucid. I really think that our minds must choose when to let us become lucid, i don't see any other explanation for why we miss that sort of thing.

Seeing weird things is one thing, that happens all the time in dreams, but to actually think about lucid dreaming when you are dreaming, and then to not become lucid, that is really annoying! (In my dream I thought falling asleep while watching TV would make me lucid, so in a dream I am wrapped up in covers in front of the TV, trying to fall asleep and have a lucid dream. Now that is stupid&#33

OK, I have to add this: last night I was listeneing to phoenelai's mp3, I thought it was keeping me from falling asleep so I took it off, but I could still hear it loud and clear. I was laying in bed thinking, this is bad, this has somehow gotten into my brain, what am I going to do (meanwhile I'm hearing "you're dreaming, if you hear this you are not awake, remember to do your reality checks, etc"). I never thought to do an RC, I just laid there and worried. Until I really woke up.

That really does suck... hopefully the next time it happens you'll realise now? Maybe once you've been fooled once for not realising you are dreaming with the mp3, it won't happen again.

InvaderGarf, it just might work. I think I'll try it for real. I'll keep you posted. Of course I'll give RealIllusion the credit for RILD (rudeness induced lucid dreaming).

PenguinLord I agree on what you mean ith People being Stupid.
The word you seek is Ignorant. People focus their attention on Details and lose Oversight on the WHOLE picture:The truth. It's Ignorance that narrows their mind's vision.

      About missing obvious Dreamsigns:
I've missed many overly obvious DreamSigns in many Dreams: My bed in another position in my room, My computer desk being placed against another wall in this room than Usual, Racing in cars along long Futuristic lit highways, Running away for the police and picking up an AK47 Hanging out with two twing girls with short Black hair and NO FACE In dreams I am SO Ignorant. I Pay Attention only to ONE specific Detail like a DreamCharacter or ''Something I've Got to Do'' in a Dream And I lose oversight of the over picture: I am not furtherly aware of where I am, weather it's day or night, what the enviroment looked like: We just know we where ''somewhere and had to I.E. Find your Sister and tell her something'' And that's all you remember from the Dream.

It's like TunnelVision. People in Dreams get too distracted by Little details that they loose oversight of the Dream enviroment. It's like only THAT thing that has caught your attention in a dream is the only thing the Dream consists of. But if you were to become more aware of your Enviroment and the Idea of ''Where you are right now'' You might gain Lucidity more often and experience more Visual Dreams.

not to overestimate the Value of our Concrete Knowledge;"Common sense"/Rationality,
for doing so would make us Blind for the unimaginable, unparalleled Capacity of and Wisdom contained within our Felt Knowledge;Subconscious Intuition.

Thanks, I did mean ignorant, but I was probably in a hurry and stupid is the first word that came to mind, so sorry in case anyone got offended.

I've had a DC once tell me I was dreaming and I didn't believe them. I can be so hardheaded sometimes.

My dreamsigns are sometimes very weird. Like I'll be talking to a friend and their privates are hanging out, and I'm all embarrassed and wondering why they don't notice.

Oh, I did have a good dream last night with some metallic clouds that looked almost comic book like. I can't seem to recognize dreamsigns, but that's because I haven't trained myself in the day to recognize them.

Would of sucked if you pulled it and it woke you up. Your subconscious is like "Haha got your hopes up, bitch."

I once had a nose bleed and looked down on the ground where it made a puddle that spelt "Dreaming." Took my a while to realize I was in a dream lol.
