Hello all....I lost an LD last week because I saw the 'inserted' dreamsign(a horse) and did an RC which is looking at my hands and it din't work, they looked close to normal . Btw the method I used to induce the dreamsign is by intermitently looking at images of it while on my PC during the day and at night, have been doing it for 2 weeks on and off. But since then haven't seen it ......even when I think about it before I sleep. Any advice would be appreciated

well, looking at your hands is a terrible RC.

You should read some word over a couple times or, even better, look at a digital clock a few times. If these things change, you are 100 % dreaming.

Trying to see certain objects or actions in your dreams is called dream incubation and it requires quite a lot of effort. The effects can be unpredictable, and they are not under your control.

If you want to see a horse you should imagine that after looking at those images from the PC. Imagine the event for a few seconds before going to sleep, this will increase your chances of seeing the event.
Btw, dream incubation may take several days to manifest - for example you did it on monday and see a dream about it on wednesday. It may take up to a week, so often it's very hard to notice the successful incubation.

Personally, the more I think about something before sleeping, the less chance I have of seeing it in my dreams.

Usually before sleeping I have a clear head, or I just repeat to myself I must do RCs, and be alert in case anything rare shows up ( dreamsigns ). But I don't focus too hard on it.

And just like EV said, even if you see something a lot during your waking hours, it may take a few days to appear in your dreams.
<div align="center">"Could we but mould our dreams at will,
And keep them free from harm or ill,
      How pleasant it would be,
To deem our waking hours but dreams,
And that, our life which now but seems
      A baseless fantasy."
